Homosexuality, Gay Unions, Marriage Equality and the Bible

English: Kevin Rudd on Novembre 2005. Français : Kevin Rudd en novembre 2005. (Image découpée à partir Image:Rudd4.jpg) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Kevin Rudd claims to be a Christian yet supports homosexual sin condemned in scripture.  How have these and other damaging views about homosexual sin infiltrated the church? A detailed answer to that question could alone be the subject of an entire book. Simply put, it’s because “other voices” now, consistently as never before, compete for our ears, claiming authority equal to or even surpassing that of the Scriptures. More devastating is the fact that many in our churches are listening to those voices. Some of these voices call for the ordination of homosexuals to the Gospel ministry. In some denominations, we are seeing this pursued with little or no consequence, if not whole-hearted celebration. In some instances, church discipline is threatened and imposed, not for those advocating sexual immorality , but for those who would

Group marriage is next, admits Dutch ‘father’ of gay ‘marriage’

Member of political party D66 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Boris Dittrich , the homosexual activist called the “father” of the political movement in favor of Dutch gay “marriage”, has admitted that group marriages of three or more people, is the next, inevitable logical step in the dismantling of the western world’s traditional marriage laws. In a  video interview  with Yagg, the French online homosexual magazine, Dittrich, a former Dutch MP and homosexualist activist working for Human Rights Watch , related the carefully laid-out plan that established first public acceptance legal civil partnerships, which in turn led inevitably to changing the definition of marriage. The redefinition of marriage , he said, has led to discussions of allowing group marriages of three or more persons. “But that’s the beginning of something completely new,” he added. He predicted that this next step “will take a lot of years.”   Dittrich admitted that “it took a long time” to push th

Ten myths about gay ‘marriage’

Image
October 18, 2012 ( PJSaunders ) - The Prime Minister David Cameron wants to redefine marriage to allow gay couples to marry. Thus far over 600,000 people have signed a petition launched by the Coalition for Marriage (C4M) against these plans which reads simply as follows: ‘I support the legal definition of marriage which is the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others. I oppose any attempt to redefine it.’ I have previously written on this issue and have published  24 articles  on all aspects of the debate. One of these, ‘ Ten reasons not to legalise same-sex marriage in Britain ’, gives an overview of the main issues. This week, however, the Coalition for Marriage has published a new leaflet titled ‘Ten reasons why the government is wrong to redefine marriage’ which is available in pdf format on the C4M website. It outlines ten myths about the redefinition of marriage . I have reproduced the text below. Ten reasons why t

Liberals outraged over Dutch government funding of therapy for homosexuals

Image via Wikipedia January 19, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A Dutch Christian organization that that offers psychological treatment for homosexuals and is funded in part by the government is under attack by leftist politicians who are outraged at the suggestion that homosexuality might be understood as a mental disorder , according to the Spanish news service EFE . EFE reports that the organization, which is called “Different,” offers “psychological help regarding homosexuality and relationships” based on “Christian beliefs.” The page adds that “it has been demonstrated that people with homosexual orientation experience great obstacles to talking about their feelings.” Although the site reportedly mentions nothing about reparative therapy and does not go into detail regarding the nature of its treatment, the Liberals in Government ( VVD ) party has expressed its indignation at the mere possibility that homosexual orientation might be seen in a negative light by the group. The Nethe

‘Miss Belgium’ causes uproar by hesitating on gay ‘marriage’

Image
January 9, 2011 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - The newly-chosen “ Miss Belgium 2012” has caused an uproar in the ultraliberal country for failing to express sufficient enthusiasm for the idea of homosexual “marriage.” During the Miss Belgium beauty contest, nineteen-year-old Laura Beyne was asked: “what is your opinion on homosexual marriage ?” She responded: “it’s true that there are an increasing number of homosexuals , but it is also important to know also that they are human beings. I think that they can do more or less what they want. At this time I am more or less in favor of homosexual marriage.” Miss Belgium Laura Beyne Following her tepid endorsement of “ matrimony ” for same-sex couples, Beyne caused further outrage by holding back on homosexual adoption , adding, “there are other problems like the adoption of children, and I think that that is a different subject, a little more difficult, but I am not against homosexual marriage.” Although Beyne won the title of Miss Belgium and

Gay Marriage will force fewer people would remain monogamous and sexually faithful

Image
Image via Wikipedia One value that remains remarkably strong, even among people who have multiple sexual partners before marriage, is the belief that marriage itself is a sexually exclusive relationship. Among married heterosexuals , having sexual relations with anyone other than one’s spouse is still considered a grave breach of trust and a violation of the marriage covenant by the vast majority of people. Yet the same cannot be said of homosexuals—particularly of homosexual men . Numerous studies of homosexual relationships, including “partnered” relationships, covering a span of decades, have shown that sex with multiple partners is tolerated and often expected, even when one has a “long-term” partner. Perhaps the most startling of these studies was published in the journal AIDS . In the context of studying HIV risk behavior among young homosexual men in the Netherlands (coincidentally, the first country in the world to legalize homosexual civil “marriage”), the researchers fo

Image via Wikipedia Even where legal recognition and marital rights and benefits are available to same-sex couples (whether through same-sex civil “marriages,” “ civil unions ,” or “ domestic partnerships ”), relatively few same-sex couples even bother to seek such recognition or claim such benefits. The most simple way to document this is by comparing the number of same-sex couples who have sought such legal recognition in a given state18 with the number of “same-sex unmarried-partner households” in the most recent U.S. Census.19 When a relatively small percentage of same-sex couples—even among those already living together as partners—even bother to seek legal recognition of their relationships, while an overwhelming majority of heterosexual couples who live together are legally married, it suggests that homosexuals are far more likely than heterosexuals to reject the institution of marriage or its legal equivalent. In California , same-sex “marriage” was only legal for a few m

Gays still depressed even in open tolerant Netherlands

Image via Wikipedia This study found a higher prevalence of various psychiatric   disorders in homosexual people compared with heterosexual people,   both regarding the preceding 12 months as well as on a lifetime   basis. These differences seem to be gender specific with a higher   prevalence of substance use disorders in homosexual women and   a higher prevalence of mood and anxiety disorders in homosexual   men, both compared with their heterosexual counterparts. The interpretation of these findings requires consideration   of some potential limitations, which could have cumulatively   either inflated or deflated actual differences in prevalence   rates. 25  Among those people contacted, there could have been   a nonresponse related to homosexual behavior . Although nonresponse to specific questions was negligible owing to the computer-assisted   interviewing, subjects might have differed in their reporting   behavior. Compared with heterosexual men, homosexual men might   have be
