The judge who said NO - to homosexual marriage

Image
photograph of the justices, cropped to show Justice Scalia (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Scalia’s significance lies in his commitment to originalism , also known as textualism — the belief that the Constitution of the United States is to be read and understood and applied in keeping with the language, syntax, and vocabulary of its text as understood to be intended by the framers.  This was how the Supreme Court had operated for decades, without even having to express originalism as a method. All that changed in modern decades as the Court and the nation’s liberal legal culture adopted an understanding of the Constitution as an evolving document that was to be interpreted in light of current social needs — even if this required the abandonment of the Constitution as a regulative document. " But much of the torrential outpouring of acid hatred over the past weekend is by activists who still sting from Justice Scalia ’s   dissent from the Obergefell v. Hodges decision legal

Gay Marriage and Abortion – Act of Terror by Supreme Court

Image
Gay Marriage and Abortion – Act of Terror by Supreme Court Last Sunday, Pastor John MacArthur delivered a prophetic word that immediately reminded me of those “ Logic On Fire ” Lloyd-Jones addresses. At the evening message, MacArthur began by telling the congregation that while much that is very helpful has already been said regarding the recent legalization of same-sex “marriage,” he wanted to give additional clarity (you can listen to the message here ). He began by pointing out that our country often delineates our history through acts of terror and war. But he wanted us to know that in his opinion, the two biggest acts of terror our country have faced are both from our Supreme Court: the legalization of abortion, and now the legalization of SSM. How are those two connected? Well, the first attacks mothers, and second attacks families. The first means moms without kids, and the second means kids without moms. “This country talks a lot about terrorist attacks—and rightly so. A

USA - Support for Gay Marriage drops

Image
Crowd in support of Gay Marriage (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) A new national survey released a few days ago by the Associated Press/GfK found that support for same-sex 'marriage' has collapsed. Since the Supreme Court ruling, support for SSM has dropped by 6 points and opposition has increased by 4 points — a combined 10 point movement in public opinion . That is an astonishing degree of movement in such a short period of time! The AP survey found that 42% of Americans support same-sex 'marriage' while 40% now oppose it. Statistically, that is a dead heat. Just this past April, supporters of SSM enjoyed a 12 point advantage, 48%-36%. Since the Supreme Court decision imposing gay 'marriage' in every state, we're now in a whole new ballgame. I am so encouraged by the public reaction to the illegitimate decision of the Supreme Court because it means that NOM's five-point plan to contain and then reverse it has a real chance of capturing the support

Zombie Justices Reign Supreme - they just made homosexual marriage up?

Image
High court's new liberal interpretation of the Constitution may mean the end of law-making as we know it If five U.S. Supreme Court justices can concoct a federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage, what else might they impose? Just about anything on the Left’s agenda. Until barely a decade ago, the laws of every state had always defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman. That was true when the Constitution was first established, and it was true when the 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868. The intelligent citizen will reasonably wonder how five Supreme Court justices could have ruled two weeks ago that these state laws violate the 14th Amendment and that there is a federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage. The short answer: Those five justices were just making it up. Oh, to be sure, Justice Anthony Kennedy ’s majority opinion tries to dress things up in the sort of legal-sounding jargon designed to mystify non-lawyers. But Kennedy and the four liberals

Support for Homosexual marriage dropping since Supreme Court decision

A new national survey conducted by the Associated Press/GfK found that support for same-sex marriage has dropped to only 34%, down six points since April, while opposition is up four points to 34%. In addition, only 39% of Americans support the Supreme Court's same-sex marriage decision, while 41% oppose it. Americans roundly reject the notion advanced by many gay activists that now that the Supreme Court has ruled to redefine marriage, everyone should be compelled to go along with it. The AP/GfK survey found 59% of Americans believe that wedding-related businesses with religious objections should be allowed to refuse service to same-sex couples. Only 39% believe that businesses should be forced to provide wedding services to same-sex couples despite religious objections — an incredible twenty point difference. Moreover, when conflicts arise, 56% of Americans believe the government should act to protect religious liberty rights, and only 39% of Americans believe the governme

John MacArthur responds to the homosexual marriage agenda

Image
If you've been watching the headlines over the last couple years, you may have noticed the incredible surge of interest in affirming homosexuality. Whether it's at the heart of a religious scandal, political corruption, radical legislation, or the redefinition of marriage, homosexual interests have come to characterize America. That's an indication of the success of the gay agenda. And some Christians, including somenational church leaders, have wavered on the issue even recently. But sadly, when people refuse to acknowledge the sinfulness of homosexuality--calling evil good and good evil ( Isaiah 5:20 )--they do so at the expense of many souls. How should you respond to the success of the gay agenda? Should you accept the recent trend toward tolerance? Or should you side with those who exclude homosexuals with hostility and disdain? In reality, the Bible calls for a balance between what some people think are two opposing reactions--condemnation and compassion. Really,

Pastor John Piper’s Response to Gay Marriage Ruling is AMAZING

In a 5-to-4 decision, the Supreme Court of the United States of America has ruled that states cannot ban same-sex marriage. The Bible is not silent about such decisions. Alongside its clearest explanation of the sin of homosexual intercourse ( Romans 1:24–27 ) stands the indictment of the approval and institutionalization of it. Though people know intuitively that homosexual acts (along with gossip, slander, insolence, haughtiness, boasting, faithlessness, heartlessness, ruthlessness) are sin, “they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them” ( Romans 1:29–32 ). “I tell you even with tears, that many glory in their shame” ( Philippians 3:18–19 ). This is what the highest court in our land did today — knowing these deeds are wrong, “yet approving those who practice them.” My sense is that we do not realize what a calamity is happening around us. The new thing — new for America, and new for history — is not homosexuality. That brokenness has been here since we were al
