Here comes the backlash to the  Duck Dynasty star’s anti-gay remarks published in GQ today. The Human Rights Campaign , the largest LGBT civil rights group in the U.S., is demanding an apology from Phil Robertson and for A+E Networks to denounce his comments. “These remarks go beyond being outlandishly inaccurate and offensive,” the group said in a long and detailed statement. “They are dangerous and revisionist, appealing to those in our society who wish to repeat patterns of discrimination. We urge A+E to immediately denounce and repudiate Robertson’s comments. Furthermore, we call on you to see that Phil Robertson apologizes for his vitriolic comments. Surely a brand like A+E does not want to be associated with such racist and homophobic remarks. January 4, 2013 ( PJSaunders ) - With the coalition government about to publish their bill to legalise gay marriage in England and Wales there has been a huge increase in opposition to the measure over the last two months. Over 624,000 people have now signed the Coalition for Marriage (C4M)  petition  against the redefinition of marriage which simply reads as follows: ‘I support the legal definition of marriage which is the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others. I oppose any attempt to redefine it.’ The petition has overwhelmed that of the ‘ Campaign for equal Marriage ’ (C4EM) which has attracted only 64,000 signatures, just over 10% of C4M’s total. This underlines the growing suspicion that the push to legalise gay marriage is the concern of a small liberal elite which does not speak for the majority. A new billboard outside of a church in New Zealand is drawing criticism from the local community and the wider Christian population by inferring that the son of God was homosexual. The billboard states that its "time for Jesus to come out." The church, St. Matthew -in-the-City in Auckland , is described on their home page as a progressive Anglican church and posted the advertisement as a way to start a new debate. Their argument is that Jesus might have been gay – a dubious claim that has been met with stern opposition. Notable theologians have repeatedly charged that the Bible is clear over which unions were acceptable in the eyes of Jesus, though.
