Slovak government drops gay agenda in hopes of getting re-elected

Image
The socialist government of Slovakia has dropped its National Action Plan for advancing the LGBT agenda in the predominantly Roman Catholic country , according to a gay rights advocacy group funded by the European Union . The retreat is a victory for the Alliance for the Family (AZR), a coalition of church and civil organizations that has opposed the Social Democratic government's efforts to develop a National Action Plan for LGBT rights to please the European Union. According to ILGA ( International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association ) Europe , "The Slovak government abandoned its plan to adopt a National Action Plan on LGBTI Equality, stating it should be a matter for the next government." ILGA pronounced itself "very disappointed and dismayed" at the Jan. 13 announcement. The next parliamentary elections are set for March. Four years into the drafting by the usual coalition of bureaucrats and operatives from pro-LGBT human

On defending marriage and responding to pro-homosexual rants

Image
Two years ago, I was asked to speak at our state capitol on behalf of the Marriage Amendment. The hearing was in a center room surrounded by a hallway . Those preparing to speak were kept in the hall until their time to address the amendment.  As I waited in the hallway, I was approached by a man who supported redefining marriage to include unions between members of the same sex. He was quite nice and reasonable in the beginning. "I imagine you're going to be speaking for the amendment on marriage?" he began. "Yes," I replied. "Well, don't you believe in freedom?"  To this I responded: "So long as that freedom falls in line with my convictions and Christian beliefs ."  That seemed to curtail his argument for the moment, but he persisted: "Surely you believe that love is the highest goal and that two people should be able to love one another regardless of their sexual orientation." "It is not merely my pers

Liberal - German diocese discusses special ritual to bless gay couples

Image
The Diocese of Limburg , in Frankfurt, Germany , is discussing a special ritual to bless homosexual couples. One of two new appointees in the diocese for pastoral care to homosexuals is a Jesuit priest who admits already offering blessings in private. The German newspaper Die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reported the following on December 11 about Father Ansgar Wucherpfennig, the rector of the Jesuit Graduate School of Philosophy and Theology: Wucherpfennig said that he had already blessed homosexual couples, as did other priests, too, but not in a public service. It needs a special sensitivity in order to establish a specific ritual [for the blessing of homosexuals]. As the   Dean   of the Catholic Church of Frankfurt, Father Johannes zu Eltz , announced, the program has been approved by the Diocese of Limburg. And, as the FAZ reports, zu Eltz “announced a first discussion about a Church blessing and ceremony for homosexuals.” He called it a “question of justice

Caribbean Christians resist homosexual agenda

Image
Christians in many Caribbean territories being pressured by developed countries and international agencies to normalize homosexuality are joining in prayer and sharing resources to defend family values and Bible-taught sexual mores. In a shrewd appeal to nationalist sentiment as well as biblical truth, Barbadian sociologist Veronica Evelyn told a rally of approximately 6,000 islanders gathered at Bridgetown's Bay Street Esplanade on November 22, "A handful of wealthy nations in North America and Europe have decided to turn the world upside-down, to deconstruct society with new, ungodly versions of family and marriage." The rally was an attempt to mobilize Christian churches to become actively involved in public affairs, including sexual rights issues. Dr. Evelyn, a key organizer of the event, warned, "Today, family, faith and freedom are under severe and persistent attack in Barbados, the entire Caribbean, and across the world." Archbishop of Canterbury: I’d attend my child’s gay ‘wedding’

Image
Al Mohler set the challenge. Namely, to attend a gay marriage is to be supportive, to endorse to celebrate what God condemns.  The leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion says that "of course" he would attend a same-sex "marriage" ceremony. In an interview with   Spectator , the Archbishop of Canterbury , Justin Welby , said that he would "always love" his children if they were sexually attracted to the same sex. He intimated a connection between loving his children and attending a "marriage" ceremony between members of the same sex. "Would I pray for them together? You bet I would, absolutely," he stated. "Would I pray with them together? If they wanted me to. If they had a civil service of marriage, would I attend? Of course I would." While the Church of England formally opposes redefining marriage, Welby said, "I think the tide is turning in this country. We are seeing many churches growing and pa

Five confused Dominicans claim Aquinas endorses ‘homosexual love’

St. Thomas Aquinas (c. 1225-1274), the eponym of Thomism. Picture by Fra Angelico (c. 1395-1455). (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Five Dominicans, four friars and one sister, have jointly published a short but sharp refutation of the thesis of another son of Saint Dominic , Fr Adriano Oliva, who has published a book claiming that homosexual love justifies homosexual acts even though plain sodomy is still a grave sin. His sophistry is put bare by Fr. Bernard Blankenhorn, Sr. Catherine Joseph Droste and Fr. Efrem Jindráček, all of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the “Angelicum” in Rome ) and Fr. Dominic Legge and Fr. Thomas Joseph White of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, DC. Their text was published on Friday   by First Things . A few months have passed since Fr. Adriano Oliva, an Italian Dominican friar working in France, published his book claiming homosexuality is “natural.” InAmours (“Loves”, its French title ) he claims Saint Thomas Aquinas reco

Ashley Madison - and sexual deviance

In recent days, many Americans have reveled in the hypocrisy of a number of well-known people revealed as subscribers to the Ashley Madison pro-adultery website. But there is a far more important revelation from the hackings: the alarming number who signed up for the site—33 million people. That startling statistic reminds us that no one is immune to sexual temptation. It also shows how far modern society has drifted from the idea that marriage is a permanent and exclusive union. Some people may be inclined to blame the breakdown of marriage on gays and lesbians, but as the Ashley Madison hack should make clear, heterosexuals are to blame for the breakdown of marriage. Long before there was a debate about same-sex anything, far too many heterosexuals bought into a bad liberal ideology about sexuality that came out of the sexual revolution. It was heterosexuals in the ’60s and ’70s who began to live as if marriage should last only as long as the romantic feelings last, replacing “as
