Where people used to blush, they now boast. Having been been “liberated” from biblical ethics , our society has instead produced a culture of death. People define virtue not on God ’s terms, but instead as doing what is right in their own eyes. Thus, it is an especially blatant form of idolatry, of telling the Creator that one will not have Him as Lord but will worship and serve the creature (Rom. 1:24-27).  This sexual twisting, however, is not the primal sin of humanity rather, it is the ethical outworking of the fundamental transgression, namely, the refusal to honor and thank God (vv.18-23).  Furthermore, homosexual behavior is not the only way our fundamentally idolatrous dispositions show themselves. There are innumerable ways in which idolatry bears unethical fruit. Romans 1:28, introduces the vice list Paul provides in Romans 1:29-31,

The righteousness that can avail for us before the Lord must come through faith alone, because of the depravity of Jew and Gentile alike (Rom. 1:16-3:20). Do we simply agree with people like Obama, Kevin Rudd , David Cameron ? To call homosexual behavior a sin is to stand against powerful forces in our society. Acts that used to be a source of shame are now openly celebrated throughout the world. The so-called “ Gay Rights Movement ,” with the help of many mainline churches, multi-national corporations, politicians, educators, and judges, has been very successful in promoting homosexuality as an acceptable, if not laudable, part of society. When Scripture and culture disagree, we must stand with God’s Word. Homosexual behavior is clearly condemned in the Bible.  Leviticus 18:22  and  1 Corinthian

Marriage is to be cherished wholeheartedly, not to be dispensed with as we futilely attempt to find “happiness” outside of God ’s gracious law. Husbands and wives are called to obey the Lord together and work tirelessly to become one flesh physically, emotionally, and spiritually by guarding and renewing their relationship (Gen. 2:24–25). Her story only illustrates the kind of fleeting thoughts that often come with the awakening of new sexual desires during the teenage years. Later entries in her diary describe the love and need for intimacy she felt for a young male friend with whom she shared many of her deepest thoughts. This raises the question: Why do some make the transition from same-sex to opposite-sex attraction while others become involved in homosexuality?
