The Stormont assembly failed to fully assemble Monday in a last effort to block two sweeping “reforms” imposed on Northern Ireland by the United Kingdom, meaning abortion will be decriminalized and same-sex “marriage” recognized in the province by midnight.  Homosexual marriage is and always will be an affront against God, marriage and biology.  In July, the UK Parliament voted 328-65 to repeal Sections 58 and 59 of Northern Ireland’s 1861 Offences Against the Person Act, which forbid both women and doctors from committing abortions, as well as to recognize same-sex “marriage.” Complicating the issue was the fact that Northern Ireland’s assembly has been suspended for more than two years and has been unable to reach an agreement on reconvening. According to the newest British Social Attitudes Survey, Britons’ acceptance of homosexual activity has declined for the first time since 1987 and the onset of the AIDS crisis. In 1983, the British Social Attitudes Survey (BSA) found that eight out of every 10 persons surveyed considered sexual relations between persons of the same sex objectionable. Until now, the number of Britons who are indifferent or accepting of sodomy has increased. The latest survey, however, found that the number of Britons accepting sodomy as normal has fallen.  According to the latest numbers, about one third of those surveyed are opposed to sodomy. A petition supporting two British children suspended from school for their Christian faith has attracted more than 11,000 signatures. Ten-year-old Kaysey and Farrell are both pupils of Heavers Farm Primary School in Croydon, a neighbourhood in South London. Last month, the children, a girl and a boy, asked their teacher if they could be excused from a lesson in which they were asked to color in LGBT “Pride Month” material. Although the children cited their religious objections, he refused and afterward allegedly accused them of “homophobic language.” According to Christian Concern, a legal advocacy group, Farrell was accused of having said “LGBT sucks and LGBT’s dumb,” which he denies. The teacher asked the children if they wanted LGBT people to die, and they said that they didn’t. They said, however, that in their countries of origin they would be punished for being gay. Last month, a docker in Northern England was informed by the police in Humberside that he would be the subject of a formal investigation for tweeting out a limerick about transgender people. Several weeks after that, the police in Suffolk contacted a 74-year-old woman, and an officer asked her to stop tweeting comments critical of transgender ideology and to perhaps consider deleting some of her previous social media posts. And now, the Daily Mail reported over the weekend, it turns out that a 38-year-old mother was arrested in front of her children and locked up in a cell at the police station by the Hertfordshire Police back in December for having an argument with a transgender activist on Twitter. Members of the public in the United Kingdom are facing investigation by the police and criminal charges if they dare to challenge gender ideology on social media. The week before last, Harry Miller, 53, a plant and machinery dealer and married father of four, reported on Twitter that he had been contacted by Humberside Police at his workplace.  The police cited a series of 30 tweets which were deemed to be potentially “offensive.” Amongst them was a limerick written by a feminist which questioned whether transgender “women” can't be a biological woman. The simple words “man” and “woman” have become lightning rods as transgender ideology permeates every level of society, but one radio host in the United Kingdom just took a forceful stand against redefining terms that have been universally understood for centuries. This week, talk radio Breakfast Show presenter Julia Hartley-Brewer  held a segment  on the issue of men who “identify” as women being held in women’s prisons. A record number of male inmates in England and Wales claim to be female, a subject that’s garnered controversy in no small part due to cases like that of Stephen Wood, who  assaulted four female inmates  after being housed in a women’s facility because he “identifies” as “Karen White.” According to the Ministry of Justice, there is at least one “trans” inmate in every prison in the UK. Traffic lights are the newest way localities have found to express solidarity with the homosexual agenda...in Manchester, at least. August 24-27 will see the annual Manchester Pride Festival , an event featuring an LGBT “pride” parade, a candlelight vigil for victims of HIV, a variety of musical performances, film premieres and art displays, dancing, karaoke, and more. A doctor who has worked for 26 years with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) has been “sacked” for refusing to use transgendered patients’ incorrect, “preferred” pronouns.    The treatment of the 55-year-old father of four who believes that sex is biological and not a matter of personal preference raises questions about the chilling effect that pro-LGBT policies of government agencies have on freedom of speech , especially when it comes to Christians.     Multiple  reports  from UK  media  indicate that Dr. David Mackereth was “deemed to be ‘unfit to work’ after he said he would refuse to identify patients by their preferred gender.”  Mackereth had sought a new position within NHS as a disability assessor for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The United Kingdom plans to impose a nationwide ban on any practice of reparative or “conversion” therapy for individuals experiencing same-sex attraction, unwanted or not, the government announced in a new report. “[T]he abhorrent practice of conversion therapy is still alive in our country,” the Government Equalities Office (GEO) announced in its newly-released LGBT Action Plan for “improving the lives” of LGBT people. “We will bring forward proposals to end the practice of conversion therapy in the UK, and take further action on hate crime as part of our upcoming refresh of the 2016 Hate Crime Action Plan.” The 4.5-million-pound ($5.9 million) report surveyed more than 108,000 LGBT individuals, NBC News reports . The recent decision of the England and Wales Court of Appeal in  Pemberton v Inwood  [2018] EWCA Civ 564 (22 March 2018) upholds what was in effect disciplinary action taken against a Church of England clergyman, the Reverend Canon Jeremy Pemberton, on account of his entering into a same-sex marriage. The decision is a sensible one which upholds the religious freedom of the Anglican church to operate in accordance with its fundamental religious beliefs. 1. Background Canon Pemberton is not a “beneficed” clergyman with the care of a parish, but is an ordained priest in the Church of England, who married a same-sex partner in April 2014, after the commencement in the UK of the  Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 . That Act contains very clear statements that the Church of England doctrine of marriage is not to be impacted by the change in “secular” law (see eg s 1(3) which explicitly preserves the operation of any Canons of church law providing that marriage should be
