Did Jesus talk about homosexuality?

The Destruction Of Sodom And Gomorrah, a painting by John Martin (painter), died 1854, thus 100 years. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) There is nothing recorded in the four Gospels were Jesus specifically mentions homosexuality the way Paul did in 1 Cor. 6:9. But, He does condemn it indirectly by affirming the Old Testament standard of heterosexual marriage as well as citing Old Testament references of condemnation where homosexuality was involved. Let's take a look at some of the things he said.  Matthew 10:15, "Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for  the  land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city." Matthew 19:4 -6, "And He answered and said, 'Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 “So they are no longer two, but one fles

The Queen James Bible, the Gay Bible

English: Title page of The Holy Bible, King James version, 1772. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The Queen James Bible , also known as the Gay Bible, is a new assault on biblical orthodoxy and sexual purity.  This is to be expected in a world of moral relativism.  In it, the 1769 King James  Bible  has been reproduced with only a very few select verses altered--the ones that relate to homosexuality.  Those verses are listed below and analyzed.  I hope you will see that the Queen James Bible is a perversion of the original text and is the result of obvious prejudices against the original Hebrew and Greek texts in order to make homosexual practices appear acceptable. The interlinear citations are taken from two sources.  An interlinear is a listing of the original languages that is reproduced from the most ancient and best manuscripts with English translations under it.  This way, the reader can see for himself what the original says. Christian Gay confusion over God

Christ the Saviour (Pantokrator), a 6th-century encaustic icon from Saint Catherine's Monastery, Mount Sinai. NB - slightly cut down - for full size see here (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) God ’s love and His holiness are broken out into different aspects in Scripture.  Within His love, for example, we can distinguish mercy, forbearance, kindness, and compassion.  Within His holiness, we can see righteousness , faithfulness, justice, judgment , and wrath. God’s holy-love is shorthand for His entire character . SOME GROUPS WANT TO SEPARATE GOD What this hyphenated language does is remind us that God’s character is whole. The God who “is love” ( 1 John 4:8 ) is always, everywhere, and at the same time, the God who is a “consuming fire” ( Heb. 12:29 ) and the One who is “light” ( 1 John 1:5 ).  When we meet God, we meet Him in the wholeness of His character. His judgment, for example, is always preceded by His patience.  It is always shadowed by His mercy. His love, i

Did Jesus condemn Homosexuality?

Image
Adam and Eve (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Pro-homosexual writers make a great deal of the fact that Christ did not mention homosexuality in any of His recorded teachings. Jesus also didn't speak about smoking or cocaine. Nevertheless, our Lord was not silent on the subject of sex. He condemned adultery ( Matt. 5:27–28), and exalted the heterosexual relationship God created when He made Adam and Eve (Matt. 19:3–6; Mark 10:6–9). From the time of creation God’s standard has been male with female, which our Lord clearly endorsed. Ryrie, C. C. (1991). Biblical answers to tough questions (p. 118). Chicago, IL : Moody Press . Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Colossians 1:24–29 “I became a minister…to make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints” (vv. 25–26). The liberal theology that emerged from the nineteenth century and still plagues the church even today was not only influenced by the radical immanentism of Hegel and the radical subjectivism of Schleiermacher . Naturalism , a view that holds nothing exists except the physical universe, also had a profound impact on liberalism. The result was a crop of liberal theologians who did not believe in the miraculous. Some of them even denied the existence of the personal God altogether. These men tried to explain away the many supernatural references in the Gospels , viewing the miracles purely in materialistic terms. The feeding of the five thousand, for example, was not a supernatural multiplication of a few loaves and fishes. Instead, Jesus was able
