Obama twisted Civil Rights Act to promote gay agenda: appeals court

Image
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has ruled that President Obama's redefinition of Title VII anti-discrimination law to include homosexuals and transgender persons is not actual or enforceable. The court ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act does not address workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Hively v. Ivy Tech Community College   dealt with an adjunct professor at the school, Kimberly Hively, who claimed that the non-renewal of her teaching contract was because she was openly living as a lesbian.  Hively sued ITCC, but her   case   was dismissed in court because “Title VII does not apply to claims of sexual orientation discrimination, and therefore Hively has made a claim for which there is no legal remedy.” Hively appealed, but again, the appellate court ruled that Title VII does not deal with sexual orientation. The judges expressed sympathy for gay people losing their jobs, but the court decided to legally interpret

Homosexual orientation and attraction examined through scripture

Many good resources concerning the Bible and homosexuality have emerged over the past five years. Two of the more popular volumes are Kevin DeYoung ’s What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality? (Crossway 2015) and Sam Alberry’s Is God Anti-Gay? (Good Book Company 2013). Each of these books has proven to be helpful for Christians seeking better to understand our own faith and the ongoing war against sin. The thrust of these volumes is to understand the biblical position concerning homosexuality. For authors Denny Burk and Heath Lambert, the time has arrived for moving the conversation another step forward. According to Burk and Lambert, evangelicals share a consistent conviction that homosexual practice is sinful according to the Scriptures. Division now is taking place at the level of attraction, desire, and temptation. The evangelical conversation must address whether or not same-sex attraction is sinful. In their own description of this volume, P&R Publishing sa

Minnesota parents sue school for refusing to teach 5-year-olds about transgenderism

Image
The parents of a kindergartener are suing his former charter school for refusing to teach about transgenderism , which they say violated their son’s rights.  David and Hannah Edwards partnered with an organization called Gender Justice to file a complaint with the city’s Department of Human Rights .  The complaint   alleges that Nova Classical Academy denied their son’s “right to undergo a gender transition in a safe and timely way” and “failed to protect students from gender-based bullying and hostility” by not “conduct[ing] gender education,” allowing families to opt-out of classroom instruction on transgenderism, refusing to inform their son’s classmates of his “preferred” gender pronouns, and not allowing a pro-transgender book to be part of the kindergarteners’ classroom instruction. The Edwards parents allege that when their five-year-old son “expressed a consistent, persistent, and insistent desire to socially transition from male to female,” they met with Nova Class

Homosexuality - the competing visions of sexuality as they relate to morality and the common good.

Image
Transgender moral mental confusion  Wikipedia ) Australia ’s current sexual mess finds its roots in the past – back to the sixties and before. The sexual revolution has affected our culture . The acceptance of no fault divorce culture, marriage as a contract and not a covenant, liberation of sex from reproduction, the prevalence of heterosexual cohabitation, the normalization of homosexuality, and the rise of the transgender movement has led to the moral insanity of our culture. In particular regarding birth control and contraception, I think virtually no one understood the eventual moral revolution that would be accelerated by that. And you add to that the therapeutic revolution and a revolution in the academic culture with post modernism and moral relativism, and you’re going to have all that before you get same sex marriage. Transgenderism is specifically the claim that gender is a social construct and that every individual is autonomous to determine what gender in terms o

Ireland abandons its children - again to homosexual marriage

Image
Ireland has written a social suicide note and we grieve for her. But we will not follow her. More than half the Irish have voted for homosexual marriage , seduced by celebrities to violate something they once held sacred: the life between mother, father and child. From today, the Irish Constitution assumes a mother does not matter to a baby, and a father is irrelevant to his son. That is madness. A constitutional right to same-sex marriage means a constitutional right to same-sex adoption and surrogacy, and that means motherless and fatherless families are now enshrined as an ideal in the Irish Constitution. Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny said the vote was “Yes to love” -- but there are children who will never know the love of their mother because of Friday’s constitutional amendment. He said it was “Yes to inclusion” -- but it deliberately excludes children of same-sex couples from “the natural and fundamental group unit of society”, which is how the Universal Declaration o

References to Sodom in Ezekiel 16 speak about homosexual acts

Image
Sodom and Gomorrha, Alte Pinakothek, Room 23 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) To understand how the destruction of Sodom was interpreted later, we must turn to Ezekiel ’s reference. According to the revisionist view, Ezekiel 16 lists the sins of Sodom categorically and finds them less serious than the sexual sins of Jerusalem . Revisionists point to verses 48–49. There, they say, we find that Sodom’s sins were pride, gluttony, idleness, and neglect (or, according to Edwards, oppression) of the poor and needy.68 The passage does not mention homosexuality. However, Boswell and Bailey and others interpret these two verses incorrectly because they fail to consider their context, especially verse 50.69 In the passage, Ezekiel compares Jerusalem with her two sisters, the elder Samaria and the younger Sodom. He finds that Jerusalem, is worse than either of the others (note 16:47–52). Sodom obviously is a figurative term here, probably a reference to Judah as a whole.70 Ezekiel 16:2 sets forth

Judge rules Newfoundland discriminated against marriage commissioner who refused to do gay ‘weddings’

ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland, February 12, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A Supreme Court judge in Newfoundland says the province discriminated against a marriage commissioner who was forced to resign in 2005 after she refused to conduct same-sex “weddings.” Newfoundland Supreme Court Justice Alphonsus E. Faour said that the province's conduct was "a prima facie case of religious discrimination" on the basis of Desirée A. Dichmont’s religious beliefs . In his February 9 ruling, he ordered the province's Human Rights Tribunal to give a full hearing to a complaint by Dichmont complaint that the province violated her religious and conscience rights. A Second World War veteran and recipient of the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals, Dichmont was a marriage commissioner from 1997 to 2005. As a Christian, she believes marriage is a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman. In January 2005, Ms. Dichmont was forced to resign as a civil marriage commissi

Court awards ‘trans’ student $75,000, orders school to allow boys into girls’ bathroom

Bangor Daily News building (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) A court in Maine has ordered the Orono School District to pay $75,000 to a homosexual advocacy group and allow self-identified “transgender” students to use the bathrooms of the opposite sex, ending a nearly seven-year legal battle that began after school officials tried to safely accommodate a boy living as a girl who was bullied in the girls’ restroom. Wyatt Maines, now 17, began living as a girl in 3 rd  grade with the apparent blessing of the Orono School District, which allowed him to go by the name “Nicole” and use facilities meant for females even though he is biologically male. (He has since made the name change legal.)  But after a bullying incident in the girls’ bathroom at Asa Adams Elementary School led the district to walk back its liberal policy for Maines’ own protection, requiring him to use single-stall restrooms normally reserved for staff and assigning him a between-class adult minder to ensure his safet

UN passes bullying resolution: Western nations lament lack of ‘sexual orientation’ protections

Once the resolution was adopted by consensus on Monday, countries behind it wasted no time in making their intentions known. “We regret that bullying because of the sexual orientation and gender identity of children or their parents was not reflected in the resolution,” said the European Union . The United States echoed those sentiments in an ad hoc intervention to highlight specifically that health concerns of LGBT youth must be reflected in the report of the Secretary General mandated in the resolution. Several countries in Latin America, Australia, and Nordic countries made statements to also express frustration for failing once again to have a reso
