Australia: Queer theory forced onto kids

Image
Australia: In News Weekly May 7, 2016, I referred to the Building Respectful Relationships (BRR) program, which is purportedly designed to prevent domestic/family violence. BRR is solidly based on queer gender theory: “Students need to understand that gender is not fixed and that as young people they can resist traditional notions of what it means to be a young man or a young woman in today’s society. … They will examine the implications of gendered assumptions around masculinities, femininities and sexualities for themselves, others and in intimate relationships. Students will begin to develop skills in … deconstruction, reconstruction.” (Unit 1 ( Year 8 – ages 13-14) Session 1) Basically what this means is that students will be taught to “deconstruct” (that is, question and reject) the perceived reality that every person is male or female and accept the idea that sex is not binary (that is, male and female) and that gender is fluid. Students are provided with the story of a fe

Texas Lt. Gov. vows: We’ll give up funding before bowing to Obama’s transgender mandate

Image
Don't mess with Texas. The state has had an independent streak since the  days when it was an independent nation in 1845, and they don't appear ready to cotton to   new federal guidelines   that all public schools must allow biological males who say they are transgender to use the girls' showers and locker rooms. In a defiant press conference, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said today the state would refuse federal funding before putting its children at risk. "We will not be blackmailed by the president's 30 pieces of silver," Lt. Gov. Patrick said. He said the policy, if adopted, “will be the end of public education.” “People will pull their kids out” of unsafe schools, he said. “ Homeschooling will explode. Private schools will increase. School choice will pass.” “I believe it is the biggest issue facing America since prayer was taken out of schools,” Lt. Gov. Patrick added. He added that, if necessary, the state of Texas will make up the r

Girls must get over their ‘discomfort’ at seeing male genitals in locker room: Charlotte Observer

Image
Girls need to get over the “discomfort” they may feel at seeing male genitalia in the locker room, the editorial board of one of North Carolina’s largest newspapers wrote in a piece supporting the Obama administration ’s transgender school facilities edict. The Obama administration’s threat to withhold federal funding from schools that don’t allow males to share restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and hotel rooms with females “is sure to bring more heat to the bathroom debate, but eventually the decree should have the opposite effect,” the Charlotte Observer editorial board wrote. “It will bring acceptance, as these measures do, by showing that the answer to what happens in bathrooms is a lot less fearsome than the question.” “Yes, the thought of male genitalia in girls’ locker rooms – and vice versa – might be distressing to some,” the editorial board continued. “But the battle for equality has always been in part about overcoming discomfort – with blacks sharing facilities

12 states reject Obama’s transgender bathroom policy

Image
Despite the power of the bully pulpit, and the pull of billions of dollars in federal education funding, leaders in at least a dozen states have said Barack Obama's guidance on transgender bathroom, shower, and locker room use is unconstitutional, with many saying the decree will not be implemented, come what may. Governors, attorneys general, and school officials – not to mention incensed parents – say the federal document released last Friday is a vast overreach of the president's powers and places young children at risk. Disregarding 'the president's social experiment' Upon release of the long-rumored document last week, multiple governors declared the decree dead on arrival. North Carolina , which is already locked in a protracted battle over its own state law over transgender restroom use, brushed off last Friday's directive. Obama's policy is “an invitation for violations of privacy and personal safety,” said North Carolina Lt. Gov. D

Obama salutes transgender ‘mothers’ in annual Mother’s Day proclamation

Image
President Barack Obama saluted transgender “ mothers ” in his annual Mother's Day proclamation, the first-ever explicit reference to biological males acting as mothers in the history of the annual presidential message. Obama wrote the encomium in the first paragraph of his   statement , released on Friday. “Regardless of sexual orientation , gender identity , or marital status, mothers have always moved our Nation forward and remained steadfast in their pursuit of a better and brighter future for their children,” Obama wrote. In   last year's proclamation , Obama hailed all mothers, “[w]hether married or single, LGBT or straight, biological, adoptive, or foster.” However, his usage appeared to highlight the mother's sexual orientation, not their underlying biology. One pro-life leader said that conflating the two binary sexes in such a public way confuses children. “Now the ' transgendered ,' if they have children, can be celebrated twice a year as

North Carolina gov. sues Obama admin in response to threat over transgender restrooms

Image
The governor of North Carolina has defied the Obama administration , asking a judge to dismiss all legal threats against his state for enacting a law that allows public accommodations to determine their own restroom policies. “The Obama administration is bypassing Congress by attempting to rewrite the law and set restroom policies for public and private employers across the country, not just North Carolina,” said Governor Pat McCrory , a Republican. “They are now telling every government agency and every company that employs more than 15 people that men should be allowed to use a women’s locker room, restroom or shower facility.” The new litigation comes the day that the Justice Department set as a deadline for state officials to back down and tell the Obama administration “that the state will not comply with or implement H.B. 2,” the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act. After the city of Charlotte passed an ordinance requiring all public businesses to allow transge

How to lie: Obama in the UK: ‘Some’ people who support bathroom privacy laws are ‘good people’

Official photographic portrait of US President Barack Obama (born 4 August 1961; assumed office 20 January 2009) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) President Obama denounced laws in North Carolina and Mississippi during a trip to Great Britain, adding that “some” of the people who support those laws are good people. Of course Obama's definition of good is to be questioned.  The UK Foreign Office has issued a travel advisory to LGBT British citizens visiting North Carolina and Mississippi after those states passed new laws - one restricting  restrooms and shower   facilities to   members of the same biological sex   and another respecting religious freedom . During a press conference last Friday with Prime Minister David Cameron, Obama said the two are “beautiful states” full of “wonderful people,” where visitors from Great Britain would be treated with "extraordinary hospitality." However, “the laws that have been passed there are wrong and should be overturned.” Th
