Federal judge imposes first same-sex ‘marriage’ in one of Mexico’s most conservative states

Image
MEXICO CITY , March 21, 2014  – Last Tuesday , two women became the first homosexual couple to get “married” in the city of León, in Guanajuanto, one of Mexico’s most conservative states and in which same-sex “marriage” is illegal. The “marriage” followed a lawsuit filed by the two lesbians when they were denied a marriage license in September last year.  After suing the state in federal court they were granted an injunction forcing the state to “marry” them. The lawsuit was based on the Mexican Constitution ’s first article, which prohibits discrimination for “sexual orientation.” However, in addition to being illegal in Guanajuato , article 156 of the Federal Civil Code lists “incurable impotence” as an impediment to contract legal marriage in the country, a provision that would seemingly invalidate same-sex “marriages” as well. In an interview with local media before the event, Judge Rito Padilla, who presided at the “marriage,” said the federal judge “forced us

Mexico conference on overcoming same-sex attractions takes place in new venue

Image
MEXICO CITY , February 14, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Mexico conference that was cancelled last week for offering therapy to people with unwanted same-sex attraction was held this past Wednesday in a different venue. The conference, initially titled “How to love correctly,” by self-described ex-homosexual Richard Cohen was to take place in a Catholic school in the city of Monterrey, Mexico . It was cancelled because, according to Cohen, “the parents and students of the Labastida School were repeatedly harassed by gay and lesbian activists when coming in and out of the school.” “The school was traumatized by the constant harassment so they had to cancel my conference,” he said to a local newspaper. The Mexican Center for Psycho-traumatism, which organized the event, decided to host the conference in the Palestinian-Lebanese Club instead, not far from the original venue and with the new title of “Understanding, learning and loving.” Local media report a turnout of o

MEXICO CITY , February 7, 2014 – A conference by a self-described ex-homosexual who offers therapy for people with unwanted same-sex attraction has been cancelled by its venue due to harassment and pressure from pro-homosexual groups. In an email to the Mexican newspaper El Norte, Richard Cohen, who organized the “How to Love Correctly” conference, wrote: “This is an evident denial of our human right of free speech and free expression.” He said that he “won’t allow for a few who fear my message to stop others who seek to find hope,” and added that if he didn’t find another place for his conference he will “stand in the street and give my talk.” The conference, sponsored by the Mexican Center for Psycho-traumatism, was to be held on February 12 in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon , in Mexico, at the Labastida School, a Catholic institution run by the Daughters of Mary Immaculate of Guadalupe. The event’s organizers have offered to reimburse ticket holders. In the email to El N

Homosexual activists push agenda by registering 'marriages' in Mexican municipalities

Image
Homosexual couples are attempting to force the issue of gay "marriage" in Mexico by registering their marriages at the municipal level, sometimes with the connivance of sympathetic politicians, according to reports by the national media. The method has already worked in the state of Quintana Roo , where two lesbians and two male homosexuals used a loophole in the law to register their unions as "marriages" in 2012. The state's law only referred to "contracting parties" or "couples," without reference to the sex of the spouses, prompting local officials to permit the "weddings." After the state government initially refused to accept the unions as legal "marriages," the couple took their fight to the state's procurator (which is the equivalent of an attorney general in the United States ), and the National Human Rights Commission. The state government backed off, and now allows any homosexual couple to

Mexican Supreme Court declares heterosexual marriage law “unconstitutional”

Image
MEXICO CITY , December 7, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - The First Chamber of Mexico’s Supreme Court of Justice has ruled unanimously that a law of the state of Oaxaca defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman is “unconstitutional,” claiming that “it offends the auto-determination of people and the right to free development of their personality.” The ruling is the first step in the process of creating a precedent that would be binding on the whole federal court system , and could ultimately mandate the creation of homosexual “marriage” throughout Mexico’s 31 states. Currently, homosexual “marriage” is only officially recognized in Mexico’s ultra-leftist Federal District , also known as Mexico City, where the killing of the unborn on demand is legal and state subsidized during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy as well. However, the unanimity of the ruling, which included conservative judge Jorge Mario Pardo in addition to the two others making up the chambe

