Finnish Christian MP interrogated again about her views on homosexuality

Image
Päivi Räsänen, a member of the Finnish parliament and former government minister, was summoned to a police interrogation – again. The answers she gave at 10am on 25 August 2020 at the police station of Pasila (Helsinki) was the third time she had to respond to the police because of suspicion of agitation against immoral homosexuality , which is now a crime that according to the Penal Code of Finland could lead to a prison sentence of up to two years. Gays can lie and trick and fool you into prison. It was one more step in the case opened against her by the Prosecutor General of Finland in pre-trial investigations that started in 2019, when Räsänen posted a Bible verse about homosexuality with a personal message on her social media accounts in which she criticized the fact that the Finnish Lutheran Church had openly supported the country’s LGBTQ Pride events. A radio talk show This time, the politician of the Christian Democratic Party had to give explanations about her remarks in a ta

Finnish politician opens up about police investigating her for defending biblical view of homosexuality

Back in May, I wrote a column for First Things on the ongoing persecution of Finnish politician Päivi Räsänen, who has been consistently targeted over the past several years by LGBT activists for her outspoken advocacy of biblical sexual ethics. Since I interviewed her last, she has been interrogated by Finnish police yet again—simply for articulating her Christian beliefs in public.  Räsänen is not an insignificant figure in Finland. From 2004 to 2015, she served as chair for the Christian Democrats, and from June 2011 to May 2015 she was Minister for the Interior of Finland. Her husband is a Lutheran pastor, and her Christian views were well-known. Not until Section 10 of Finland’s Criminal Code dealing with hate speech was amended in 2011 to include “sexual orientation” did she run into any trouble.  Suddenly, the expression of orthodox Christian views held by countless millions could possibly consider hate speech, and perhaps even prosecutable. That, at least, is what Räsänen’s per

Mother fired for opposing LGBT sex ed for little kids sues school where she worked

BRISTOL, England, — A mother of two is fighting back after being fired for voicing on social media her opposition to a sex education program for primary school students. Kristie Higgs, 44, was dismissed in 2019 for “gross misconduct” from the rural state-funded high school where she served as a pastoral administrator because she wrote two Facebook posts criticizing England’s adoption of a mandatory “sex and relationships education” containing LGBT ideology.  In response, Higgs has taken her former employer, Farmor’s School in Fairfax, Gloucestershire, to an employment tribunal. She has accused the institution of discrimination and harrassment on the grounds of her Christian beliefs. The hearing, which is taking place in the Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre, began Monday. It is expected to last five days.   The story began in October 2018 when Higgs was particularly concerned about the now infamous pro-LGBT “No Outsiders” sex education program because it was going to be implement

The review—which will seek input from families, patients, and medical professionals—will explore the referral and treatment processes, including the use of controversial puberty-blocking drugs (also known as puberty blockers). It also will examine the recent exponential increase in young patients. During the past decade, the number of referrals to the NHS Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) rose from fewer than 100 to more than 2,500.  Concerns About Risk and Consent  GIDS is managed by the London-based Tavistock Centre, which has been accused of rushing gender-transition treatments and

N ew Relationships and Sexuality Education Guidelines which push the gender diversity and inclusivity narrative have been published by the Ministry of Education. The guidelines are intended for teachers, leaders, and Boards of Trustees of all State and State-Integrated schools. There are two guides,  one for years 1–8 and another for years 9–13 . Both guides are titled Relationships and Sexuality Education. Content in each document is generally the same, with some issues, such as pornography, and sexting, being fleshed out further in the secondary school resource. According to the preamble on the Ministry of Education site, the guidelines “make explicit the key learning at each curriculum level.” The Ministry claims to have integrated “the latest research on relationships, gender, sexuality, and wellbeing.” The documents are a revision on the 2015 resource  “Sexuality Education: A guide for principals, boards of trustees, and teachers” . They have been developed in response to the Ed

Police stand by as activists threaten to burn down UK church over pastor calling out homosexual sin

Image
It all began when pastor Joshua Williamson of Newquay Baptist Church posted on social media that it was 'wonderful news' that a local Pride celebration had been canceled. Pink News, an online LGBT “news” outlet, has been frequently called out by none other than gay commentator Douglas Murray as a trashy hate rag primarily focused on grievance-peddling. All of that is true, but the most obvious attribute of those writing for the site is an utter lack of self-awareness. On September 8, for example, they published an attack on 34-year-old Joshua Williamson of Newquay Baptist Church under the headline: “Hateful preacher insists there’s no such thing as a gay Christian while thanking God for canceling Pride.” Williamson’s sin (and it’s important to note that these activists do believe in sin, they’ve just flipped the script) is a social media post noting that Cornwall Pride in the UK had been canceled with the comment “Wonderful news!”  When someone asked him why he’d posted this,

Burger KIngs promotes homosexual sin

A new Burger King ad campaign features a homosexual embrace showing an image of the fast-food chain’s official mascot “kissing” McDonald's well-known mascot, Ronald McDonald (without permission) Burger King Finland launched the ad to celebrate Helsinki Pride Week, which just ended. The pro-homosexual celebration normally takes place in June but was postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak. The ad shows the Burger King’s full face as he “kisses” and puts his hand on the face of what appears to be Ronald McDonald.  While Ronald McDonald’s face cannot be seen, he is identified from his trademark red hair, striped shirt, and yellow vest.   At the bottom of the ad, the phrase “Love Conquers All” can be seen with a version of the “gay pride flag” featuring a black and brown stripe that appears to be influenced by the Black Lives Matter movement. An Adweek report from last week quoted Burger King Finland brand manager Kaisa Kasila as saying “Burger King has always stood for equality”
