ST. PAUL, MN, May 14, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – Tuesday night, at a ceremony on the steps of the state capitol, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is expected to sign a bill redefining marriage in the state to include homosexual couples.  The State Senate approved the bill Monday by a 37-30 vote.  The State House voted on the measure last week,  passing  it 75-59.  Governor Dayton , a Democrat , has called the legislation “one of those society-changing breakthrough moments.” When the law is signed, Minnesota will be the 12 th  U.S. state to legalize same-sex “marriage,” and the third in just ten days. Delaware and Rhode Island both passed gay “marriage” earlier this month.  Homosexual couples will be able to “marry” in Minnesota starting August 1. Gov. Mark Dayton is expected to sign the bill Tuesday evening. Thousands of demonstrators from both sides of the marriage debate flooded the capitol Monday for the Senate debate, which lasted four hours.  Supporters of same-sex “mar

Homosexuality and the Campaign for Immorality

Earlier in the service I read from the first chapter of Romans what is really a very, very shocking portion of Scripture. Just to remind you that Romans chapter 1, verses 18 to 32, describes the wrath of God that is unleashed in the world. The wrath of God is divided into a number of elements. There is eschatological wrath. That is the wrath that will fall on the earth at the end of human history in a time called the time of Tribulation . There is sowing and reaping wrath. That is the wrath of God that comes consequent on sin--whatever a man sows, he reaps. There is cataclysmic wrath. That is the wrath of God that He sets on man from miraculous use of the natural order, such as the Flood, or any other massive disaster that catapults souls into eternity. So there is that wrath of God which is eschatological and which is consequential and which is cataclysmic. And then there is that wrath of God which is eternal wrath, and that would be the wrath of God unleashed on the ungodly foreve

Union leaders line up behind same-sex ‘marriage,’ Obama

WASHINGTON, D.C. ,– Although their membership is evenly split, 90 percent of all union contributions go to the Democratic Party . Now, as it has become a wedge issue in the 2012 presidential campaign, a number of the nation’s largest unions have endorsed same-sex “marriage.” The UAW , AFL-CIO , SEIU, AFSCME , and other top unions have  issued statements supporting same-sex “marriage.”  Many state-level unions have followed suit, particularly in states like  Maryland , where the issue is on the ballot this November. While some unions have backed gay nuptials for a few years, others, such as the UAW,  announced  their support only after President Barack Obama announced his position had changed on the issue. Obama, who had previously opposed redefining marriage, changed his views in May in response to mounting pressure from the homosexual lobby and,  in his words , the role of religion and conversations with his teenage daughters about the issue. Since then, same-sex “m

Worldviews Clash: Democrats VS Republicans

Official photographic portrait of US President Barack Obama (born 4 August 1961; assumed office 20 January 2009) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) In 2012, the Democratic Party becomes the first major political party in the United States to call for the legalization of same-sex marriage. “We support marriage equality and support the movement to secure equal treatment under the law for same-sex couples,” states the platform. This follows President Obama’s announcement earlier this year that his “evolving” position on same-sex marriage now reached the point that he would openly call for same-sex couples to be given the legal right to marry. The velocity of the Democratic Party’s shift concerning same-sex marriage was on full display on the stage of the 2012 Democratic National Convention , when former President Bill Clinton nominated President Obama for re-election. In 1996, President Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) into law after a massive bi-partisan majority i

Jesse Jackson: Yeah, I’d marry homosexuals

Image
CHARLOTTE, September 4, 2012,– The Reverend Jesse Jackson has said he would have “no problem” performing a same-sex wedding ceremony, “if I was asked to.” Jackson made the remarks to reporters in Charlotte , where he had arrived for the Democratic National Convention . “Beginning with the Voting Rights Act of 1965 , to the inclusion of blacks, Hispanics, 18-year-olds, and women, opportunities are now unlimited,” he  said .  Both Jackson and the Democratic Party platform wholeheartedly support same-sex “marriage.”  “We’re taught that being gay is a sin to be overcome through conversion. Without that you go to Hell,” Jackson  said . “If your theology is rooted in that Biblical view, then there’s not much room to grow.” One of Jackson’s former aides has claimed Jackson’s interest in homosexuality is more than theological.  Tommy Bennett , who worked as Jackson’s personal  travel assistant  at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition , filed a sexual harassment lawsuit  for  nearly h

Obama & Democrats are wrong on Homosexual Marriage

You and I know that marriage is not a partisan issue. We are Democrats , Republicans and Independents, coming together to support something bigger than party: God 's own truth about marriage. Sadly, though, the Democrat party this week officially and formally became the party of gay marriage . Yet, apparently still fearing public backlash over some issues, Democrat party leaders reversed the effort to strip the word "God" from the platform, and they put the word "Jerusalem" back in the party platform , to widely spread boos and catcalls from their delegates and audience during a questionable voice vote. Still, they nevertheless unhesitatingly  adopted gay marriage  as core to their party platform: Freedom to Marry .  We support the right of all families to have equal respect, responsibilities, and protections under the law. We support marriage equality and support the movement to secure equal treatment under law for same-sex couples. We also suppo
