PHILADELPHIA, PA , December 9, 2013 – A homosexual teacher has been fired from Holy Ghost Preparatory School for trying to “ marry ” his partner of 12 years. The school's headmaster has  said  the teacher's decision to get a marriage license “contradicts the terms of his teaching contract.”  Michael Griffin, who graduated from Holy Ghost and taught French and Italian, says the school fired him after he sent  an e-mail  telling administrators “he was going to file for a marriage license and would be slightly late to work.”  Michael Griffin Facebook According to a statement from headmaster and school president Father James McCloskey, Griffin's contract “requires all faculty and staff to follow the teachings of the Church as a condition of their employment.” McCloskey says Griffin “acknowledged that he was aware of this provision, yet he said that he intended to go ahead with the ceremony.”  Griffin says he wears a wedding ring to work, and has been in a civi

Judge orders renegade clerk to stop issuing gay ‘marriage’ licenses

HARRISBURG, PA , September 12, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Pennsylvania judge has ruled that a county clerk does not have the authority to violate state law and issue marriage certificates to homosexuals. Montgomery County Register Wills D. Bruce Hanes became a national hero to the LGBT movement when he began issuing marriage licenses to gay couples despite the fact that a 1996 law defined marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Judge Dan Pellegrini Republican Governor Tom Corbett ordered him to cease and desist. Then the state Department of Health took Hanes to court, where they triumphed this morning. “Unless and until either the General Assembly repeals or suspends the Marriage Law provisions, or a court of competent jurisdiction orders that the law is not to be obeyed or enforced, the Marriage Law in its entirety is to be obeyed and enforced by all commonwealth public officials,”  ruled Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court President Judge Dan Pellegrini.

Homosexual threats to religious freedom real and growing.

The evidence is mounting that the religious freedoms we’ve long enjoyed are now at stake. It’s time to take this seriously. Stay tuned to BreakPoint Threats against religious liberty and freedom of conscience are no longer theoretical—they’re real, and they’re growing. Just ask Jack Phillips , the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop in Denver, who declined to make a wedding cake for two men who got “married” in Massachusetts. Phillips said this would violate his Christian beliefs , and there are other shops who would make the cake. But Colorado’s new law on civil unions does not provide religious protections for businesses, so Phillips is being hauled before Colorado’s Civil Rights Commission. If he loses, he faces fines of up to $500 per case and a year in jail. Phillips’ attorney says that forcing him to “choose between his conscience and a paycheck . . . is intolerable.”  But that’s a choice that same-sex “marriage” is forcing upon those of us with traditional religious

Image via Wikipedia PHILADELPHIA, December 13, 2011  - A small Catholic college in Philadelphia has revised its policies to end employment discrimination based on “sexual orientation [or] gender identity ” after its firing of an openly gay dissident priest set off a controversy, reports the  Cardinal Newman Society . While the cleric said he felt “vindicated” by the change, the school says the change simply reflects recent changes in city non-discrimination rules. Chestnut Hill College leaders earlier this year explained that the college terminated an adjunct teaching contract with Jim St. George, who presented himself as “Fr. George,” when the college discovered that he was engaged in a long-term relationship with another man. St. George is a member of the  Old Catholic Apostolic Church of the Americas , a group that broke away from the Catholic Church in the 19th century. “At the time St. George joined our faculty, he presented himself as Father St. George and openly wore a tradi
