Immoral Homosexual ‘marriage’ arrives in Minnesota and Rhode Island. Expect anti-Christian bias

Image
August 1 marked the first day of legalized same-sex “marriages” in Minnesota and Rhode Island , after both states’ legislatures passed laws redefining marriage to include homosexual couples last spring. That brings to 13 the number of U.S. states that have redefined marriage, along with the District of Columbia. In Minnesota, Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed August 1 “ Freedom to Marry Day ,” and homosexuals started lining up outside government offices the evening before to be among the first to take advantage of the new law. At midnight, Minneapolis’s City Hall was packed with about 1,000 people who came to witness Governor Dayton, Mayor R.T. Rybak, and a handful of Hennepin County judges “marry” 67 gay and lesbian couples. In Rhode Island, there was no such fanfare. Municipal offices opened as usual at 8:30 a.m., and both homosexual activists and county clerks told local media they weren’t expecting a rush on marriage licenses. Since same-sex nuptials are already legal in a

What is a mother to do? Questions for same-sex ‘marriage’ advocates

June 25, 2013 ( thePublicDiscourse ) - The speed at which marriage was redefined last month in the state of Minnesota has left me with a sense of vertigo. My head is still spinning. And though the war wages on, one thing seems clear: Those of us for whom same-sex marriage has been, until now, almost impossible to contemplate, have some things to figure out. Of those, the most urgent is the question of what we are to tell our children. I am the mother of a ten-year-old girl, a beautiful child, more precious to me than anything you can imagine. When, on June 1, same-sex marriage became legal in the state of Minnesota, I needed to know what to tell her. How is this supposed to work—actually—in the concrete world of a ten-year-old child and her mother? Her father is wondering too, of course, but he is rather speechless at the moment. And the way it works in our house, though he is really good at protecting her from possible physical threats, it usually falls to me to protect her fro

Minnesota legislature approves same-sex ‘marriage;’ governor to sign bill

ST. PAUL, MN, May 14, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – Tuesday night, at a ceremony on the steps of the state capitol, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is expected to sign a bill redefining marriage in the state to include homosexual couples.  The State Senate approved the bill Monday by a 37-30 vote.  The State House voted on the measure last week,  passing  it 75-59.  Governor Dayton , a Democrat , has called the legislation “one of those society-changing breakthrough moments.” When the law is signed, Minnesota will be the 12 th  U.S. state to legalize same-sex “marriage,” and the third in just ten days. Delaware and Rhode Island both passed gay “marriage” earlier this month.  Homosexual couples will be able to “marry” in Minnesota starting August 1. Gov. Mark Dayton is expected to sign the bill Tuesday evening. Thousands of demonstrators from both sides of the marriage debate flooded the capitol Monday for the Senate debate, which lasted four hours.  Supporters of same-sex “mar

Ron Latz states God makes homosexual sin

Via:  @jhiscock Minnesota will become the 12th state in the country, plus DC , to allow same-sex couples to marry, following a 37-30 vote of the state’s Senate on Monday. I want you to note one particular comment.  Judiciary Committee Chair Ron Latz  said, “ God made gays. And god made gays capable of loving other people of the same gender . Who are we to quibble with god’s intentions?” This accusation against God's nature, his holiness and righteousness is pure  arrogance. It is possible that Latz is ignorant as to the nature of God , or that Latz maybe referring to another God but not the God of Holy Scripture.  Latz is accusing God intentionally of creating sinful beings, while at the same time scripture clearly declares that God condemns homosexuality as a grevous sin.  Yet scripture says we are made in God's image. That sin entered the world through Adam via Satan in rebellion against God.  Accusing a holy righteous God where there is no shadow o

Homosexual takes Anglican to court

Image
English: Flag of the Anglican Communion (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The Anglican Church should be free from state interference when selecting its leaders, their lawyer argued today. A Human Rights Tribunal hearing into alleged discrimination of Eugene Sisneros ended at Auckland District Court today. Mr Sisneros took the Anglican Bishop of Auckland to the tribunal claiming he was barred from becoming a priest because of his sexuality - a claim the bishop denied, saying he was simply following the church 's doctrines. Mr Sisneros' lawyer David Ryken yesterday told the tribunal's three-member panel excluding someone from a training programme because of their sexuality breached Section 38 of the Human Rights Act. However, in closing arguments for the Anglican Church today, Professor Paul Rishworth argued that organised religions were exempt under Section 39 of the act. He argued a similar clause existed in the recently passed Marriage Amendment Bill, wher

I’m gay, and I oppose gay marriage

March 27, 2013 ( thePublicDiscourse.com ) - In our sometimes misguided efforts to expand our freedom, selfish adults have systematically dismantled that which is most precious to children as they grow and develop. That’s why I am now  speaking out against same-sex marriage . By the way,  I am gay . A few days ago I testified against pending same-sex marriage legislation in Minnesota ’s Senate Judiciary and House Civil Law Committees. The atmosphere at these events (I’ve also testified elsewhere) seems tinged with unreality—almost a carnival-like surrealism. Natural law, tradition, religion, intellectual curiosity, and free inquiry no longer play a role in deliberations. Same-sex marriage legislation is defended solely on grounds of moral relativism and emotions. Pure sophistry is pitted against reason. Reason is losing. Here’s the problem: The national discussion of same-sex marriage treats the issue like a game of checkers , where opponents can quickly gain each o
