Is redefining marriage wrong? - Yes

Image
English: Sigmund Freud (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Over eighty years ago, the influential psychologist Sigmund Freud wrote his seminal work which would come to be known in the English translation as Civilization and Its Discontents . No one familiar with the book could deny its influence on our culture or the fact that it has shaped the mindset regarding sexual ethics that informs many members of the movement to redefine marriage. In one of its most often quoted lines, Freud posits that "what decides the purpose of life is simply the program of the pleasure principle ." Certainly it is unquestionable that much of our culture's confusion regarding marriage is due to following that precise train of thought — the pleasure principle. Redefining Marriage And Its Consequences The push to redefine marriage is about substituting the desires of adults for the needs of children. The push to redefine marriage is about substituting an imagined 'right' for sam

Australia: Airbnb wants you to wear an LGBTQ ring - gimmick!

Image
Launched on Monday, the campaign's called "Until We All Belong," and it has the backing of Google as well as Australia 's largest airline, Qantas, and national bank ANZ . Why is ANZ, QANTAS spending shareholders money on sexual immorality? Does Airbnb really think homosexual marriage will bring belonging and acceptance? Sodomy will always be sodomy. Designed by Marc Newson , the matte black "Acceptance Rings" (which don't completely link up to make a full circle) are a symbol of the need to "close the gap" in marriage equality. This is no different than Kylie Minogue and her sexual partner who said they would not marry until immoral homosexual marriage was made legal. They promoted another gimmick - a very corny t-shirt. Unfortunately, their promise fell flat as her boyfriend ran off with another woman. So much for marriage promises! This is Airbnb justification for supporting sodomy: Airbnb CEO and head of community, Brian Chesky , sa

If you think the gay ‘marriage’ fight is over, you don’t understand the nature of the war

Up until now, I’ve used only secular arguments involving logic, reason, and experience to address the issue of same-sex marriage. That’s how I first came to think about the issue. But  as I explained at  Public Discourse  last year , once I began thinking, reasoning , and examining my life, an extraordinary thing happened: I couldn’t stop. Reason led me to acknowledge natural law , which led me to begin rejecting some of my former ways of thinking and acting. Reason then led me to recognize God . I am now a Christian , and even though I am same-sex attracted—or, more likely,  because  I am same-sex attracted—I marvel at the extraordinary significance of marriage in God’s eternal plan. Marriage is under siege because it stands at the heart of the Good News of the Gospel. I am neither a philosopher nor a theologian, and I possess no advanced degree , but I try to be an informed observer and reasoning contributor as best I can. As a former apologist for the sexual revolution, an

California Drives America Closer to the Great Apostasy

The California Board of Education adopted a framework for a new "LGBT" social studies curriculum that will have national ramifications since textbooks will be written to comply. Starting in second grade, students must be taught about diverse family types in a positive way and must accept that having families with children deprived of a married mother and father is a good thing. In fourth grade they must learn about the redefinition of marriage and therefore must accept that marriage has nothing to do with children and families; it is merely a lifestyle choice for adults. By high school the focus is on the right to create one's own sexual identity and how people have been doing that throughout history. "The greatest concern is that the framework tends to normalize and reinforce things that have led to negative social and human consequences in society such as fatherlessness and children deprived of married mothers and fathers," said William B. May for the

Survey: The more Americans support gay ‘marriage,’ the less they support marriage in general

Image
The National Survey of Family Growth concludes that while more and more Americans support homosexual " marriage ," they simultaneously support marriage less and less. The U.S. Health and Human Services survey, using data from 2011 to 2013, revealed increasing apathy toward marriage in general and a disconnect from the positive role marriage should play in families and individuals. Sixty percent of women ages 15-44 say sodomy is "all right" (up from 42 percent in 2002). Seventy-five percent of women say gay couples should be able to adopt vulnerable children (up from 55 percent). Among men, approval of homosexual adoption is up from 47 percent in 2002 to 68 percent. Seventy-eight percent of women say it's perfectly fine to bear children out of wedlock (up from 70 percent). And nearly three quarters of both men and women are okay with unmarried, cohabiting couples raising a child without even planning a wedding. Marriage has become so disconnected

First Aussie PM participates in open homosexual explicit March

Hot on the heels of a Federal election will be a plebiscite to redefine marriage to allow lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex and others to get 'married'. Well, that’s if 'Mardi Gras Malcolm' has his way. Family First is leading the charge to keep marriage the way that it is. We are very concerned about the Liberals ’ announcement the ‘ Yes ’ and ‘No’ campaigns will not get much funding, and the media bias and censorship preventing the ‘No’ camp getting its fair say. This is just one of the many reasons why I support free speech – so you and I can speak freely about our views on marriage without fear of retribution or prosecution. All Australian vote but only 9 people created Homosexual marriage laws in the USA

Australian federal Government Treasurer Scott Morrison wants to impose fines on people who fail to vote in the government’s same-sex marriage plebiscite, arguing optional voting led to Ireland ’s overwhelming vote in support of gay marriage last year. As senior Liberals retreat from Attorney-General George Brandis ’s commitment to hold a plebiscite by year’s end, Mr Morrison was adamant that all eligible voters be forced to participate in the nationwide opinion poll . “It is a compulsory vote … which is different to what was done in other places like Ireland, so everyone will have to show up like they do in an election,” the Treasurer, an opponent of same-sex marriage, told Sydney ’s 2GB radio. “I think that’s important because we’re going to make this decision — everyone is going to have to live with whatever that decision is on the other side — and the more people that can participate in that in a respectful way, the better.” The Treasurer has also favoured a double-majorit

First Aussie Prime Minister attends Homosexual Mardi Gars

The picture above is a Homosexual Parade where homosexual walk naked in front of children and the Prime Minister of Canada happily attends. Last weekend in Australia the same thing happened. Senator Brandis wants to hold a same-sex marriage plebiscite, and change the Marriage Act , by the end of 2016. Senator Brandis said the government would hold a plebiscite on homosexual marriage before the end of the year if it won the federal election in September 2016. And if there was support for immoral homosexual marriage in Australia, Senator Brandis said, the Coalition government would introduce changes to the Marriage Act that he expected would become law "by the end of the year".  But not every Liberal senator or lower house members agrees with homosexual marriage.   Mr Turnbull's office, however, distanced itself from Brandis' pro-gay push that a plebiscite would be held by the end of the year.  A spokeswoman for Mr Turnbull said only that the

The Marginalization of Moral Argument in the Same-Sex Marriage Debate

“ Somewhere along the way, standing up for gay marriage went from nervy to trendy.” This was the assessment offered by Frank Bruni , an influential openly-gay columnist for The New York Times . Bruni’s column, published just as the Supreme Court was poised to hear oral arguments in the two same-sex marriage cases now before it, is a celebration of the fact that, as he sees it, same-sex marriage is soon to be the law of the land, whatever the Court may decide. “The trajectory is undeniable. The trend line is clear. And the choice before the justices is whether to be handmaidens of history, or whether to sit it out.” Bruni may well be right, given the trajectory and the trend-line he has described. Of course, Bruni, along with his fellow columnists, editors, and reporters for The New York Times will, along with their friends in the larger world of elite media, bear much of the responsibility for this. They are certain that their work is the mission of human liberation from irration
