People who engage in homosexual behavior are normal in many ways. Like anyone else, they have friends and family, they work and play, they love and hate, and have fears and dreams.  But it seems strange to admit that  everything  about homosexuality is normal. Indeed, it’s hard to say any class of people is normal in every way. For example, I’m Assyrian. My people are normal in many ways, but there are also many things about us that are abnormal (or just downright weird). We have genetic differences – we are a Semitic people . Our language is extremely uncommon. We have an over-active hair hormone (much to the chagrin of female Assyrians). Our food is strange to my friends and when people see my relatives talk, they think we’re shouting at each other (which we are, but that’s how we talk). We’re not normal in every way. A  fact sheet  released at the end of June by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) warns that HIV rates, already at epidemic proportions, are continuing to climb steadily among men who have sex with men (MSM). "Gay and bisexual men remain at the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic," says Jonathan Mermin, the director of the CDC's division of HIV/AIDS prevention. The CDC notes that while homosexual men make up only a very small percentage of the male population (4%), MSM account for over three-quarters of all new HIV infections, and nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of all new infections in 2010 (29,800). As the homosexual movement makes gains in public opinion and politics, the dissenting voice of science continues to unearth health problem after health problem associated with gay sexual behavior. A systematic review of PubMed articles dealing with homosexual activity ( MSM ) and cancer rates found that rates for various cancers skyrocketed for men engaging in homosexual activity. The study, titled “ Cancer and men who have sex with men: a systematic review ,” was  published in  The Lancet  last December. Researchers examined 47 reports that merited inclusion in their study of sexual orientation and cancer rates. They found that the majority of the reports agree that MSM is a significant risk factor for cancer. Researchers found that a dozen of the 47 studies focused on the risk factors for anal cancer, including HPV infection in the anal canal. Homosexual men who have not had sex with other men for five years are now eligible to donate blood to the Canadian Blood Services ( CBS ). The organization revealed yesterday that it has received approval from Health Canada to exchange a lifetime ban on homosexuals donating blood for a deferral system. While homosexual activists have  slammed  the deferral policy as discriminatory towards gay men, a senior Medical Advisor at Health Canada has defended the deferral period as a necessary precaution in protecting the blood supply from the risk of disease caused by MSM (men who have sex with men). “Approximately half of new HIV cases in Canada are MSM. Seventy-five per cent of the males who are newly diagnosed with HIV are MSM",  said  Health Canada’s Robert Cushman to Xtra yesterday. “This is a risk behaviour, not a sexual orientation policy". Recent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on HIV infection in the United States reveal some disturbing trends concerning gay males or, in CDC terminology, “men who have sex with men” ( MSM ). In recent data the CDC estimated that 61 percent of the 48,079 HIV infections diagnosed in 2010 occurred through male to male sexual contact.(1) According to the CDC data, sexual contact and injection drug use are the predominant means by which HIV is transmitted. The CDC data on HIV diagnoses came from forty-six states and five U.S. dependent areas. 29,194 new HIV diagnoses in 2010 were linked to male homosexual contact where no injection drug use took place. There were approximately 4550 HIV male diagnoses linked to heterosexual contact. Injection drug use was involved in 5481 cases.
