Shouldn’t same-sex oriented teens be given a chance to change and know the truth?

Image
In 2013 California and New Jersey passed laws that ban licensed mental health providers from offering sexual orientation change efforts ( SOCE ) to minors. Massachusetts, Pennsylvania , Ohio, New York , Minnesota and Maryland are considering similar legislation. Recently, however, this legislation died in the Virginia House, and a stay was imposed in California pending review by the Supreme Court of the United States . To be clear, the present debate concerns banning voluntary (not coerced) SOCE by professionals for minors who are distressed by their unwanted homosexual feelings. Support for this ban is based upon four claims. First, that sexual orientation is a fixed, inborn trait. Secondly, that homosexual attractions experienced during adolescence are enduring. Thirdly, that homosexual behavior carries no increased health risks as compared to heterosexual behavior, and finally, that scientific research proves SOCE is universally harmful. None of these claims, however, is based in s

‘Dangerous,’ ‘ludicrous’: PA bill would force Catholic schools to employ teachers in gay ‘marriages’

Image
HARRISBURG, PA, December 17, 2013 – A Pennsylvania lawmaker has proposed a bill that would forbid Catholic schools from enforcing the Catholic church's teachings on homosexuality in parochial schools, a measure its critics are calling “ludicrous” and “dangerous to basic human freedoms.” The bill gained new life after  Holy Ghost Preparatory School in the Philadelphia suburb of Bensalem fired Michael Griffin , who taught French and Italian. Griffin lives in  New Jersey, where a county superior court judge legalized same-sex “marriage”  in September, a decision that stood after Republican Governor  Chris Christie dropped his appeal . After the ruling, Griffin and his homosexual partner contracted a same-sex “marriage.” State Sen. Daylin Leach , D-Montgomery Headmaster and school President Father James McCloskey noted that Griffin's contract “requires all faculty and staff to follow the teachings of the Church as a condition of their employment.” The Catholic Churc

False and Fake Homosexual discrimination stories

BETHLEHEM, PA , December 9, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Dayna Morales, the waitress who was fired after falsely claiming that patrons denied her a tip, is not the only person to falsely claim she suffered discrimination because of virulent homophobia. Megan Thode sued to have her C+ grade raised to a B – and to be granted $1.3 million in damages – alleging that her professor at Pennsylvania 's Lehigh University gave her low marks because she supported same-sex "marriage." Megan Thode, denied Thode also requested a written apology from her teacher, Amanda Carr. The 28-year-old dreamed of being a licensed professional counselor , but says a low grade from a "homophobic" professor ruined her dream. She got a zero in the mandatory classroom participation portion of her class because, according to Carr, she did not participate. Carr – who has since earned her doctorate, become a professor in Lehigh's College of Education, and is now known as Aman

Judge orders renegade clerk to stop issuing gay ‘marriage’ licenses

Image
HARRISBURG, PA , September 12, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Pennsylvania judge has ruled that a county clerk does not have the authority to violate state law and issue marriage certificates to homosexuals. Montgomery County Register Wills D. Bruce Hanes became a national hero to the LGBT movement when he began issuing marriage licenses to gay couples despite the fact that a 1996 law defined marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Judge Dan Pellegrini Republican Governor Tom Corbett ordered him to cease and desist. Then the state Department of Health took Hanes to court, where they triumphed this morning. “Unless and until either the General Assembly repeals or suspends the Marriage Law provisions, or a court of competent jurisdiction orders that the law is not to be obeyed or enforced, the Marriage Law in its entirety is to be obeyed and enforced by all commonwealth public officials,”  ruled Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court President Judge Dan Pellegrini.

