The governors and attorneys general of 16 states are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a lower court’s judgment this year that gender-confused individuals are covered by the Civil Rights Act. The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in March that Title VII of the 1964 law, which was passed to end racial segregation and hiring discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, ethnicity, or national origin, also extends to employees who wish to “identify” as the opposite of their biological sex. The case was sparked by a Detroit funeral home that fired a male employee who wanted to present himself as a woman while on duty, in defiance of the home’s dress code. “Discrimination on the basis of transgender and transitioning status is necessarily discrimination on the basis of sex,” Judge Karen Nelson Moore ruled. Transgender activists have been accused of attempting to shut down debate, as a former children’s minister said that young people’s welfare is being “sacrificed on the altar of political correctness”. Paul LePage vetoed legislation on Friday that would have banned therapists from helping minors overcome unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion. Sometimes called “conversion therapy” or reparative therapy, the left and the LGBT movement have made banning it a priority. LD 912 sought to forbid people from “advertis[ing], offer[ing] or administer[ing] conversion therapy to individuals under 18 years of age,” with “conversion therapy” defined as “practice or treatment that seeks to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity.” It contained an exception for clergy but threatened to suspend or revoke the licenses of medical professionals, school guidance counsellors, or school psychologists. “This is so broad that licensed professionals would be prohibited from counseling an individual even at the individual's own request,” LePage said of the bill in his veto message

A Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled that the “truth” of statements made by a Christian about a transgender political candidate’s biological sex is “not relevant” and cannot be used as a “defence” against allegations that the Christian was engaging in “hate” speech. Christian and pro-family activist Bill Whatcott was hauled before the Tribunal last year on the grounds that he had engaged in “hate” speech for publicly exposing a transgender political candidate who claimed to be female, but who was born a biological male. The complainant, Mr Ronan Oger, who now goes by Ms Morgane Oger, was a candidate in the 2017 provincial election. Oger is the Vice-President of B.C.’s New Democratic Party (NDP). An Ontario Liberal bill that legal experts warn gives the state greater power to seize children and can be used to enforce gender ideology in the home sailed unopposed through second reading last week. A North Carolina school board has issued recommendations for faculty and staff to stop calling male children "boys" and female students "girls." The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools gave a presentation to principals and counselors entitled “Supporting Transgender Students” that focused on "bully prevention." Among the various means of preventing bullying is eliminating all references to boys or girls. Instead, the policy instructs staff to call boys and girls "students" or "scholars." The presentation explained a new set of guidelines for faculty and staff to follow regarding transgender students. For instance, teachers will be required to "work with students" to help them determine their sexual orientation. The new guidelines clearly consider student privacy a priority over parental rights. The Obama administration has sued to stop North Carolina from enforcing a state law barring members of one biological sex from using the restrooms or intimate accommodations of the opposite sex, saying that doing so “causes significant and irreparable physical, psychological, economic, social, and stigmatic harm to transgender people.” The complaint states that relying upon biology to determine a person's sex is “medically inaccurate,” and says that repealing H.B. 2 will have no impact on sexual assault, because rape is already illegal. The administration is seeking a preliminary injunction against the state's H.B. 2 law, which requires people to use the restroom of the sex that is listed on their birth certificate. The announcement comes a month after the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest LGBT advocacy group, accused Christian institutions of “hidden discrimination” for obtaining Title IX waivers. The same day HRC released its report , Sen. What goes on in the “ gay straight alliance ” clubs in high schools – and now in middle schools – across the country? What happens to kids that are persuaded to join them? We had a chance to see it up close – at one of their statewide events. And it’s worse than anyone realizes. As we’ve often warned people, these clubs bring kids into contact with radical adults, bizarre homosexual and transgender activists, sexually oriented literature and paraphernalia, and a heavy dose of destructive LGBT sinful ideology. On Saturday, May 21, 2016 the “Massachusetts Youth Pride ” event was held at Boston City Hall Plaza . It’s an annual gathering for middle school and high school “gay straight alliance” (GSA) clubs across the state. The event is organized by various outside adult homosexual and transgender activist groups .
