Liberal Pastor says homosexual sin is an arbitrary religious belief

Image
Rev. Paul Raushenbush says:  By accepting the case of the Colorado baker who refused to bake a cake for a homosexual couple, the Supreme Court is opening up the possibility that an arbitrary religious belief might be used to sanction discrimination and refusal of service to a citizen. Religious freedom is a foundational principle of our country, something we should all hold sacred. However, when one person’s beliefs turn into actions that trample on the dignity of another, freedom of religion morphs into deified discrimination.  Unfortunately, Raushenbush doesn't believe the Bible that homosexuality is not a sin but a dignified lifestyle choice. His words, mean if Jesus were to condemn a sinner in effect Jesus is - 'trampling the dignity of another.' Even for a liberal, the argument is weak. Are homosexual pride marches dignified or just an excuse for overt sexual nudity?  Rev. Paul Raushenbush goes further clearly implying he is not a pastor of the Christ

Seven ways the ‘logic’ of progressives is destroying society

Image
Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay pride. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) I’d like to offer seven reasons that I believe progressivism is well on its way to destroying Western Civilization — if it has not already. They don’t believe in freedom of speech. This should be obvious to anyone who reads the news. When progressives are faced with speech they don’t like, they utilize every tool at their disposal to shut it down, up to and including violence — and usually  while simultaneously playing the victim card . Conservative speakers need bodyguards for protection. Pro-life displays are  frequently attacked and torn down . Some controversial speakers actually face  riots, vandalism, and violence prior  to having arrived and prior to having actually said anything—and even feminist icons like Germaine Greer are having their speaking engagements targeted for refusing to embrace the current transgender craze. In Australia they plowed a vehicle into their office and lit gas tanks, threaten hote

Trump signs order protecting freedom for opponents of homosexual ‘marriage’

Image
President Donald Trump signed an executive order on religious liberty this morning. The order, titled "Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty ," allows churches to speak about politics from the pulpit while keeping their tax-exempt status and it provides regulatory relief for ordinary Americans who don't subscribe to gender ideology or believe in same-sex "marriage.” However, religious liberty advocates say it does not go nearly far enough. The Order was signed in the White House Rose Garden on the National Day of Prayer . "Today my administration is leading by example as we take historic steps to protect religious liberty in the United States of America ," said President Trump during his speech.  "We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied, or silenced anymore. And we will never ever stand for religious discrimination. Never ever," he said.  Read executive order "Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liber

Religious Freedom or LGBTQ Extremists

speaking at CPAC in Washington D.C. on February 10, 2011. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The issue of religious liberty is one of the most important for people of faith , who happen to be the key voting block most responsible for electing Donald Trump as president. Evangelicals voted over 80% for Mr. Trump, and Catholics went for him by 52%. Now it's time for the administration to act to protect people of faith from being discriminated against because of their faith. President Trump's aides have prepared an important Executive Order for the president to sign that will prevent the federal government from discriminating against people of faith. Under former President Obama , people of faith were denied access to government contracts, Christian colleges were threatened with having their accreditation stripped over things like student housing policies, and nonprofit groups were threatened with loss of tax exempt status for failure to endorse the agenda of LGBT extremists,

Archbishop rebukes US gvmt official’s claim that religious liberty is just ‘code’ for ‘homophobia’

Image
The head of the U.S. Bishops’ committee on religious freedom challenged recent charges of hypocrisy leveled by the chairman of a federal civil rights commission against religious Americans concerned their faith is under attack in society. Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore issued a  statement  calling accusations of bigotry against people of faith by U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Chairman Martin Castro irresponsible and said the comments show deep disrespect for the basis for Castro’s own work on the Commission. “He makes the shocking suggestion that Catholic, evangelical, orthodox Jewish, Mormon, and Muslim communities are comparable to fringe segregationists from the civil rights era,” the chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops ' Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty said. “These statements painting those who support religious freedom with the broad brush of bigotry are reckless and reveal a profound disregard for the religious foundation