Clerk illegally issue homosexual marriage licenses

English: New Mexico State Governor Susana Martinez (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Same-sex 'marriage' activists in New Mexico are not content to wait for the courts. Now they have found a county clerk willing to defy the Governor and Attorney General by issuing illegal 'marriage' licenses to same-sex couples. It was reported yesterday that Dona Ana County Clerk , Lynn Ellins will start issuing same-sex 'marriage' licenses, against the express directive of the Attorney General. In June, Attorney General King issued a position paper stating same sex marriages are illegal in New Mexico and asked clerks to not begin issuing such 'licenses.' Nevertheless, the Attorney General refuses to put a stop to the issuance of these illegal documents, and that is why the Governor must act right away. The battle for marriage as God designed has come to The Land of Enchantment ; and it's your turn to stand in the breach. Every person who believes marriage to be th

Impeach officials who issue gay ‘marriage’ licenses, refuse to defend marriage laws,: PA lawmaker

HARRISONBURG, PA, August 2, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has followed the lead of Barack Obama and Jerry Brown by refusing to uphold the state's law protecting marriage between one man and one woman. At least one legislator thinks it is time she paid for violating her oath of office. Daryl Metcalfe State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Butler, has said Kane's actions merit impeachment, because they spread “lawlessness.” “I think breaking the law is worthy of impeachment,” Metcalfe told local media. “Her duty is to defend the law. Shortly after her announcement, Montgomery County Register of Wills D. Bruce Hanes began issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals, despite the fact that state law forbids such unions. As of Friday afternoon, Hanes had issued  62 marriage licenses  to homosexual couples, and 13 of their recipients have completed wedding ceremonies. “By her example, this Montgomery County official felt emboldened to vi

Pro-homosexual marriage advocates pick and choose laws they support!

English: Anthony Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Ever since the US Supreme Court invalidated the federal definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, we've expected lawsuits would be filed in federal court challenging state laws that also define marriage in the traditional way. Our expectations have certainly been met; over a dozen such lawsuits have now been filed. What saddens me most about these lawsuits is that some of our elected officials entrusted with defending the laws of the land have chosen to abandon their oaths of office and state law on marriage. In fact, the Attorneys General of both Illinois and Pennsylvania have declared that they will not defend marriage in federal court. They are following the disgraceful path of Attorney General Eric Holder , who refused to defend our federal definition of marriage, and Jerry Brown in California, whose refusal to defend Proposition 8 led

Pennsylvania governor rebukes county official issuing illegal gay ‘marriage’ licenses

HARRISBURG, PA , July 25, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A spokesman for Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has responded to the controversy over a rogue county registrar issuing illegal same-sex “marriage” licenses to homosexuals, saying, “Individual elected officials cannot pick and choose which laws to enforce.” Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett Pennsylvania law defines marriage as a civil contract between a man and a woman, explicitly prohibiting the recognition of gay unions, even those formed in states where the practice is legal. But on Wednesday, Montgomery County Register of Wills D. Bruce Hanes began issuing marriage certificates to same-sex couples anyway, saying he wanted to be “on the right side of history and the law.” Hanes told  NBC Philadelphia  that the Supreme Court’s June decision to overturn part of the Defense of Marriage Act prompted him to act. “I think the constitution trumps the [state marriage] statute,” Hanes told NBC . “This to me is a fundamen

Immorality happens when Attorney Generals don't support the law.

July 16, 2013 ( MercatorNet ) - The Broadway production of  Evita  closed in January and re-opened in Philadelphia last week. Or so it seemed when Pennsylvania Attorney-General Kathleen Kane channelled Eva Peron and told a cheering crowd that she would not defend the state’s Defense of Marriage Act. DOMA was plainly unconstitutional, she said, because it defines marriage as between a man and a woman. The newspapers carried only a few snatches from the press conference. But these fail to give the flavour of her speech, which owed more to the lyrics of the musical than the words of her law books. She declard that she taken a road to the moral high ground: “In deciding which path to take, I looked at it this way. The governor’s going to be OK. He has a team of lawyers, very good lawyers. As a party to this lawsuit, I’m going to be OK. I have a good team of lawyers as well. But in thinking about who represents all of you, who represents the Daves and the Robbies and the John
