That’s a difficult question and a lot of it depends on what we mean by that phrase. So, let’s take the person who says, “I was born gay,” and they mean they have some genetic causation for their attraction to people of the same sex. I would say we can look at the latest scientific literature, which does not strongly support that conclusion.  In fact, the official language from the leading psychiatric or psychological associations will say that we don’t yet know of definitive causation and that it’s probably some mix of nature and nurture. So any reports about a so-called “gay gene” are greatly exaggerated. So that’s one thing we could say. When Rachel Colvin, a teacher at Ballarat Christian College, refused to sign a new statement of faith that had been strengthened following the same-sex marriage plebiscite, she set in train an anti-discrimination case which captures the issues at the heart of Australia’s religious discrimination debate. She should have stood down immediately. But she aligned herself with people who are clearly anti-God and anti-scripture while still claiming to be a Christian.  The school’s new statement says  “God designed the two genders, male and female, for the purpose of joy and procreation within the sole relationship of marriage. So marriage can only be between a male and a female, and upon this foundation alone should children be conceived and families formed.”  Although a very liberal Christian, Colvin disagreed. A third United Kingdom venue has canceled an appearance by American missionary Franklin Graham.  Earlier this week, stadiums in the English cities of Sheffield and   Liverpool   bowed to pressure from LGBT activists and their “allies” to bar Graham, the son of the world-famous evangelist Billy Graham, from preaching.   Now Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Hydro has done the same.  Pauline Gallagher  said  she was “saddened” that the Protestant evangelical had been barred from her city.  “I am saddened beyond words that Billy Graham's son has been banned from speaking in Glasgow,” Gallagher said.  “The dividing line is not between religious and LGBT. ACC Liverpool has illegally canceled an event that is part of an upcoming Franklin Graham tour in the U.K., citing “a number of statements which we consider to be incompatible with our values.” Saying they have recently become aware of some of Graham’s opinions, ACC Liverpool posted a statement on January 24, announcing, We can no longer reconcile the balance between freedom of speech and the divisive impact this event is having in our city. Christian Evangelist Franklin Graham penned an open letter to the LGBTQ community in the United Kingdom after an event there was canceled for "incompatible" statements . The son of the late Billy Graham was labeled a "homophobic hate preacher" by the Liverpool Labour LGBT Network, who wrote in a letter that they fear  "Graham's appearance may incite hateful mobilization and risk the security of our LGBTQ+ community.  We are writing for support from our locally elected council representatives in response to the platforming of homophobic hate preacher Franklin Graham at the M&S Arena on the 12th of June 2020.  We fear that with such a high profile event gaining traction, Graham’s appearance may incite hateful mobilisation and risk the security of our LGBTQ+ community.  We ask the council to stand with our community in counter mobilisation, including refusing to host Graham’s roadshow at venues where the local authority has a stake." A person in Louisville connected to the Whitefield Academy e-mails with more details about what has happened to the school and its personnel since the gay kid with the long list of disciplinary issues was dismissed the other day. The Head of the School, has received death threats against his home, his person, his family, and of course his place of work, as has the High School principal.  The school itself has received, via social media and the mail, threats of harm, danger, murder, mayhem, attack, and destruction. There was a threat for teachers to watch themselves in the parking lot getting into their cars, that they would be targets. One teacher was actually attacked unsuccessfully (perhaps the only real intention of the perp was to scare her) by a close call from a car feigning a sideswipe while she was getting in. The U.S. Navy has begun construction on a ship that will be christened the “USNS Harvey Milk” after the murdered San Francisco Supervisor who made history in the 1970s as California’s first openly homosexual elected official.    The man the U.S. Navy has chosen to honor was also a homosexual pederast. Despite Milk’s reputation for sexual predation, he has been lionized by the media, by Hollywood, and multiple times by former Democrat President Barack Obama.  Harvey Milk and San Francisco Mayor George Moscone were assassinated by Dan White, a former police officer, and former city supervisor, on Nov. 27, 1978. The Hallmark Channel has reversed its decision to stop airing four commercials featuring same-sex “weddings” and will now allow the controversial adverts to be aired. Hallmark initially decided to stop airing four commercials for the wedding planning website Zola.com after a backlash from viewers. The ad that sparked the backlash ended with two women, one in a white suit and the other in a white dress, kissing. The other ads that were pulled also featured same-sex kisses. But on Sunday, Hallmark announced that pulling the ads was the “wrong decision” after the channel came in for criticism from several celebrities. Over and over again, the secular age of the 21st century presents Christians with a deadly logic: keep up or die. This requires the refashioning and remaking of Christian doctrine, theology, and convictions all in the name of cultural relevance—either get on the right side of history or you will be history. These kinds of arguments especially arise over issues of gender and sexuality. Just last week, this threat emerged in the form of an article at Religion News Service by David P. Gushee. The headline of the article read, “Christian Higher Ed Can’t Win the LGBTQ Debate Unless it Transforms.” Headlines can often tell us quite a bit about the author and his or her argument, and this headline is no different. Apparently, the headline indicates that there is a LGBTQ debate taking place within Christian institutions of higher learning and those institutions are losing the battle.
