Piers Morgan cleared after flood of complaints for labeling Christian views ‘homophobic’

Image
British TV host Piers Morgan has been investigated and cleared of improper behaviour during an aggressive on-air interview in which he accused fired magistrate Richard Page of “ homophobia ” several times because of his Christian view of marriage . Informed of the decision by LifeSiteNews while holidaying in Germany, Page said, “It doesn’t bother me, after all the aggravation I’ve had over this. But he [Morgan] really wasn’t interested in hearing my side. I think he just kept saying, ‘You’re homophobic’ over and over because he couldn’t think of what other questions to ask.” Morgan, the co-host of ITV’s Good Morning Great Britain, was interviewing Page after the magistrate of 15 years was suspended a year ago and then, last month, fired outright by the government for comments to other judges and then to the BBC about a child custody case. He told the BBC: “Because a baby comes from a man and a woman it made me think that the child would be better off with a father and a m

Spanish bishops denounce ‘totalitarian’ transgender bathroom law

Image
Three Spanish bishops are telling the faithful that a law passed recently by the Spanish province of Madrid that requires school bathrooms and dressing rooms to allow opposite-sex “transgender” students is “unjust” and therefore “obligates no one in conscience.” The transgender law is an “iniquitous” one that “gravely assaults the fifth commandment of the law of God , and facilitates the violation of the sixth and ninth commandments,” the bishops write in a joint declaration issued late last month. The law, according to the bishops, reflects a “totalitarian way of thinking: the absolutization of the will that seeks to be the only creator of the human person,” and warn that society is being subjected to “a totalitarian authority that, in the name of liberty, seeks to abolish any moral norm that impedes the rule of absolute freedom of technology.” Madrid ’s new “ Law of Identity and Gender Expression and Social Equality and Non-Discrimination”  declares  that “Every person

All conservatives agree: Stop harassing Christian bakers, florists, and wedding planners

Pro and anti-Proposition 8 protesters rally in front of the San Francisco City Hall as the California Supreme Court holds a session in the to determine the definition of marriage (Strauss v. Horton cases). (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) While those who broadly consider themselves part of the “conservative movement” are not united on the definition of marriage, they all agree on one thing: the war on conscience is stifling, intemperate, and must come to an end. At CPAC , the premier annual conservative political gathering, a panel of experts discussed marriage and the intensifying pressure for Christians to “bend to the will of the state.” Two of the panelists supported marriage, while two supported the redefinition of marriage . Guy Benson , the political editor of   Townhall.com , who is openly homosexual, said the definition of marriage may not be guaranteed by the Constitution. However, he thinks all states should be required to recognize the marriage licenses issued elsewhe

CPAC allows LGBTQ group as sponsor for first time, risks pro-family backlash

Image
As the Conservative Political Action Conference got underway, they faced strong criticism for welcoming a Republican homosexual activist group as a sponsor for the first time. The Log Cabin Republicans   state on their website   that their group exists solely to “make the Republican Party more inclusive, particularly on gay and lesbian issues.” “Working from inside the Party—educating other Republicans about gay and lesbian issues—is the most effective way to gain new Republican allies for equality,” the group’s website states . “We believe equality for LGBT Americans is in the finest tradition of the Republican Party,” it adds.  “Equality” has become the rallying cry behind the LGBTQ movement and has led to the illicit overturning of the Defense of Marriage Act , the imprisonment of Kim Davis, and crippling fines leading to bankruptcy of numerous Christian florists, bakers, and photographers who have refused on moral grounds to support two people of the same sex calling

Marco Rubio appoints pro homosexual to finance?

