The national newspapers reporting of the freedom-sapping effects of same-sex marriage legislation is a potential game-changer in the long-running debate. After years of the gay lobby saying there were no consequences to changing the definition of marriage , suddenly mainstream media is waking up to the fact that this is not true. Concerns that ACL and others have raised for years about the impacts on freedom of speech and religion are now being taken seriously by serious journalists. ATLANTA, Georgia ,- The Centers for Disease Control 's "National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey" (NISVS) has found that homosexuals disproportionately suffer violence, and inflict violence on one another. The CDC   survey   is the first of its kind to present comparisons of victimization by sexual orientation for men and women. Its data indicate that homosexuals experience sexual violence at much higher rates than heterosexual men and women. Twenty-six percent of homosexual men and 37% of bisexual men experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner. Forty-four percent of lesbians and 61% of bisexual women experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Half (48%) of bisexual women who have been raped experienced their first completed rape between the ages of 11 and 17 years. For the first time, a majority of Americans say that homosexuals are "born that way."  According to the latest Gallup poll , 51 percent of Americans say that people are born gay or lesbian, while only 30 percent say outside factors such as upbringing and environment determine sexual orientation. However, science would not bear that out. No fewer than  eight major studies from around the world have found homosexuality is not a genetic condition . Peter Sprigg of the   Family Research Council   says that these numerous, rigorous studies of identical twins have now made it impossible to argue that there is a "gay gene." If homosexuality were inborn and predetermined, then when one identical twin is homosexual, the other should be, as well. MONTGOMERY, Alabama  – Pockets of resistance to the Supreme Court's judicial activism in constitutionalizing homosexual "marriage" are cropping up across the United States . Not isolated pockets, either. Large, organized pockets. The latest groups to officially resist Obergefell v Hodges include Alabama pediatricians and an entire church denomination, petitioning the state Supreme Court to disobey federal law in order to "protect" churches, families, and children. The American College of Pediatricians (ACP) submitted a " Friend of the Court " brief November 6. "It is in the best interest of children and this State to preserve the fundamental and immutable nature of marriage between one man and one woman," the brief reads. A Tasmanian woman (transgender - Green Candidate for Federal Parliament)  is taking the Catholic Archbishop of Hobart to the Anti-Discrimination Commission over the contents of a booklet sent to Catholics around Australia earlier this year about same-sex marriage. Here, Associate Professor of Law, Neil Foster examines the basis of the claim. There are press reports (see also here ) that the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Hobart is being sued under s 17 of Tasmania’s Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 for causing “offence” or “humiliation”. This was alleged to have been done by the Archbishop causing to be sent to Roman Catholic schools in his diocese, a booklet outlining the church views on marriage, and in particular expressing the well-known opposition of the church to the introduction of same sex marriage.
