Should Evangelicals Evolve on Homosexuality?

I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d read with great interest about her life, both in articles and her published work . She had been a postmodern professor at Syracuse University and a lesbian and gay activist. But God saved her, and in recent years she’s become a great resource for the church as a thinker, speaker, and writer, helping the church more effectively engage the LGBT community . I was a bit intimidated, but soon after she entered the room, I knew I could relax. I could tell right away I was in for a treat. When Rosaria and I sat down to talk about “the new America,” the topic of homosexuality was at the forefront of our minds. The LGBT community has taken society by storm. The country’s view of homosexuals is rapidly evolving, and many are petitioning the church to follow suit. Some think the church is iterating as well. At the beginning of this year, Time published a piece entitled, “How Evangelicals Are Changing Their Minds on Gay Marriage.” The article alleges, In p

Why is homosexuality wrong?

Why is homosexuality wrong? With every sin there are multiple levels of why it's offensive to God and to be avoided. The simplest is clearly to say the Bible says it is. And we should start there; and if we can go deeper, that's good. I think it's implied clearly and spoken clearly in Romans 1:24-29 that homosexuality is wrong and to be avoided. And I think Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 lists a very unusual phrase about homosexuality where he says, "Those who do such things"—and he lists it along with greed and covetousness and other sins, so it's not unique by itself in this—"those who do such things will not enter the kingdom of heaven." In other words, if you know that it's wrong and you say, "I don't care that it's wrong. I don't care what God says. I'm going to do that thing," that's an indication that you're not going into the kingdom of heaven. Now, that's just the "It's wron

Qld University Researcher says- People who Vote NO for homosexual marriage are dumb

Academic says people who are against legalizing  homosexual marriage are 'not intelligent enough to take part in a meaningful debate.  Brisbane academic Francisco Perales says homosexual marriage opponents are dumb and are unable to process complex ideas . He cited his own research to argue they were unmoved by facts or other views. Dr Francisco Perales, a senior research fellow with the University of Queensland's Institute for Social Science Research , argues those opposed to redefining marriage struggled with processing complex ideas. The Brisbane-based academic, who specialises in 'gender and sexual identity ', said opponents of changing the Marriage Act lacked the cognitive ability to process complex ideas, discern facts from speculation and critically engage with new or diverse viewpoints.  So, ministers of religion, Ex-PM John Howard, teachers, academics, doctors, nurses, politicians are all dumb when they oppose immoral homosexual marriage! Transgender activist and Greens candidate Martine Delaney demands Christians be re-educated on homosexuality

Image
The Australian Catholic Bishops’ Conference issued a pastoral booklet titled: Don’t Mess with Marriage. The booklet was distributed in parishes and to parents whose children attend Catholic schools. But then transgender activist and Greens candidate Martine Delaney made a complaint to the Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commission, arguing that religious freedom is not absolute in a secular society. Delaney sought a public apology from the Australian Catholic Bishops and a re-education program implemented for staff and students at Catholic schools . The complaint was eventually withdrawn, but the law still remains. Redefining marriage will usher in anti-discrimination laws to fuel attacks like that even further. This is one example of the gay radical agenda.  Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (“LGBT”) activists want to require the majority to move beyond tolerance to endorsement. To accomplish that end, LGBT activists have radically moved from telling us to “stay out of t

10 Reasons Why Homosexual “Marriage” is Harmful and Must be Opposed

Image
1. It Is Not Marriage Calling something marriage does not make it marriage. Marriage has always been a covenant between a man and a woman which is by its nature ordered toward the procreation and education of children and the unity and wellbeing of the spouses. The promoters of same- sex “marriage” propose something entirely different. They propose the union between two men or two women. This denies the self-evident biological, physiological, and psychological differences between men and women which find their complementarity in marriage. It also denies the specific primary purpose of marriage: the perpetuation of the human race and the raising of children . Two entirely different things cannot be considered the same thing. 2. It Violates Natural Law Marriage is not just any relationship between human beings . It is a relationship rooted in human nature and thus governed by natural law. Natural law’s most elementary precept is that “good is to be done and pursued, and evil is

Uniting Church Lesbian Elder - Apostate Church?

Julie McCrossin ABC Presenter and Qantas Radio Q presenter - at 13 years of age was tempted by the sin of lesbianism . She ignored the Bible, repentance and seeking God and instead watched a movie and identified with the false lesbian propaganda presented.   She has since married Melissa Gibson in New York USA and now lives in Sydney pushing immoral homosexual marriage.  Born in 1954, the messages I received about homosexuality when I was growing up were quite straightforward: homosexuality was a criminal act, a mental illness and against God's will. I was 13 when I first felt the creeping sensations of shame, fear and dread when I realised I may be a lesbian. I watched a movie, and I knew I too had "those feelings". It brought a burden of anxiety into my life that only LGBTI people of my generation can truly understand. It was nearly 10 years before I heard anyone say anything positive about homosexuality. ACLU sues Michigan over religious exemptions for adoptions

Image
The American Civil Liberties Union filed suit Wednesday challenging Michigan 's practice of allowing adoption agencies to spurn potential LGBT parents under the guise of religion ....Religious exemption laws let people, churches and sometimes corporations cite religious beliefs as a reason not to enforce a law — such as declining to marry a same-sex couple or letting state-funded foster agencies refuse to place kids with same-sex couples. The Michigan adoption law leads to “fewer options for children” when the pool of qualified adopters is diluted because of unreasonable legislation, ACLU lawyer Leslie Cooper said. “There is a desperate need for families. We need more families, not fewer.” Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signed the state’s common sense bill into law in June 2015. The law in essence lets faith-based agencies say no to homosexuals and lesbians parents if saying yes violates the group’s religious or moral beliefs. The ACLU is hoping for a “clearer ruling” in court
