Homosexuality: Does the Pope read his Bible?

Rome rally against homosexual marriage

Pope Francis has told the Church to say sorry to gay and lesbian people, and any others that feel marginalised by the Church. Fair enough.

He was asked on Sunday whether he agreed with one of his top advisers, German Cardinal Reinhard Marx, who told a conference in Dublin in the days after the deadly Orlando gay club attack that the church owed an apology to gay and lesbian people for having marginalised them.
This question ignores the new information that Orlando was gay on gay revenge.

The apology could be - Catholics are not sharing the truth about the sin of homosexuality. That is worth an apology. By not doing so, Catholics are condemning people to a lifestyle of sin, brokeness and spiritual confusion.

The leader of Catholics all over the globe responded saying he was not able to judge anyone else

Unfortunately, scripture encourages judging but not in a hypocritical way. This is such a foolish, unclear statement.

He said LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people must not be discriminated against but treated with respect.

It is a shame that he did not continue with truth that unless they repent they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. We respect all people and call all people to repentance in Christ

The pope went on to say that some politicised behaviours of the homosexual community can be condemned for being "a bit offensive for others".

his is where the pope is not prepared to call homosexuality a sin. He ignores the Apostle Paul's statements in Romans 1 completely. This is being less than honest regarding the prohibitions of scripture.

But he finished: "Someone who has this condition, who has goodwill and is searching for God, who are we to judge?
We must accompany them."

It is time the Pope read his Bible. Sinners do seek God. We must encourage that but we are also called to declare that sin separates us from a Holy God and repentance from sin and turning to Christ is the only way forward of both the homosexual orientation, behaviour, thoughts and lusts.

Francis then met lesbian, gay and transgender believers. He also responded to claims that he met with anti-same-sex marriage campaigner Kim Davis during his US visit, saying the only personal meeting he held in Washington was with a gay former student and the student's partner.

The Pope is not being clear or reflecting accurately the scriptures on this important issue.
