Time to protect traditional marriage

Image
The United States Capitol. The official government house of the United States in Washington, D.C. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Congress is once again on vacation, and they still have not acted to introduce legislation to protect people of faith from governmental persecution for living out the truth of marriage in their daily lives and at work. The First Amendment Defense Act needs to be introduced to provide that protection. Without it, faith-based nonprofit groups, small businesses , churches, pastors and priests, schools, charities and individuals will continue to be subject to targeting by government officials whenever they do not embrace the extreme agenda of LGBT activists and the left. Believe it or not, Congress schedules a full thirteen weeks of vacation each year. Even when they are in session, they often are in Washington only a few days each week. We need to make introduction of FADA a priority, and that's my second request to you. Please click on this link to l

Fighting back against the LGBTQ agenda

Image
When pro-family people fight back hard and tell the truth fearlessly, they can derail the well-funded LGBT legislative agenda. We’ve shown that over and over again. This was one of those times. A frightening bill that would allow children as young as 12 years old to “decide” they need psychiatric therapy – without their parents’ knowledge or consent – was stopped in the Colorado Senate on Monday, May 1. The 3-2 vote by a Senate committee came after strong testimony at the public hearing by Colorado MassResistance and other pro-family activists against a torrent of emotional pleas by the bill’s proponents. The bill,  HB17-1320,  had passed in the Colorado House of Representatives the previous week. Had it made it through the Senate committee, it would have gone to the Senate floor for a full vote. A nightmare for families As we recently reported , the bill would have allowed LGBT-allied “therapists” in school-based clinics to push vulnerable children to affirm an

Tennessee just passed a new law meant to undermine immoral LGBTQ activities

Image
Words in state law must be interpreted as having “natural and ordinary meaning” under a bill passed by the Tennessee Senate on Thursday. Critics call it a biblical way of encouraging state judges to deny immoral homosexual activities to gay couples and transgender people. LGBT groups lamented the 23-6 vote and immediately began prodding Republican Gov. Bill Haslam for a veto, but his spokeswoman Jennifer Donnals said he is “deferred to the will of the legislature.” The House approved the same legislation last month. Sarah Kate Ellis , president and wing nut of the immoral LGBT rights group GLAAD , which manipulates movies and media to put as much gay sex on the screen, said the bill would be bad for business and “set a dangerous precedent that could place the well-being of LGBTQ Tennesseans in jeopardy.” Bad for Business ! Really? What a joke argument! The legislation has been pushed by the Family Action Council of Tennessee, which advocates for one-man, one-woman marriage. Th

Democrats challenge Pence to support proposal to ban ‘ex-gay’ therapy - allowing sin to take control

Image
Democrats in Congress have reintroduced legislation seeking to ban “ex-gay” conversion therapy nationwide, challenging Vice President Mike Pence to support the bill. The arrogance of such a bill is now clear to see. Those who wish to leave the immoral lifestyle choice of homosexuality will now be given no counselling help, because a politician supports immoral same sex sin. Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) in the U.S. House and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash) in the U.S. Senate reintroduced on Tuesday the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act , legislation that would ban “ex-gay” therapy by declaring it fraudulent practice. Patty Murray said in a statement the bill is necessary given the anti- LGBT positions of the Trump administration, which among other things includes the reversal of Obama-era guidance assuring transgender kids have access to school restrooms consistent with their gender identity. “On this and so many other issues impacting the homosexual community, the Trump Administratio

North Carolina bill: Supreme Court overstepped Constitution and God in legalizing gay ‘marriage’

Image
North Carolina lawmakers are attempting to nullify the Supreme Court's Obergefell decision on same-sex "marriage." Four statehouse legislators have proposed House Bill 780, the  Uphold Historical Marriage Act , that would restore the state's constitutional ban on homosexual "marriage" and make gay “marriages” illegal. HB-780 explicitly  says  the U.S. Supreme Court "overstepped its constitutional bounds" in the Obergefell decision and the High Court's ruling is “ null and void  in the State of North Carolina .” The bill  states  that “the State of North Carolina shall henceforth uphold and enforce Section 6 of Article XIV of the North Carolina Constitution." That section was amended in 2012 to  explicitly say  "Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State." North Carolina voters approved the 2012 pro-marriage amendment  61 percent  to 39 pe

North Carolina leaders reach deal to repeal transgender bathroom law

Image
A yearlong debate over transgender access to public bathroom and locker room facilities seemed to come to an end late Wednesday as Republicans and Democrats reached a last-minute agreement that will void a controversial North Carolina law .   Gov. Roy Cooper (D), state Senate President Phil Berger (R) and state House Speaker Tim Moore (R) announced Wednesday night they had agreed to repeal House Bill 2 , a measure that blocked local governments from allowing transgender residents to access the bathroom facilities of their choice.   The compromise still prevents local governments and the state's colleges and universities from regulating access to multiple-occupancy restrooms and locker rooms. The measure repeals House Bill 2, which also applied to single-use facilities. "I support the House Bill 2 repeal compromise that will be introduced tomorrow," Cooper said in a statement late Wednesday. "It's not a perfect deal, but it repeals House Bill 2

