Italian homophobia bill will ‘be used to persecute the Church’: HLI Rome head

Image
ROME , January 16, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The Italian Senate is again considering the “Mancino law,” a bill that proposes to criminalize “homophobia,” but this time the bill is gaining increasing opposition – both from Christians, who are concerned about civil liberties , and from homosexual activists, who consider that amendments have rendered it “toothless.” On Saturday, a large rally was held in Rome against the bill organized by the recently formed Manif Pour Tous Italia, a civil liberties association that is concerned that such laws curtail human rights, rather than defending them. Opponents have been vocal in their concerns that the bill will threaten Article 21 in the Italian constitution that guarantees freedom of thought and opinion and the safeguards of the natural family in Articles 29, 30 and 32 that specify that marriage can only be between a man and a woman. Will the ABC Online present balanced reporting on the Homosexual Marriage debate?

Image
ABC chairman Jim Spigelman has sought to defend the national broadcaster against attacks from "conservative" critics, announcing a number of external audits to assess any bias in its reporting. If you look at the ABC Online "Analysis and Opinion" section every articleon Homosexuality is pro-homosexual in content and emphasis. Arguments against Homosexuality and homosexual Marriage are not presented anywhere in any of these opinion pieces . The numbers are staggering with regards to reporting homosexual events and contents in the news with no contrary views that most Australians hold. The spokesman for Marriage Equality is constantly being quoted and reported. This is beyond bias this is promotion of a lifestyle that is a choice, or fluid as one ABC article stated. The ABC decided that homosexuality is a human right. No articles appears that state homosexuality is an offence and sin against God. Even the reporting of the huge street marchers against homose

Fighting back against the global LGBT agenda: the resistance arises

October 29, 2013 ( Public Discourse ) - On September 14, 2013, I had the privilege of attending the “ Summer University ” of the Manif pour Tous . The latter is the French grassroots movement that sprang up last year as a counterrevolution against President Hollande’s same-sex marriage law. While I had been involved in the Manif since January, it was at the September conference that I saw the larger picture of what is happening in Europe. This year I also traveled to Brussels, Strasbourg, and London for the first time, on a mission to forge a transnational alliance for children’s rights. Those who have defended marriage until now may feel beleaguered. They may be irritated with the press’s misconstruing of Pope Francis ’s multiple comments about compassion toward homosexuals. Nevertheless, Europe ought not to be cause for pessimism. On the contrary, Europe has an active underground building Defense of the Family 2.0. Debating Marriage: What's a " Hater " To Do? In the   Public Discourse   today,   Narrator   Principal Brian Brown writes on the need for marriage advocates to discuss marriage in a way that appeals not only to reason, but also to emotion, intuition, and imagination. Brown outlines Nathan Hitchen's document  You’ve Been Framed: A New Primer for the Marriage Debate   to suggests several methods of unifying marriage advocates "so that we can pursue a future in which we are no longer viewed as haters and bad guys." Hitchen argues that to change aspirations, marriage advocates must understand five basic things: Emotion , which interacts with reason in people’s moral imaginations; Narratives , which shape people’s biases about pretty much everything; Stories , which make things relatable and personal in a way no courtroom argument does; Metaphors , which allow the mind to easily process and retain complex ideas; and Memes , which are easily rep

Police used systematic violent force against French traditional marriage demonstrators: report

Image
A report  will be presented today at a hearing at the Council of Europe detailing systematic use of excessive and violent police actions by France’s socialist government to suppress opposition to the same-sex “marriage” law. (Read the report  here  - PDF) The report on the French “Manif pour Tous and its police repression” will be presented in conjunction with today’s session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and will be presented to the United Nations in Geneva . Reports of police violence, including arbitrary arrest and pepper spraying, were rife during the demonstrations against the new gay "marriage" law. The hearing was organized by the European People’s Party and the Strasbourg-based European Centre for Law and Justice , in the presence of Luca Volontè, President of the EPP Group . The report contains numerous testimonies of victims of police brutality in the course of several mass demonstrations against “gay marriage.” Since late 20

French mayor refuses to ‘marry’ homosexual couple: risks years in jail

Image
The mayor of a small town in France’s Basque region has announced his refusal to carry out a “marriage” between two men who reside in his jurisdiction, becoming the first mayor to defy the country’s new law that applies the name and rights of “ matrimony ” to couples of the same sex. Jean-Michel Colo, a conservative who heads the town of Arcangues in the southern Basque region of Pyrenees-Atlantiques , faces the possibility of a prison sentence of up to five years and a fine of 75,000 euros (100,000 USD), according to French media sources.   However, he appears to be unafraid of the consequences of his stand, telling the media that he will “go all the way to the gallows” to oppose the law.  “I don’t give lessons, I’m not inciting other mayors to follow my example, but I won’t enforce an illegitimate law,” says Colo. “My seven councilmen and I are completely in agreement in saying that we will not participate in this charade.”  The mayor’s stand is expected to be o

France dislikes immoral homosexual marriage

"...The French resistance to same-sex marriage has demonstrated that an ostensibly progressive nation that had little issue with homosexuality as a moral question can  change its mind,  not based on ignorance of reality, but based on  knowing more about what same-sex marriage really means.   ... The drop in support for same-sex marriage came with education and broader public debate. As the French knew more gay people individually and learned more about the ramifications of their legalized marriage on the community at large—especially children and poor communities overseas targeted for  adoption  and  surrogacy —they liked the idea of same-sex marriage less and less. ... France proves that no opinion trend on any graph can be taken for granted as perpetual. In the United States we knew this already; we simply weren’t aware that we knew it. We know from the abortion debate that what seems like a steady march of acceptance can actually grind to a halt or reverse. The G
