A contestant on the “reality” TV show  Survivor  lost his new job selling real estate after a  10-month-old episode  aired in which he exposed a rival as being a female-to-male transgender person. Former contestant Jeff Varner , a one-time newscaster with Fox and CBS affiliates, was fired from his new job as a Greensboro, North Carolina , realtor last week after the show was broadcast. It showed Varner, a three-time contestant, outing Zeke Smith, a member of his team or “tribe,” as a biological female. His motivation was obvious. In each episode of the show, filmed on the island in the South Pacific Fiji chain, all contestants vote one person off the island and out of the competition for the end-of-season prize of $1 million. Believing himself to be the next to go, Varner said to show host Jeff Probst , “There is deception here. Women’s shelters must admit men who say they are “transgender” if they receive federal funding, according to a new regulation imposed by the Obama administration . The administration stripped out a provision that would allow shelters to deny a biological male access to the women’s facilities, under narrow circumstances, if they felt it would endanger women’s “health and safety.” The requirement applies to federally funded faith-based shelters and homeless facilities, as well. “Today, we take another important step to ensure full acceptance of transgender and gender nonconforming individuals in the programs HUD supports,” said Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julián Castro on Tuesday when the rule, originally proposed last October , was finalized. The final rule erased a measure that would have let shelters, which often protect women and children from their abusers, refuse to house a man in a women’s shelter based on safety concerns on a “case-by-case basis.”

The question of homosexual marriage presents the American people with an inescapable moral challenge. The words homosexual and marriage are inherently contradictory. The very fact that these terms are in public conflict demonstrates the radical character of the social revolutionaries that now demand the legalization of homosexual marriage. When a 9-year-old boy who identifies as Stormi, a transgender girl, started selling Girl Scout cookies , one neighbor was not amused, according to  Buzzfeed . The neighbor rebuffed him, reportedly saying, “Nobody wants to buy Girl Scout cookies from a boy in a dress.” The neighbor is being called transphobic—but perhaps the neighbor thought he was being pranked by a boy and reacted accordingly. Not everyone assumes that a boy in a dress selling Girl Scout cookies is transgender. People Can Be Genderphobic Stormi looked like a boy to the neighbor because he really is a boy. Transgender people may deceive themselves, but they do not deceive others. Life in society is not some fantasy world where a boy should pretend he has magically transformed himself into a girl simply by uttering the words “I am a girl” and changing how he presents himself.
