Foolish Obama: 'Our journey into sin is not complete' until we redefine marriage

WASHINGTON, D.C. , January 21, 2013, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – President Barack Obama forcefully advanced the homosexual agenda in his second inaugural address this afternoon, saying redefining marriage must be enacted “by [God's] people here on earth." “We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths – that all of us are created equal – is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall,” he said. The 1969 Stonewall riots , in which  homosexuals in drag pelted and attempted to immolate police for raiding a Mafia-run gay bar , are considered by many the genesis of the modern homosexual political movement. “Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well,” the president said. I thought I would simply today catalogue some recent statements from various Christians about homosexuality. You will see that there is quite a  spectrum of opinion  represented here. I have no intention of getting into this debate myself, but I think that it is important for all of us to understand just how broad the range of opinion is within the Church today on this subject. Some views are not based on correct biblical viewpoints but reflect cultural pressure.  The past 50 years have been a time of incredible social change. In the UK 50 years ago homosexual activity was illegal. I know of nobody today who would suggest that should still be the case.  But it is a measure of how quickly things have changed that in the USA , Louie Giglio  a leading pastor can now be  disinvited from doing an act of national prayer  because he once taught that the Bible disagrees with homosexual activity. Society as a whole is definitely changing it’s opinion on homosexuality.   A recent surve

Rev. Louie Giglio , the pro-family pastor picked by President Obama to deliver the benediction at his Jan. 21st inauguration, has backed out after a pressure campaign by homosexual activists. Rev. Giglio, who heads Atlanta ’s Passion City Church, said he did not want the inauguration to “be dwarfed by those seeking to make their agenda the focal point.” Rev. Louie Giglio Immediately after Giglio announced his withdrawal, Fox News political analyst Kirsten Powers   tweeted : “The intolerant Left claims another scalp.” Obama’s choice of Giglio on Tuesday quickly came under attack by activists who highlighted a sermon the pastor delivered in the 1990s offering a “Christian response to homosexuality.” In the sermon, the pastor expressed Christian teaching that homosexuality is a sin and that it is possible to leave the homosexual lifestyle “through the healing power of Jesus.” He said Christians must “lovingly but firmly respond” to an “aggressive agenda” by some in the hom

Linking you to the top Christian blog posts of the week—posts that provide robust, rich, and  relevant insights for living. This week several posts related to the uproar over Pastor Lou Giglio ’s invitation to offer the benediction at President Obama’s second inaugural ceremony.   Giglio is Pastor of Atlanta ’s  Passion City Church . He is also founder of the  Passion movement  that brings tens of thousands of Christian young people together, urging a rising generation of young Christians to make a passionate commitment to Christ. In recent years, the movement has also sought to raise awareness and activism among young Christians on the issue of sex trafficking. It was that activism that caught the attention of both President Obama and the Presidential Inaugural Committee . In a statement released to the White House and the Presidential Inaugural Committee, Giglio said that he withdrew because of the furor that emerged after a liberal watchdog group revealed that almost twent
