Italian MPs introduce bill to protect parents’ constitutional rights against confused homosexual ‘gender ideology’

Image
ROME , April 9, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Italian Deputies Eugenia Roccella and Alessandro Pagano have introduced a bill in Parliament that would establish the rights of parents to make decisions about their children’s education, particularly on moral issues. The move comes in response to increasing concerns by some deputies, parent groups, and civil rights organizations that the government is being co-opted by organized activists to push the so-called “gender ideology” in schools and other Italian institutions. Eugenia Roccella The purpose of the bill, Roccella said at a press conference, is to “reaffirm and ensure the fundamental right to educational choice of parents, as set out, inter alia, in the European Convention on Human Rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child .”  Which means in practice, she said, that in all school activities that “relate directly or indirectly to the issues related to relationships, affectivity and sexuality education, and ot

Portugal narrowly rejects gay adoption law

Image
LISBON, Portugal, March 21, 2014  – A bill that proposed to legalize same-sex adoption was rejected Friday in Portugal’s Parliament by a narrow majority. The bill would have allowed one member of a same-sex partnership to adopt the child of the other. In 2012, the government promised a “ co-parenting ” bill saying that “when two people of the same sex are married or cohabiting and one of them has parental responsibility for a minor, by blood or adoption, the spouse may adopt the minor.” The bill was defeated by a center-right coalition in a vote of 112-107 with four abstentions. The same bill was passed at first reading in May 2013, but heavily opposed by the Church. At the same time a bill proposing full joint adoption was defeated in a 104-77 vote. At the moment, homosexual individuals can adopt children in Portugal, but the same-sex “marriage” bill specifically prohibits joint same-sex adoption. At the same time, the Portuguese Constitutional Court  ruled on Mar

Italian singer defends song about gay man becoming straight, but says it ruined his career

MILAN, Italy , – Famed Italian singer Giuseppe Povia says the persecution he has suffered from homosexuals and their allies in the entertainment business following his controversial 2009 song “Luca era gay” (Luca was gay), about a man who converts from the gay lifestyle to heterosexuality, has ruined his career. In his most recent blog entry, Povia says that since he won second prize for the song at Italy’s Sanremo festival , “Gay associations in many provinces have repeatedly invited me to apologize to the gay community,” and he has found it difficult to find work because of a whispering campaign against him by homosexuals. Italian singer Giuseppe Povia “ Apologize for what? For singing a song? A true story?” asks Povia, adding that he “wants to apologize for not realizing we live in a violent media, psychological, artistic and cultural dictatorship.” “Wherever I present myself … there’s always prejudice,” continued the singer. “Povia is evil, he’s against gay peo

UK Bishop Davies: Catholics oppose same-sex ‘marriage’ out of love

Image
SHREWSBURY, England , March 19, 2014  - In an interview touching on life, family, faith, and culture, Shrewsbury Bishop Mark Davies said that despite perceptions of hate and prejudice, the real reason why Christians oppose same-sex “ marriage ” is out of love.  “It is often said that there is a prejudicial hate, a sense of discrimination [that] lies behind the teachings of the Church and the Christian understanding of marriage,” he said. On the contrary, “what we need to always emphasize is that what lies behind this is love – a genuine love for every person. That love very much extends, by the Church, to those who experience same-sex attraction .” With same-sex “marriage” having passed into law last July and come into force in England last week, Bishop Davies said that the battle must continue.  “The essential battle is now for the very foundations of marriage, its identity in the union of man and woman, a lasting union, a union which is open to life and thereby the fou

70 percent of teens with ‘gay’ attraction later say they are exclusively heterosexual: study

Image
ITHACA, NY ,  - Questions are being raised about the validity of research on teenagers with same-sex attractions after a Cornell University professor found that more than 70 percent of teens who said they had ever had a same-sex “romantic attraction” later told researchers that they were unreservedly heterosexual . The study, published last month in the  Archives of Sexual Behavior , analyzed data from the  National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health , also known as Add Health, which conducted four waves of surveys on teens as they matured into adulthood from 1994 to 2008. Study author Ritch Savin-Williams , director of Cornell's Sex and Gender Lab, said that some of the "inconsistent" data may have been caused by confusion over the questions in Add Health, which could have led some teens to incorrectly say they were homosexuals. But Savin-Williams highlighted "the existence of mischievous adolescents who played a ‘jokester’ role" "In t

Coca-Cola launches ads depicting gay ‘marriage’ as antidote to ‘hatred’

Image
January 7, 2014   – Coca-Cola has launched a series of TV ads in four countries portraying same-sex relationships as a counterweight to displays of "hatred.” As part of its “ Reasons to Believe ” campaign, Coca-Cola has run  four ads  tailored to Irish , Dutch, Norweigan, and British audiences. All but the Irish ad show two men holding hands in what appears to be the end of a same-sex “marriage” ceremony. The ads consist of alternating positive and negative images, culminating in how life is better with Coke. One man is shown playing with a cat, another is shown tripping off a stage, and other people are shown in sporting events, raising money for a cure, and other common situations. In the ads showing the two men post-ceremony, their vignette follows a scene where a car is being kicked by unidentified people.  According to the ad's on-screen text, “For every display of hatred...there are 5,000 celebrations of love.” Monica Cole, director of

Marxist roots of ‘homosexualism’

Image
Top UK homosexualist activist Peter Tatchell recently penned a paean to a Manifesto put together in 1971 that gives a blueprint of the homosexualist "revolution" necessary to topple the traditional family. Dulcielee/Flickr I have been asked recently “what is homosexualism?” I started using the term in my writing on these issues a few years ago when it became clear that we were dealing not with a group of people, but with a particular ideology that is often held by people who are not themselves homosexuals. A few days ago in The Guardian ,  Peter Tatchell wrote  a pretty good description not only of that ideology’s goals but its origins. This political ideology, often called “queer theory” by its proponents in academia, is what is being pushed, quite openly these days, by the “gay rights” movement. Despite what we are told all day by their collaborators in the mainstream media, from the six o’clock news to your favourite sit-com, this movement is not about “equal
