How homosexuality treats Romans 1:26-27

Paul, a Hellenistic Jew, was very influential on the shift of Christianity to Gentile dominated movement. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Romans 1:26–27. Perhaps no New Testament text has suffered more assaults than has Romans 1. Central to the revisionist approach to Romans 1 is the focus on new ways of understanding the meaning of nature (physis) in verses 26–27. The verses read (NIV), Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. The words for “natural relations” represent more literally “natural use” (physikēn chrēsin). Unnatural relations, the

Is disapproving of homosexuality and homosexual marriage spreading hate?

Portal of the Church of Pilgrims, in Washington, DC, with a LGBT banner. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Is disapproving of homosexuality and homosexual marriage spreading hate?  Teaching that homosexuality is a  sin  is not spreading hate anymore than teaching that lying is a sin is spreading hate. Christians can disapprove of a behavior and still be civil and loving to the ones with whom we disagree. According to the  Bible , Christians are to live in peace with everyone as much as possible (Rom. 12:18); but we are not to compromise the word of God and participate in those things to which the Scriptures speak against.  Furthermore, when we call homosexuality a sin, we are saying that it violates the Word of God.  It is breaking the law of God and is therefore wrong.  But we Christians meet sinners every day, and we treat them lovingly.  This is what the New Testament tells us.  Jesus said, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Why Jesus didn't say anything about homosexuality?

Image
English: John the Baptist baptizing Christ (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) If you’ve ever said that homosexuality is a sin, there’s a good chance that someone tried to correct you with, “ Jesus never said anything about homosexuality.” It doesn’t matter what Bible verse you believe bolsters your claim, they believe that Jesus’ silence on the matter trumps all other considerations. But there are a number of reasons why this objection doesn’t work. First, it’s not certain that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. The Gospel writers didn’t record everything that Jesus said – only what they thought was important to their audience. Indeed, most of what Jesus said (and did) was never written down. John 21:25 says, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.” It’s possible Jesus did talk about homosexuality, but the Gospel writers didn’t feel it

Leading Rabbi ‘mortified’ after Biden praises Jews’ ‘immense influence’ in promoting gay ‘marriage’

A leading Rabbi says he is furious after Vice President Joseph Biden   credited  Jewish leaders last week for the success of same-sex ‘marriage’ in America . “The Jewish people have contributed greatly to America. No group has had such an outsized influence per capita as all of you standing before you,” Biden said last Tuesday night at a reception hosted by the Democratic National Committee in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month .  Rabbi Yehuda Levin Biden offered praise for Jewish cultural and artistic “movements in America” that he said were responsible for changing the country’s attitudes on marriage.  “I bet you 85 percent of those changes, whether it’s in Hollywood or social media are a consequence of Jewish leaders in the industry. The influence is immense, the influence is immense. And, I might add, it is all to the good,” he said.  Biden’s comments have caused outrage.  “I’m mortified, I’m absolutely mortified,” said Rabbi Yehuda Levin, spokesman for the U

Lesbians force their relationship on Christian B&B owner operator

The owners of a guesthouse who refused to let a lesbian couple share a bed are standing firm despite threats. Karen and Michael Ruskin, of Pilgrim Planet Lodge, in central Whangarei , say they have received death threats and verbal abuse over their stance on homosexuality. But they say they will not have their beliefs silenced, even if it puts their business at risk. Lesbian couple Jane Collison, 30, and Paula Knight, 45, decided not to stay at the lodge on May 7 after being told they could only have a room with single beds. They had booked online a room with a king-sized bed but Mrs Ruskin said that when the couple arrived they were told the lodge's policy was for same-sex couples to be put into a room with two king-single beds. The engaged couple decided not to stay but could not find other accommodation until they got to Waipu . Mrs Ruskin said she was sorry for the couple's inconvenience but was standing firm on her morals and the sanctity of her home. The Ruskins live in

Did Christ address homosexuality?

Jesus Christ - detail from Deesis mosaic, Hagia Sophia, Istanbul (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) John the Baptist baptizing Christ (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The Gay activist argument is: since Jesus was silent on homosexuality , he must not have thought it’s wrong. It’s as if Jesus’ silence on the matter trumps all other considerations. Although that sign might have rhetorical power, there are a number of reasons why this argument doesn’t work. First, it’s not certain that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. The Gospel writers didn’t record everything that Jesus said – only what they thought was important to their audience. Indeed, most of what Jesus said (and did) was never written down. Gay and the Bible (Romans)

Image
Image via Wikipedia Author Elodie Ballantine Emig Romans 1:26,27 is perhaps the most difficult passage in the Bible for pro-gay, revisionist theologians.  Not only does it appear to condemn male homosexuality, but lesbianism as well. So too, revisionists cannot dismiss it as being part of the Old Testament Law, subsequently fulfilled in Christ. Nor can they write it off as part of a “vice list” which Paul may have borrowed and with which he may not have been in entire agreement.  Taken at face value, in Romans 1 we find Paul’s pronouncement that homosexuality is both shameful and unnatural. Before we examine the revisionist reactions to and interactions with the passage, however, we must turn to introductory matters. It is useful to know that Paul had not planted the church in Rome. Although he knew some of the Roman Christians (see chapter 16), he did not have the intimate relationship with them that he had with the recipients of his other letters.  Romans is the least occasional of