Image
Marco Rubio is staunchly pro- marriage , but he’s facing questions after the revelation that he is appointing Paul Singer , a major gay “marriage” proponent, as his campaign finance chairman. Politico speculated that the choice is part of a Wall Street campaign to stop Donald Trump .  Merco Press   claimed   the choice "shows just how willing Rubio is to risk voter backlash in order to continue raising money for his campaign march." Singer founded the hedge fund Elliot Management Corporation,   and is worth about $2.2 billion according to Forbes . In 2012, he started a Super PAC devoted to promoting the gay agenda , personally donating $1 million. Fortune   reports   that since endorsing Rubio in October, Singer has become one of Rubio’s top donors. Rubio is expected to formally announce the pick on March 10. Singer isn't the only pro-homosexual in Rubio's inner circle.  The candidate's deputy campaign manager, Rich Beeson,   signed a legal brief

Judge upholds true marriage in Puerto Rico, says SCOTUS decision doesn’t apply

Image
A federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Supreme Court's decision legalizing same-sex "marriage" nationwide doesn't apply to Puerto Rico. "One might be tempted to assume that the constant reference made to the 'States' in Obergefell includes the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico ," wrote U.S. District Court Judge Juan Pérez-Giménez in a 10-page decision. "Yet, it is not the role of this court to venture into such an interpretation." According to Pérez-Giménez, Puerto Rico's status as an "unincorporated territory" means that it "is not treated as the functional equivalent of a State for purposes of the Fourteenth Amendment ." This is especially true because "'the Constitution applies in full in incorporated Territories surely destined for statehood but only in part in unincorporated Territories.'" he wrote. The full ruling   is contrary to an opinion by the First Circuit Court of Appeals ,

Georgia Gov. Deal blasts religious freedom bill, says opposing same-sex ‘marriage’ is unChristian

Image
Georgia's Republican governor has come out strongly against proposed legislation protecting clergy and others from being forced to participate in or condone so-called homosexual "marriages." Citing the Bible and the fact he was a Southern Baptist who's taken religion courses, Nathan Deal said opposition to homosexual "marriage" doesn't square with Christ's teaching and that Republicans advocating for the Georgia religious liberty bill should step back and "recognize that the world is changing around us." (Has he read his Bible?) "What the New Testament teaches us is that Jesus reached out to those who were considered the outcasts, the ones that did not conform to the religious societies' view of the world," Deal said. "We do not have a belief in my way of looking at religion that says we have to discriminate against anybody. If you were to apply those standards to the teaching of Jesus, I don't think th

David Cameron who approved homosexual marriage says: Britain is still a Christian country?

Image
Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg deliver Easter messages despite being atheists. David Cameron has used his Easter message to the country to declare that Britain is still a Christian country , as he urged the nation to “speak out” over the persecution of the faithful around the world. The Prime Minister and the other party leaders shared Easter messages - even though some, including Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat Deputy Prime Minister, and Labour’s Ed Miliband, are self-proclaimed non-believers. In his message, Mr Cameron said: “Across Britain, Christians don’t just talk about ‘loving thy neighbour’, they live it out… in faith schools, in prisons, in community groups. "And it’s for all these reasons that we should feel proud to say, ‘This is a Christian country.’ The church is not just a collection of beautiful old buildings. It is a living, active force doing great works across our country. David Cameron: Same-sex marriage was one of my proudest achievements in 2014 Prime Min

Iowa Senate passes law granting hate crime protections based on gender identity

Image
A divisive party line vote of 27-21 in the Iowa Senate added gender self-identity or "expression" to an anti-discrimination hate crimes list. The   legislation  punishes the offender with financial penalties for "injunctive relief, general and special damages, reasonable attorneys fees, and costs." The bill also criminalizes any offense against someone because of his or her association with a transgender or transsexual individual. "When states like Iowa attempt to add gender identity and gender expression to its Hate Crime statutes, it only demonstrates that lunacy prevails in the secular progressive movement," Jen Wozniak of   the American Family Association   (AFA) told LifeSiteNews in an email.  "The sexual anarchists among us insist that there is no difference between male and female, and they also insist we agree with them – or else." All 26 Democrats voted for the bill, with Republican Sen. Charles Schneider (West Des Moines)
