The press blamed Christian conservatives for the Pulse nightclub shooting. It was a vicious smear.

Image
The June 12, 2016, Pulse nightclub shooting is, among other things, a searing indictment of the national press’ eagerness to believe the absolute worst about the Right and about Christians in particular. It was casually assumed that the gunman, Omar Mateen , targeted Pulse specifically because it was a gay bar. But even more than that, his avowed Islamic State affiliation was overlooked so that certain reporters, pundits, and editorial boards ( ahem, New York Times ) could claim that the shooting was motivated by conservative U.S. politics and "an effort to approve discrimination against gay and transgender people nationwide under the guise of religious freedom." So, this is how an Islamic terror attack was blamed on American conservatives and Christians. Some outlets went even further, concocting a conspiracy theory that the Pulse shooting had nothing to do with Islamic terrorism — that Mateen was an uncomfortably closeted homosexual and a regular at Pulse,

Catholic school fires first grade teacher after her lesbian ‘wedding’

Image
An openly homosexual Catholic school teacher was fired for “marrying” her lesbian partner and publicizing their relationship online. “Betrayal of the faith – contractually agreed to — and then blaming the Christian employer for being fired is happening more and more these days,” Americans for Truth about Homosexuality president Peter LaBarbera said.  “I think the legalized homosexual ‘marriage’ factor ensures that one of these cases will reach the Supreme Court of the United States .” Jocelyn Morffi taught first grade at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Miami for six years. The day after she returned from her lesbian “wedding” in the Florida Keys, she was let go. She called the firing an act of prejudice against her “choice of partner” when her actions clearly violated Catholic teaching and moral standards. “This weekend I married the love of my life and unfortunately I was terminated from my job as a result,” Morffi complained in a social media post. “In their

Florida county on verge of banning ‘conversion therapy’ for gender confused kids

Reparative therapy for minors is one step closer to being banned in some areas of Miami-Dade County, Florida . An ordinance   banning counseling or treatment for same-sex attraction or gender confusion passed unanimously last month at a Public Safety and Health Committee hearing . The regulation now faces a full commission vote,   according   to NBC Miami . “[...] It is shown by data and medical evidence that [ conversion therapy ] is dangerous and detrimental,” said Commissioner Sally Heyman , who introduced the measure in May. Banning the therapy throughout the county as a first step would have slowed the process, she said, because in that case the county would have to go through each municipality’s government. She hopes the ban spurs the other cities action in issuing a ban. If the ordinance passes the full commission vote, reparative therapy for minors would become illegal in unincorporated parts of Miami -Dade County. Heyman is urging other cities in Miami-Dade Coun

Federal judge orders Guam to issue gay ‘marriage’ licenses starting Tuesday

Image
Mere weeks before the Supreme Court rules on the issue, a federal judge has  demanded  that the island U.S. territory of Guam issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.  Guam is the first U.S. territory to be put in this situation, joining the majority of the 50 U.S. states. U.S. District Court judge Frances M. Tydingco-Gatewood, a George W. Bush appointee, issued the ruling Friday, notwithstanding the Supreme Court's expected decision at the end of the month on the constitutionality of redefining marriage.  Guam's governor, Eddie Calvo , opposes redefinition but declared, in light of Tydingco-Gatewood's ruling, "I have a solemn duty to uphold the law." Guam falls under the U.S. 9 th  Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled last year in favor of redefining marriage in Alaska, Arizona , California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington State.  However, at that time, Gov. Calvo refused to grant marriage licenses before hearing the Suprem

Same-sex ‘marriage’ begins in Florida because one judge said so

U.S. Supreme Court building. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Florida became the 36 th  state to legalize same-sex “marriage” Tuesday, after an injunction blocking enforcement of U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle ’s ruling that the state’s marriage protection law unconstitutional expired without intervention from a higher court. Most counties in Florida proceeded as if the issue had been decided, but state officials are still pursuing appeals with the 11 th  Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court .  While the 11 th  Circuit is unlikely to overturn Hinkle’s decision, the entire nation awaits a possible decision from the Supreme Court, which has so far refrained from directly ruling on the constitutionality of laws that define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Meanwhile, officials in at least three counties refused to participate in same-sex “wedding” ceremonies Tuesday, including in Duval County , where Court Clerk Ronnie Fussell closed down the courthouse chapel ent

Former JAG officer highlights absurdity of gay ‘marriage’ by suing to marry his porn-filled laptop

Image
TALLAHASSEE, FL , May 6, 2014 – A former JAG officer attempted to intervene in two state cases to overturn traditional marriage laws, saying if homosexuals can marry their true love, he should have that right, too. In his case, the Florida man says he wants to marry his “porn-filled Apple computer.” Two federal judges have rejected his request to become part of ongoing litigation aimed at overturning both Florida and Utah’s bans on same-sex “marriage.” Chris Sevier, 37, an Iraq veteran who previously served as a JAG officer in the Tennessee Army National Guard ,  argued in his Florida filing  that “If gay people have the right to marry their object of sexual desire, even if they lack corresponding sexual parts, then I should have the right to marry my preferred sexual object," namely, his laptop computer, which he uses to access pornography. In his filing in  the Utah case , Sevier dared the 10 th  Circuit Court of Appeals to, “Put up or shut up” regarding marriage r

Homosexual marriage first then one year marriage leasing?

Image
August 26, 2013 ( Breakpoint ) - Sometimes, and for some people, leasing makes better sense than buying. For instance, if you like to drive a new car every few years, leasing allows you to drive an updated one for less money and enjoy the “ new car smell ” more often. Likewise, renting rather than owning your home makes it easier to move if circumstances or even wanderlust makes it necessary. Well, if a certain Florida lawyer has his way, there’s something else you’ll be able to lease every few years along with your new car and your new digs: a new spouse. I’m not kidding. Paul Rampell is a Palm Beach attorney specializing in estate planning. In a recent Washington Post article, he told readers “We all know that far too many marriages end in divorce . . .” And that’s true enough. According to Rampell, the problem isn’t that people no longer believe in marriage. On the contrary, he notes that many Americans want to expand the institution to include same-sex couples. The pro

After granting foreign immoral same-sex ‘marriage,’ Canadian Senate now approves gay divorce bill

Legislation tabled by the Conservative government last year to allow foreign homosexual couples to divorce after taking advantage of the country’s liberal same-sex “marriage” law has sailed through the Senate. It had previously escaped a word of debate in the House of Commons . C-32  will amend the Civil Marriage Act so that the “marriages” of foreign same-sex couples who travel to Canada for the ceremony will be considered valid in Canada, “even if one or both of the non-residents do not, at the time of the marriage, have the capacity to enter into it under the law of their respective state of domicile.” Rob Nicholson The bill allows a “new divorce process” to be established that “allows a Canadian court to grant a divorce to non-resident spouses who reside in a state where a divorce cannot be granted to them because that state does not recognize the validity of their marriage.” Gwen Landolt, national vice-president of REAL Women Canada, told LifeSiteNews that the amen
