Maryland Senate quashes ‘transgender’ equality bill

Image
Image via Wikipedia Maryland Senators today voted to quash a bill that would have added ‘transgender’ as a protected class when it comes to employment, credit, and housing discrimination. The bill, called “ Gender Identity Anti-Discrimination Act,” had been much-debated, even among gay rights activists, with some calling Senate members “discriminatory” for seemingly delaying its passage and others crying for its rejection, saying the bill did not go far enough in protection. Sponsored by Delegate Joseline Pena-Melnyk , the bill passed the House previously in an 86-52 vote , but bounced around in Senate committees until supporters worried no action would be possible.  Senate President Thomas Mike Miller, who is opposed to same-sex “marriage” legislation, was accused of breaking protocol and delaying the bill by sending it to the Rules Committee rather than a committee that would scrutinize the legislation and quickly send it to the Senate floor for a vote. The bill came up fo

Appeals court: Louisiana not forced to recognize out-of-state homosexual privileges

Image
Image via Wikipedia An appeals court has ruled against two homosexual men who were attempting to force the state of Louisiana to change the birth certificate of the child they adopted to list two “fathers.” The couple, hailing from New York, had adopted a child born in Louisiana in 2006 and both wanted to be listed as the child’s father; they filed suit against Louisiana State Registrar Darlene W. Smith when the latter said it wasn’t possible. The men argued that the refusal, or the state law on which the refusal relied, amounted to a violation of the Full Faith and Credit (FFC) Clause of the U.S. Constitution because the state ignored a decree obtained in New York that allowed them to adopt. The FFC Clause has been a linchpin for homosexual activists seeking to export recognition of same-sex “marriage” to other states. Although a 5th Circuit Court panel  ruled in favor  of the couple in February 2010, the case failed to survive when considered by the full court, which issued i

Militant gays hurt people

Image
Image via Wikipedia Earlier this year, gay marriage advocates petitioned CNN to silence pro-family advocates and censor their "dangerous anti-gay rhetoric" from the airwaves. Three weeks ago, radical activists in Michigan tried to get a young woman fired–for the second time!—for a letter to the editor she wrote 3 years ago. She's already been wrongfully fired by one employer over the letter, and now they're trying to get her fired from her next job. And now the Human Rights Campaign , the nation's largest same-sex marriage advocacy group, is pressuring 200 of the nation's top law firms to boycott the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) by refusing to represent the House of Representatives in the legal defense of marriage. Starting to see a pattern? Gay marriage groups haven't had major new arguments for a long time. And the American people have heard the equality argument over and over again, but still reject same-sex marriage in powerful numbers.

Homosexual adoptions is not a right

Image
Image via Wikipedia Adoption is an ancient institution which we find in the historical records of many civilizations. On some occasions it was done to take care of orphans or abandoned children, in other cases it was a means of giving continuity to a family that lacked descendants.  Under the influence of Christianity it was accepted that the main reason to adopt a child was for the benefit of the child, when he lacked parents or his parents were unable to perform their parental duties. It is also perfectly legitimate that when a married couple judges that they can raise more children than they were given naturally, that they may adopt out of a spirit of charity and generosity to foster the good of the children. With activists campaigning for adoption rights for homosexual couples, however, it is time to consider some basic truths, and recall why it is both just and crucial that we prevent such false and destructive “rights” from being codified in the laws of our states and our na

Students observe Gays target Catholic Schools again

Image
Image via Wikipedia Daniel Costain, a grade 12 student and budding activist at Sarnia ’s St. Patrick Catholic High School, is concerned that Ontario ’s Catholic schools are actually becoming a tool to subvert the Catholic Church’s teachings on sexual morality – particularly in the area of homosexuality . “I feel like [the Catholic schools are] being pressured by all the gay lobbyist groups that are just chomping at the bit to get into our system,” he told LifeSiteNews. Over the last year, the Catholic school boards in Ontario have signed on to a controversial province-mandated equity and inclusive education strategy.  Pro-family activists have warned that it is aimed at giving homosexual activists a foothold in the Catholic schools. Costain says he was moved to act earlier this year when the head of his Catholic school board revealed they were partnering with the “ gay and lesbian community ” to develop strategies for promoting “equity.” Paul Wubben, director of education for th

Mandated gay clubs in Catholic schools can’t help students overcome homosexuality: Ontario gvmt

Image
Image via Wikipedia Ontario Catholic schools will not be permitted to use the support groups that are being mandated under the government’s controversial equity and inclusive education strategy to counsel homosexual students to “reform their sexuality.” The government revealed the unprecedented challenge to the province’s publicly-funded Catholic education system. Some Catholics have suggested that the student-led support groups for homosexuals could be used as a means to provide authentic pastoral support based on Catholic Church teaching. But the Ministry of Education told LifeSiteNews that that won’t fly.  “Groups for LGBT students that counsel the students to reform their sexuality or try to stop them from being gay are not considered consistent with the ministry’s equity policy which is to support students,” said Mike Feenstra, press secretary for Minister of Education Leona Dombrowsky . The Ministry’s demand stands in direct opposition to the teachings of the Catholic Ch

Aggressive homosexual ideology silencing Christians: senior Cardinal

Image
Image via Wikipedia An “aggressive ideology ,” a behavioral theory of “complete debauchery,” is loose in the world, and appears to be winning against the traditional Christian culture of the west, said Cardinal Giacomo Biffi . The cleric made the remarks in a book of memoirs, titled “The Inconvenient Memoirs,” which has been republished and launched today in Rome with an additional section on the dangers of the homosexualist ideology. In these “shattered” times, the cardinal said, the new ideologies have resulted in an “intellectual blindness” and in the silencing of Christians who are intimidated by persecution by homosexuals and their ideological accomplices. But in the end, the cardinal wrote, the Church will not be defeated: “We are with the Lord of History.” The archbishop-emeritus of Bologna and dogmatic theologian is known to have been one of Joseph Ratzinger ’s strongest supporters in the last conclave and was briefly considered a contender for the papal throne himself
