A Christian business owner in Pennsylvania has won a rare court victory after refusing to host a same-sex “wedding” at his banquet hall . John Antolick was sued by Ashley Giarratano and her mother, Barb, for a refund of the $1,000 deposit they had put down for Giarratano’s wedding and reception after learning through social media that his Inne of the Abingtons banquet hall had previously turned down a lesbian couple who wanted to hold their “wedding” at the facility. Giarratano is heterosexual and engaged to a man, but her mother told Citizen’s Voice that “discrimination goes against everything we believe in as a family,” and that “our conscience wouldn’t allow us to invite our gay and lesbian friends and family to a wedding at a place they know openly discriminates against them.” But Antolick denies discriminating against lesbians and gays. "We are happy to host dinners, birthday parties, or just about any other kind of event regardless of a client's sexual orientati

Federal judge upholds New Jersey’s ban on reparative therapy for minors: exposing children to suicide and sexual immoral confusion

A federal judge has ruled that a New Jersey law barring therapists from trying to eliminate homosexual urges in children does not violate therapists’ freedom of speech or religion. Two New Jersey-based therapists, along with the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality and the American Association of Christian Counselors , had sued to block the law’s enforcement, arguing that that it violates therapists’ free speech rights by prohibiting them from offering their minor patients reparative therapy designed to help them overcome unwanted same-sex attraction .  Two New Jersey-based therapists had sued to block the law’s enforcement, arguing that that it violates therapists’ free speech rights. But on Friday, Judge Freda L. TRENTON , NJ , August 19, 2013 ( LifeSiteNew s.com ) – Chris Christie signed a controversial bill that bans parents from seeking therapy to help their underage children reduce unwanted same-sex attraction today. In his signing statement (reproduced below), he said he supported the “government limiting parental choice on the care and treatment of their own children” only “reluctantly.” However, he felt that “exposing children to these health risks without clear evidence of benefits that outweigh these serious risks is not appropriate.” Christie also signed a bill allowing children greater access to edible medicinal marijuana. Critics say medicinal marijuana has not been adequately tested. In a press release that accompanied the statement, Christie said, “I’ve always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual,” quoting a statement he made on CNN . “My religion says [homosexuality is] a sin. But for me, I don’t” agree. New Jersey is the se

6-year-old ‘transgender’ boy must be allowed to use girls’ bathroom: Colorado officials

DENVER, CO , June 25, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Colorado governing body has ruled that a 6-year old boy, who his parents claims is ‘ transgender ,’ was discriminated against when officials at his elementary school prohibited him from using the girls ’ restroom . In 2011, when Coy Mathis started elementary school, his family and school agreed to treat Coy as a girl and let him use the girls’ restroom.  However, the school decided to ban Coy from his continued use of the girls’ facilities this past winter break.  The reason for the school’s change has not been made public. Parents of the six-year-old boy filed a complaint with The Colorado Division of Civil Rights in February. On June 18, the board’s director, Steven Chavez, issued his ruling, in which he said the school’s actions were reminiscent of the pre-civil rights movement segregation attitude of “separate but equal,” and thus Mathis’s rights had been violated.  Coy Mathis before his parents began dressing him