Mexican Supreme Court says states have no right to sue against homosexual ‘marriage’

Image
MEXICO CITY , January 25, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - The Mexican Supreme Court ruled this week in a 7-4 vote that the states of Jalisco and Baja California do not have a legitimate legal interest in their suit challenging Mexico City ’s homosexual “marriage” law , which also allows same-sex couples to adopt children. The two states sued on the grounds that the Mexico City law, by way of the Constitution’s “full faith and credit” clause, requires them to accept homosexual marriages and adoptions within their own jurisdictions, despite the fact that the states do not recognize homosexual “marriage.” Mexico's Supreme Court Six out of 11 justices signed a decision yesterday claiming that the states have no basis for suits against the law because they are not required to change their own laws. However, Luna Ramos, one of four judges who dissented from the majority decision, observed that the Supreme Court’s previous decision requires other states to accept laws that run contrary

US Ambassador Aponte rams gay agenda onto El Salvador

Image
Image via Wikipedia Pro-family groups in El Salvador have mounted an organized protest against the current United States ambassador to the country, after she published a controversial article in a local newspaper denouncing “homophobia,” which she says is “based on the lack of understanding of what it really means to be homosexual or transgender.” Mari Carmen Aponte , who was temporarily appointed by U.S. President Barack Obama in 2010 during a congressional recess, also lauded the Obama administration’s international activism against “discrimination” against homosexuals and cited Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ’s claim that “Gay rights are Human Rights .” But Aponte’s  article , which was published on June 28 in the La Prensa Grafica newspaper, has been met with outrage by numerous human rights and pro-family organizations in El Salvador, who accuse her of violating international law and seeking to impose the U.S.‘s homosexual political agenda on the country. “Mrs. Aponte, i

Rebellious Bishop Raúl Vera López & Gay Conference

One of the featured speakers for the conference, hosted by the “Community of San Aelredo,” is “Friar” Julián Cruzalta, a man who Catholic authorities have denounced for allowing himself to be falsely presented as a priest and representative of the Dominican order .   He has functioned as a “chaplain” to “Catholics for the Right to Decide,” has publicly opposed laws to protect the unborn from abortion in Mexico, and is a supporter of the homosexualist political agenda, according to the Catholic news agency ACI Prensa. The conference, scheduled for March 25-27, seeks to “eradicate what some sectors of the Church think about homosexuality,” ac

Homosexuals abuse public transport

Image by Kevin Hutchinson via Flickr MEXICO CITY, February 4, 2011-   Mexico City authorities say they have been forced to close the last cars on five different subway lines during late night service because homosexuals have “taken over” the cars to engage in sex acts . An anonymous guard told the Excelsior newspaper that the cars had been closed “because of gays , because they were taking over the installations.  They even have recordings in which they are practicing oral sex .” Carlos Martínez, a station manager, said that the problem included heterosexual couples as well. “Many users are complaining and we have to do something,” he said.  As a result, the last three cars on lines 1, 2, 3, 9, and B will be closed to passengers after 10 pm, to prevent what homosexuals call “metrear” (“metroing”). “Metroing” has been a problem on the subways since at least 2004, when police began to act against the practice, provoking protests of “discrimination” from homosexual activists. Cardinal refuses to withdraw statement

Image via Wikipedia The Cardinal Archbishop of Mexico City is refusing to retract his statements condemning homosexual behavior , despite a complaint filed against him with the federal government 's National Council to Prevent Discrimination (Contrapred). Multiple complaints before various government agencies were filed in August against Rivera, his spokesman Hugo Valdemar, and Cardinal Juan Sandoval Iñiguez by Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard and fellow members of the socialist Party of the Democratic Revolution in response to statements they made denouncing the homosexualist and abortionist policies of the Mexico City government and the nation's Supreme Court . The complaint filed against Rivera with Contrapred is based on his statement denouncing the Supreme Court's approval of homosexual "marriage," calling it an "immoral legal reform," and declaring that the Catholic Church "cannot cease to call evil, evil."  "Such immoral activ