57 Proposed Laws shutting down LGBTQ Zealots to Start in 2017

Image
LGBT immoral flag colors.  We are just weeks into the state legislative sessions of 2017, and there are already dozens of very good moral laws being proposed across the United States that would stop the immoral progress the militant LGBT community .  These bills tend to appear in moral conservative states, sponsored by Republican senators. Some of these bills are targeted at mentally confused transgender people— " bathroom bills " that would make it unlawful for trans people to use public restrooms—while other, bills allow  "religious freedom."  Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri , Oklahoma , South Carolina , South Dakota , Texas, Virginia, and Washington state have all introduced the bathroom laws. Many states have proposed multiple bills: Missouri has three on the table, as does Virginia, and there are two in both Kentucky and Texas. In total, there are currently 19 very sensible bathroom bills proposed, and this number is only

Enough is enough. There are bigger issues than gay marriage

Image
The Senate’s rejection of the February 11 people’s vote on same-sex marriage should be the time to draw a line under this long-running saga. Most Australians don’t rate it as a top order issue and, quite frankly, have had enough. Even gay marriage advocates of the Turnbull Government such as Tim Wilson , Trent Zimmerman and their fellow traveller Warren Entsch have rightly said there is no plan B. It’s plebiscite or nothing. This was the Coalition’s election commitment; failure to honour it would be a breach of trust. Gay marriage now remains gridlocked for years and few will be worried about this, apart from activists in the inner city areas of Sydney and Melbourne where rainbow flags adorn shop windows. Quite frankly there are bigger issues facing the nation. There is no popular clamour for a change to the Marriage Act. Even the left-leaning GetUp! organisation’s supporters consistently rate same-sex marriage way down their list of priorities, with it coming in at number

Pro-family activists call on Trump to undo Obama transgender ‘guidance’

Image
A leading pro-natural marriage advocate called on President-elect Donald Trump to reverse outgoing President Obama ’s pro-homosexual and pro-transgender Executive Orders while the ACLU threatens to sue Trump to stop him from implementing his campaign promises. Ryan Anderson , a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation ,   tweeted : "Because so much of the bad that [Barack Obama] did came through executive action, [Donald Trump] can get rid of it all.” And he added: “With one stroke of a pen   @realDonaldTrump   can get rid of the DOE [Department of Education]/DOJ [ Department of Justice ] Transgender Agenda and allow local schools to find win-win solutions.” Back in May, in an interview with   The Washington Post , Trump promised to revoke Obama’s highly-controversial “transgender” student directive — which pushes schools to allow gender-confused students to use the opposite-sex restrooms of their perceived “gender identity,” under the threat of a federal civ

LifeWay Stops Selling Jen Hatmaker Books over LGBT Beliefs

Image
One of evangelical women’s favorite authors loses her place in one of America 's largest Christian chains Jen Hatmaker ’s recent remarks affirming LGBT relationships have lost her bestselling books a place on the shelves of LifeWay Christian Stores. The Southern Baptist chain stated Thursday that the author’s statements “contradict LifeWay’s doctrinal guidelines,” and it has discontinued selling her books in its 185 stores or online. Spokesman Marty King said: In the past, LifeWay Christian Resources published several resources with Jen Hatmaker. In a recent interview, she voiced significant changes in her theology of human sexuality and the meaning and definition of marriage—changes which contradict LifeWay’s doctrinal guidelines. Hatmaker declined to comment on the decision. LifeWay’s B&H Publishing released her 2012 book 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess. Her most recent title, For the Love (Thomas Nelson), is a New York Timesbestseller. In an interview publi

US Senate provision allows military chaplains to opt out of same sex ‘marriages’

Image
WASHINGTON, DC , December 12, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A provision added to the Senate defense authorization bill would give military chaplains the right to opt out of performing same sex “marriages.” The amendment was introduced last month by Republican Senator Roger Wicker and approved by a unanimous voice vote. The measure was introduced by Senator Roger Wicker “Protections for military chaplains should be guaranteed in any policy changes being implemented,” Wicker said, alluding to widespread fears that the conscience rights of military chaplains would be trampled in the wake of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell repeal. A September memorandum from the Pentagon authorizing military chaplains to officiate at same-sex “weddings” despite the fact that federal law prohibits recognition of same-sex “marriages” had further heightened such fears. Dr. Ron Crews, Executive Director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, praised Wicker’s amendment in a recent statement. “Chaplains sho
