What happens when gay counselling gets banned?

The American Psychological Association says in its APA Handbook of Sexuality and Psychology   which it has declared “authoritative” [1a] that sexual and gender variations are not simply biologically determined. There are psychological causes [1b] such as childhood sexual abuse [1c,2] . One effect of childhood sexual abuse may be that the victim begins to experience same-sex attractions or behaviours. Is it more compassionate to help relieve these feelings or behaviours or to tell victims they have to live with them? A therapy ban requires the therapist to deny treatment to relieve the victim’s unwanted attractions and behaviours or the therapist will be criminalized. A variety of recognized psychological disorders can be treated only if they are heterosexual. More sexual attractions , romantic fantasies, or behaviours caused by sexual abuse include: • unwanted emotional and sexual ties to the abuser, desire to have sex with minors • the desire to exhibit genitals,

Gay ideology forces to shut down businesses

The California LGBT Caucus recently introduced a bill that would ban counsellors from providing counselling and adults from receiving counsel regarding unwanted same-sex attraction , behaviour or gender confusion .  AB 2943  would prevent so-called “conversion therapy,” known as Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE), and add it to the list of fraudulent schemes under the states’ Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA). California has already prohibited SOCE ( SB1172 ) involving minors, even with parental consent. AB 2943 has been assigned to the Assembly Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection . The bill is set for a committee hearing on April 3. AB 2943  prohibits (1)  advertising  sexual orientation change efforts, (2)  offering to engage in  sexual orientation change efforts, and (3)  engaging in  sexual orientation change efforts. The bill prohibits every individual, whether a pastor, clergy, or licensed therapist, from advertising, offering to engage in, or engaging

Ban books to protect gay hurts

The battle over religious freedom has reached a fever pitch in California , where lawmakers are taking a new approach to punishing traditional beliefs about sex and gender. Assembly Bill (AB) 2943 declares acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) status and behaviour to be a matter of science. From that opening premise, the bill proceeds to subject sceptics to the full weight of the State’s anti-fraud and consumer protection regime for “sexual orientation change efforts” ( SOCE ) when “goods and services” are involved. Unlike prior legislation targeting SOCE, sometimes known as reparative or conversion therapy , this bill is not limited to minors or licensed counsellors. It also does not include any religious exemptions for churches or non-profit ministries. On its face, the targeted “goods and services” could include the sale of books on the power of the Gospel to heal sexual brokenness, or conferences addressing the same topics. After a few days of silence regarding the California Assembly ’s proposed bill  AB 2943 , which could result in the  ban of books  aimed at helping people with unwanted same-sex attractions, the state’s Catholic bishops   issued a statement  against the controversial legislation.   “The bill is inappropriate, too broad and unnecessary,” the bishops said. The California Catholic Conference (CCC) simultaneously issued a thought-provoking tweet, asking, “Could a California bill ban Christian teaching on homosexuality?” CaCathConf @CACatholicConf Could a California bill ban Christian teaching on homosexuality? - The Angelus http:// ow.ly/athf30jDimk   To access an email voicing your opposition visit http:// cqrcengage.com/cacatholic/act ion?0  … 1:25 AM - Apr 24, 2018 Could a California bill ban Christian teaching on homosexuality?