The motivation of Christians is hate not revelation

Image
The motivation of Christians is HATE not Biblical revelation says the US Commission on Civil Rights. This is the next creative form of attack on Christians. Before it was bigots, haters, etc and now it is pure hate without reference to any biblical prohibitions against homosexuality. Last week the U.S. Civil Rights Commission issued a report that implies religious believers’ support of religious liberty is often motivated more by hate than by adherence to God’s revelation. The Background:  The  U.S. Commission on Civil Rights  is an independent, bipartisan agency established by Congress in 1957 whose duties include appraising federal laws and policies with respect to discrimination or denial of equal protection of the laws because of “race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin, or in the administration of justice” and to submit reports, findings, and recommendations to the President and Congress. The commission’s latest briefing report is titl

Mississippi’s gov. faces down the corporate bullies and leftist pressure groups

Image
On Tuesday, Gov. Phil Bryant of Mississippi signed the Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act into law . To protect religious liberty in his state, he stood up against corporate bullies and leftist pressure groups. The Republican governor should be an inspiration to lawmakers everywhere. In the last few years, states and localities nationwide have prosecuted small businesses for declining involvement in gay marriage ceremonies. We’ve seen the government do some pretty terrible things, like Washington state   trying to bankrupt a 70-year-old florist , or Oregon fining a bakery $135,000 and then  placing a gag order on the owners  to silence them. We’ve even seen the most intolerant tendencies of the Left’s rank-and-file when  a pizza place in Indiana was threatened with violence  for even discussing the  possibility  of not participating in a gay wedding celebration. The message has been clear: It’s not enough to respect everyone, to live

Religious Freedom is now gone in the USA

Image
All across America , LGBT extremists are working overtime to force devout Christians and other people of faith to personally participate in celebrating a same-sex ' marriage ' even when doing so violates their deeply held religious beliefs. Those who have refused to abandon God 's commands when it comes to marriage have been hit with lawsuits and huge fines, lost their jobs and even been put in jail.  This must stop, For years, LGBT activists lied to Americans about gay 'marriage,' claiming that redefining marriage to suit their demands would not hurt anyone. Instead, people's lives have been ruined and the sexual extremists are intent on forcing every person in America to genuflect at the altar of gay "rights." It is outrageous that gay and lesbian extremists have been allowed to discriminate against, harass and punish Christians and others when it comes to marriage. Fortunately, the Mississippi legislature is on the precipice of enacting

Leaders cave into LGBT lies and agenda

Betrayal: In Georgia, turncoat Republican Governor Nathan Deal just vetoed an extremely modest bill to protect pastors and churches from having to participate in same-sex 'weddings' and give some minor protection to religious schools from having to hire someone who openly opposes their religious beliefs. Deal ignored dozens of examples of discrimination against people of faith that have occurred across the country and instead adopted the approach advocated by LGBT extremists that any accommodation of religious objections to gay 'marriage' amounts to "discrimination" against gays and lesbians. Deal and the extremists demand that every single person, religious organization and small business in Georgia agree to personally participate in a same-sex 'wedding' ceremony if asked, regardless of their deeply-held religious views. Backlash: It is now clear that LGBT extremists and the left will accept absolutely no dissent from the orthodoxy they wish to i

Georgia’s GOP gov. vetoes bill to stop pastors from being forced to perform gay ‘weddings’

Facing a nationwide boycott that threatened the economic well-being of his state, the governor of Georgia announced Monday that he would veto a bill to enshrine First Amendment protections for pastors and religious organizations with a traditional view of marriage. The Free Exercise Protection Act (H.B. 757) would have specified that clergy do not have to perform same-sex “marriages,” and that religious organizations do not have to rent out their facilities for such a ceremony, nor do they have to hire anyone if doing so would violate the group's sincerely held religious beliefs about human sexuality. The bill also forbade the state from requiring businesses to remain open on Saturday or Sunday if doing so would prevent attendance at religious services. Gov. Deal , a Republican, said Monday that he favored the early version of the bill. But the NFL threatened to pull the Super Bowl out of the state if it passed.
