How to confront the ‘Day of Silence’ and other LGBT propaganda in schools

Image
USA High schools (and many middle schools ) across the country will be hosting the LGBT movement ’s annual “ Day of Silence .” During this all-day event, student activists and even school officials encourage students to be silent for the entire day as a sign of solidarity with the international LGBT movement. Students are encouraged to wear special pro-homosexual badges, stickers, and bracelets -- which are often handed out at the school entrances that day. There are also pro- LGBT posters in the hallways, handouts, and even workshops. Getting young people to identify emotionally with the overall LGBT movement (going beyond just the “sexual orientation” issue) is very important to the national activists. Besides schools, “Day of Silence” events are also held in colleges and even some workplaces. As with other LGBT programs, in recent years the Day of Silence organizers have shifted their psychological tactic from the “ Civil Rights ” metaphor (which was not resonating much wi

Australia: Telstra promotes immoral LGBT ideology

Image
Australia's largest telco, Telstra , says it has abandoned its public campaign for marriage equality to allow clear air during the proposed plebiscite - not because of pressure from the Catholic church . However, when asked directly about the influence of the church on Telstra's decision, a spokesman declined to say whether pressure behind the scenes had persuaded the telco to back down. Telstra gave its support to Australian Marriage Equality in full-page advertisements published in newspapers last year. The company's logo appeared alongside those of dozens of other big Australian corporations . But the telco's decision to pull out of the public debate followed concerted pressure from the Catholic church's powerful Sydney archdiocese, including a written warning and a meeting between former Telstra chair Catherine Livingstone and Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher. Chief executive Andrew Penn released a statement on Thursday asserting the compan

Louisiana gov.‘s executive order allows state to punish Christians over gay ‘weddings’: family leader

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has signed an executive order that critics say will open the floodgates for discrimination lawsuits to be filed against businesses and will prevent people of faith from freely exercising their religion. The order, which was signed yesterday, adds “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” alongside such immutable characteristics as race, sex, and national origin in the state's anti-discrimination policy. All firms that accept state contracts must adopt a similar policy. “We are fortunate enough to live in a state that is rich with diversity,” said Gov. Edwards on Wednesday. “We do not discriminate based on our disagreements.” Edwards, a Democrat, rescinded an   executive order enacted by former Gov. Bobby Jindal   last May, which prohibits the state from taking any “adverse action” against any person or business who acts on a belief “that marriage is or should be recognized as the union of one man and one woman.” Gov. Jindal pe

Ted Cruz backs NC law: ‘Men should not be going to the bathroom with little girls’

Image
Senator Ted Cruz came out in favor of a North Carolina law prohibiting biological males from using the restrooms, showers, and changing facilities of the opposite biological sex during a town hall meeting in Buffalo last night. Cruz was asked to comment on a law signed by North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory that restricts intimate settings based on biology, rather than " gender identity ." The law has come under intense fire from entertainers, filmmakers, and a powerful coalition of corporate interests threatening to boycott the state until it is reversed. The senator, a former solicitor general of Texas, told NBC's Chuck Todd that, under the constitutional doctrine of federalism, these and other vital decisions are left to the states. "I'm a constitutionalist, and the state has the power to pass their own laws to make a determination that men should not being going to the bathroom with little girls," he said. But he added that his opposi

Facebook removes academics post about same sex marriage - no free speech?

Image
Federal Liberal MP Andrew Hastie has called on Facebook to explain why it deleted a Sydney academic’s post about same-sex marriage and reinstated it only after being quizzed by free-speech advocate Tim Wilson . The post by John Dickson , an ordained Anglican minister and founder of the Centre for Public Christianity, was removed on Saturday because it did not adhere to Facebook’s “community standards”. The 500-word opinion piece, which called for a more respectful debate on the issue of gay marriage, had been reinstated on Sunday night, with Facebook telling Mr Dickson one of its employees had “accidentally” deleted it. Mr Hastie said yesterday he had told Mr Wilson, the former human rights commissioner and a Liberal candidate at the next federal election, about Facebook’s censorship when he heard about it on Sunday. Mr Wilson later spoke to someone he knew in Facebook’s government affairs team and the post was reinstated. Mr Hastie, the MP for the seat of Cannin

Chris Hemsworth’s devastating advice to 4-year-old daughter on gender

Image
Do you tell your sons that they’re not girls, and your daughters that they’re not boys?  If so, you must not be very enlightened. A video of actor Chris Hemsworth explaining how he addressed the subject of “gender fluidity” with his four-year-old daughter shows the progressive view on teaching children about their sexual identity . Hemsworth told his daughter, “You can be whatever you want to be,” when she told him she wanted the same genitals as her twin brothers . Except, she can’t be.  Hemsworth’s daughter is biologically female, and no amount of surgery or hormone treatments could change that reality. No longer is it normal to tell children, “you’re a boy; you have male body parts” or “you’re a girl; you have female body parts.”    Instead the norm has become   to respond to children’s questions about gender with powerful hormone blockers and insistence that they embrace transgender identities. I wish Hemsworth could read the heartbreaking stories of people wh

LGBT activist drops complaint against Australian bishops over marriage booklet

Image
A Tasmanian LGBT activist and Green Party candidate has withdrawn his discrimination complaint against the Australian Catholic Church over a booklet on marriage he claimed had caused “pain and harm” to people. At issue was the pastoral letter,  Messing with Marriage , issued in booklet form and reportedly distributed to Catholic school children. It explained Catholic opposition to same-sex “marriage” and defended heterosexual marriage as “holy,” God-given and linked inextricably with procreation and child-rearing. It is still being distributed in anticipation of a promised plebiscite on the issue later in the year. The Tasmanian anti-discrimination commission, which had the option of pursuing the matter even when the complainant withdraws, has announced it is dropping the matter too. The Institute of Public Affairs ’ Simon Breheny hailed the decision as a “victory for freedom of speech and freedom of religion. The laws that allowed for this complaint to be made should

He’s transgender. He identifies as female, and he’s against transgender men using the women’s room

Many social liberals, especially transgender activists, have labored to pass ordinances in cities and states guaranteeing members of one biological sex unfettered access to the intimate facilities of the opposite sex. While they often portray those who oppose such laws as hateful, supporting such laws is   de rigueur   for anyone who is transgender. But one transgender person is speaking out against the burgeoning number of “bathroom bills,” saying they victimize women and children . “I am a transwoman and a parent, but I totally reject this law,” says Jaqueline Sephora Andrews, who was born male but now identifies as female. “It’s a law that allows for any man to be able to say he’s a woman and access women’s spaces.” Andrews speaks at approximately the nine-minute mark of an 11-minute-long video released yesterday by the   Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) . The video's other speakers have been impacted by rape or sexual assault, one way or another, and say giv
