Federal judge cites Supreme Court to overturn Mississippi’s ban on homosexual adoptions
According to The Associated Press, Judge Daniel Jordan ordered the head of the state's Department of Human Services to stop enforcing the ban. In his ruling, Jordan cited the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that legally redefined marriage.
"It ... seems highly unlikely that the same court that held a state cannot ban gay marriage because it would deny benefits — expressly including the right to adopt — would then conclude that married gay couples can be denied that very same benefit," he wrote.
A spokesperson for Mississippi's Attorney General told the AP that "the district court did direct the Department of Human Services not to discriminate between same-sex and opposite-sex couples in adoption related services provided by that agency. We respect the district court's analysis of the law and will consult with the Department of Human Services on what options to take going forward."
Roberta Kaplan, who represents the homosexuals that sued the state, said "the ban is effectively over. DHS will have a very, very hard time convincing a judge on appeal."
Numerous studies have found that children raised in the homes of homosexuals do statistically worse than those children raised in homes with heterosexual parents. Kids will be sacrificed because of Judge Jordan sinful arrogant foolish decision.
