The purpose of this article is to examine the compatibility of Christianity with Libertarianism. Now I want to distinguish political libertarianism from theological libertarianism. Theological libertarianism revolves around the debate of human free will in regards to God ’s sovereignty.  Libertarian Free Will argues that man’s will is autonomous and is able to make decisions that are free in an absolute sense (i.e., undetermined). I believe a consistent biblical view of man’s will argues against man having an autonomous free will. This is not to argue that man’s will isn’t free. Man is free to choose anything he desires to choose. The only caveat is that man’s free will choices fall under the umbrella of God’s eternal sovereign decree. Political libertarianism doesn’t regard man in relation to God, but man in relation to man in the realm of society. Libertarianism argues that for human society to thrive personal freedom must be maximized and government control must be minimized

Where homosexuality was even recently condemned by the society, now it is considered a sin to believe that homosexuality is wrong in any way. A new sexual morality has replaced the old, and those who hold to the old morality are considered morally deficient. The new moral authorities have one central demand for the church: get with the new program. This was evidenced by Kevin Rudd bullied a pastor on ABC Q&A inferring he was an idiot, he hadn't moved on. This puts the true church, committed to the authority of God ’s Word, in a very difficult cultural position. Put simply, we cannot join the larger culture in normalizing homosexuality and restructuring society to match this new morality. Recognizing same-sex unions and legalizing same-sex marriage is central to this project.

Marriage has always been a covenant between a man and a woman which is by its nature ordered toward the procreation and education of children and the unity and wellbeing of the spouses . The promoters of same-sex “marriage” propose something entirely different. They propose the union between two men or two women. This denies the self-evident biological, physiological, and psychological differences between men and women which find their complementarity in marriage. It also denies the specific primary purpose of marriage: the perpetuation of the human race and the raising of children . Two entirely different things cannot be considered the same thing. 2. It Violates Natural Law Marriage is not just any relationship between human beings. It is a relationship rooted in human nature and thus governed by natural law . Natural law’s most elementary precept is that “good is to be done
