Switzerland votes to criminalize ‘homophobia’

Image
The Swiss have voted by a large majority to make “homophobia” a criminal offense.  On Sunday, 63.1 percent of the voters who turned out for several popular initiative referendums agreed that “discrimination,” “hate speech” and other forms of public “insults” aimed at homosexuals because of their “sexual orientation” will be punishable by a fine and up to three years’ imprisonment. During the run-up to Sunday’s vote, the Catholic hierarchy in Switzerland was mostly conspicuous by its absence from the debate.  With the new legislation, the aggravating circumstance of a victim's homosexuality will be added to the original 1994 anti-discrimination and hate speech law in Switzerland's penal code that already criminalized discrimination on the basis of race or religion. How it will be applied in practice will be determined by jurisprudence. To date, sanctions for discrimination and hate speech under the original law are usually limited to fines, only rarely moving up the scale

From the front lines of the culture wars BLOGS Think LGBT cultural changes ‘won’t affect you’? Here’s the ugly way they do

Image
LGBT activism generally has two steps .  Step one has the activists angrily asking those who oppose their agenda how the proposed policy will impact their lives, with the emphatic assertion that it will not.  The second step has these same activists, once they have successfully achieved their goal and demonized their opponents, informing us all precisely how their agenda will impact our lives. They assured us that redefining marriage, for example, would have no impact on religious liberty. A few minutes later, Democratic presidential candidates on CNN were musing about removing charitable status from churches. Even scarier is the transgender agenda.   Trans activists and their allies are claiming that any girl or boy who believes herself or himself to be born in the wrong body should immediately receive “affirmative” treatment, which generally includes puberty-blockers, hormone treatments, and eventually the requisite mastectomies and castrations to complete what they a

udge slams police for ‘Gestapo’ investigation of UK man’s tweets critical of transgenderism

A UK High Court judge ruled today that it was “unlawful” for police to investigate a man for writing tweets critical of men who say they’re ‘women’ and to record it as a “hate incident.” Mr. Justice Julian Knowles stated that for a member of Humberside Police to go to the workplace of Harry Miller and upbraid him for his political opinions was a “disproportionate interference" with Miller’s freedom of expression.  Last January,  Humberside police officers went to Miller’s business to investigate a third-party complaint that Miller had posted “transphobic” tweets. Miller had retweeted a poem that poked at transgenderism which allegedly included the lines, “Your breasts are made of silicone, your vagina goes nowhere.” Miller had also written in a tweet: “I was assigned mammal at birth, but my orientation is fish. Don't mis-species me."  When Miller spoke with Police Constable (PC) Mansoor Gul, he was given a mini-seminar in trans ideology. Gul also informed Miller

African president publicly rebukes Justin Trudeau for pushing ‘gay pride’ parades in Senegal

The president of Senegal rebuffed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s attempts to discuss decriminalizing homosexuality and promoting “gay pride” parades in the predominately Muslim West African country. And President Macky Sall’s defense of his country’s culture and laws made front-page news in the Francophone country’s capital city of Dakar. CTV correspondent Glen McGregor tweeted a photo of Le Soleil’s headline trumpeting Sall’s rebuke to Trudeau: “Our society does not accept homosexuality.” Canada’s Liberal prime minister told reporters at a Wednesday press conference that he had to raise the subject of Senegal’s criminalization of homosexuality with Sall because he was a “great defender of human rights,” according to Associated Press (AP). For his part, the Senegalese president said his country respected human rights, but that “we’re comfortable with our laws,” and he stressed there would be no change in legislation on homosexuality, AP reported.  “It is our way of l

A Proudly Gay President Would be Bad for America

Image
It is certainly politically incorrect to say this. In fact, in the eyes of many, what I’m about to say is a classic example of extreme religious bigotry. But I will say it nonetheless. A Proudly Gay President Would be Bad for America Choosing an out and proud “married” gay man to run for president, let alone become president, would contribute to the further degeneration and moral confusion of our society along with further attacks on our most fundamental rights. When I tweeted this statement out, it received far more retweets and likes than my average tweet. Far more. So, it obviously struck a chord. The support was strong and consistent. Call me a homophobic bigot, but I'll say it anyway. Choosing an out & proud "married" gay man to run for president, let alone become president, would contribute to the further degeneration & moral confusion of our society along with further attacks on our most fundamental rights. But That’s “Uninformed, Childish a

LGBT youth attempting suicides still high after legalize homosexual marriage

Recent research concludes that suicide rates are down among non-straight teens and LGBTQ youth overall, but they are still far and apart occurring at a higher rate than straight or cisgender teens. Homosexuals campaigned saying - Gay marriage would reduce teen suicide and they would be accepted and everything would be better.   Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 10-24, and these studies can help address what is causing so many to take their own lives and how our society is failing them. One study published its data in the medical Pediatrics journal, analyzing information from the Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance Survey collected in six states from 2009 to 2017. Lead study author, assistant professor Julia Raifman from Boston University, wrote that “large disparities in suicide attempts persisted[…]even as the percent of students identifying as LGBQ increased.” The survey combs its data from Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, North Dakot

Homosexual President

A Christian website published a column saying that 2020 presidential contender Pete Buttigieg is “deserving of death.” What does that mean?    This biblical statement is based on Romans 1 where Paul lists a range of sins of which one is homosexuality as a serious sin -deserving judgment (as do all sin)  WHICH BIBLE VERSE IS BEING REFERRED TO HERE? Romans 1: 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.   28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full
