Debunking the ‘Born This Way’ Myth

Love confused with lust - banner incorrect A new study challenges progressives’ tall tales about sexuality. Here is the world according to the LGBT Left: Just as there are black and white, there are gay and straight. One’s sexual orientation, like one’s race, is fixed and immutable at birth. The process of “questioning” one’s orientation isn’t a process of deciding but of discovering. Similarly, when it comes to gender identity, there is “cis” and there is “trans.” A cis person’s gender identity matches the sex they were “assigned” at birth.  A trans person — well, a trans person is any one of the fifty-plus other genders on the entirely reputable Facebook spectrum. This, you see, is science. Anyone who contradicts it — whether relying on ancient, discredited “holy” texts or outdated notions of morality — isn’t just ignorant, but bigoted. And when it comes to bigots, why draw minute moral distinctions? Is there really much difference between a Klan member and a Christian cons

Judge Rules Roy Moore will remain suspensed for illegally fighting gay marriage

A federal judge on Thursday refused to overturn the suspension of anti-gay Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore. Moore was suspended by a state commission after he defied the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage. Specifically, Moore issued an order to Alabama probate judges instructing them that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage was still in effect despite the ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges. A long-time foe of marriage equality, Moore could be permanently removed from the bench because of his obstruction. U.S. District Judge Harold Albritton threw out Moore’s lawsuit against the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission with a brief order and an accompanying opinion that said the state judicial ethics case against the conservative Republican should move ahead without federal interference. The commission filed charges against Moore with the Alabama Court of the Judiciary, which has the power under state law to consider administrative cases brought against judges. Moore claime

How a rolling sexual revolution is crushing freedom

When German writer and public speaker Gabriele Kuby talks about the effects of the West’s student revolution of 1968 she knows her stuff. She was there, at the Free University of Berlin, studying sociology and gung-ho with the anti-authoritarianism of the era. There has been a revolution in her own life since then and she now devotes her public work to raising consciousness about the cultural devastation being wrought by the ongoing sexual revolution. In the following Q&A she talks about her book on the subject, an English edition of which was published last December . * * * * * Q. In your book,   The Global Sexual Revolution   – Destruction of Freedom in the Name of Freedom,   you   report and warn about the destruction of freedom and culture through the global sexual revolution. Why is this so? A.   As sex goes, so goes the family. As the family goes, so goes society. Sexual norms have a decisive influence on the whole cultural edifice. The anthropolgist J.D. Unwin,

Love, Rights, and Marriage

It’s more difficult because young adults today are much more likely than us older folks to support same-sex marriage, or to be confused by it. But "more difficult" is not the same as impossible—that’s because, no matter what the media is telling you, young evangelicals are still much less likely to support same-sex marriage than their non-evangelical peers. Just as Jesus did with the Pharisees who questioned Him about marriage and divorce, we should refer our young adults back to the Garden of Eden, to God’s created intent. Marriage is not something that human beings invented—so it is not an institution that we are free to re-invent. As Christians, we believe marriage was given to us by God for the benefit of man (that is, Adam) and woman (Eve). That plan is written into the moral fabric of the universe, which is why marriage between man and woman is known in every human society throughout history. That is certainly what Jesus Himself thought. And as followers of Chri

Until 2013, Greg Lake worked for the Australian Immigration Department as a director of various Immigration Detention Centres, including Christmas Island and Nauru . He continues to work with government to help build stronger diversity and refugee policies. Greg attends Seaforth Baptist Church on Sydney ’s northern beaches. He recently announced on Facebook that for as long as he can remember he’s been more attracted to men than women. Eternity caught up with Greg, to find out more. Why have you decided to go public with this now? People who know me well already knew that this has been something I’ve lived with for a long time, and they knew that it isn’t in the top ten things that define me. I guess I’m just at a point now where I don’t feel like there’s people left in my life who I need to have told personally before it just becomes publicly known, and it’s not something that I feel like is a big feature, so why not? This is an issue the church has to confront more today

Malawi’s bishops blast gvmt for caving to foreign pressure on abortion, homosexuality

Image
Malawi 's Catholic bishops made their strongest statement yet against an abortion bill being considered by legislators, of the nation of over 17 million, linking it to a parallel push to legalize same-sex "marriage" supported by the U.S. and international agencies. "We are deeply concerned about new trends in our society that promote a culture of death instead of a culture of life through the abortion campaign," the bishops stated in a March 13 pastoral letter. "Because of that, the family and the institution of marriage between man and woman are under direct attack from those campaigning for homosexual rights and homosexual unions." The bishops led their lengthy statement decrying the poverty gap and the political culture of corruption and waste, but they focused on the current bill, which would grant virtual abortion on demand, providing exceptions to the current century-old law, which calls for a penalty of up to 14 years in prison but

Creative accounting and Australia’s same-sex ‘marriage’ plebiscite

Image
Photograph of Malcolm Turnbull, New South Wales Liberal politician. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) With Australia the only major English-speaking country which has not legalized same-sex marriage, supporters are clamouring for change. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull stands firmly in the “ marriage equality ” camp, but has agreed to hold a plebiscite after the upcoming Federal election, if he wins. The plebiscite would not bind Parliament , but politicians would be foolish to ignore the result. If voters say Yes to same-sex marriage, the Marriage Act would be amended to allow marriage between any two persons. A plebiscite is fiercely opposed by the “marriage equality” lobby. Convinced that they have the numbers in Parliament, but unsure whether they will emerge victorious in a plebiscite, they want the pollies to settle the issue, not the people. One of their tactics is to underscore the cost of a plebiscite. The latest salvo is today’s release of an estimated cost for a ple

Australia: Senator quits unable to support immoral homosexual marriage

Image
West Australian Labor senator Joe Bullock has announced his shock decision to quit parliament less than two years into his six-year term, saying he could not remain a member of a party that would force him to support gay marriage. Senator Bullock, an outspoken opponent of same-sex marriage, will leave Parliament within weeks. Openly gay former WA senator Louise Pratt will nominate for the vacancy. The Labor party now is filling with immoral homosexual crusaders bent on destroying traditional marriage and forcing Christian Churches to marry homosexuals. Senator Bullock, 60, told the Senate his resignation was caused by the decision at last year’s ALP conference to require Labor MPs to support same sex marriage by removing a conscience vote . He said he walked away from the conference “shocked and alone”. “How can I in good conscience recommend to people that they vote for a party which is determined to deny its parliamentarians a conscience vote on the homosexual marriage qu
