Adult offspring of lesbians says homosexual marriage is bad for kids

TESTIMONY: BISEXUAL MAN RAISED BY LESBIANS SAYS IT HURTS KIDS Psychologists come from the same field that used to have a “consensus” that homosexuality was a mental disorder. Neither field is equipped to answer the deeper existential dilemmas of legally removing fatherhood or motherhood as a human principle, which is what total “marriage equality” would entail. I support same-sex civil unions and foster care , but I have always resisted the idea that government should encourage same-sex couples to imagine that their partnerships are indistinguishable from actual marriages. Such a self-definition for gays would be based on a lie, and anything based on a lie will backfire. The richest and most successful same-sex couple still cannot provide a child something that the poorest and most struggling spouses can provide: a mom and a dad. Having spent forty years immersed in the gay community, I have seen how that reality triggers anger and vicious recrimination from same-sex coupl

13-year-old says ‘gay porn’ led to repeated rape of 4-year-old

CALGARY, Alberta , August 10, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A 13-year-old boy is awaiting sentencing in Calgary after pleading guilty to raping a four-year-old boy in his foster home . The teen, identified as T, told police after his arrest on Jan. 3rd that the idea for the assaults, which occurred over the course of a year, came from watching “gay porn” on his foster parents’ home computer. T’s assaults were discovered when he was caught in the midst of an attack by a neighbor who could see in the bedroom window from his office next door. The neighbour called 911, and when police arrived fifteen minutes later he pointed them to the window where the assault was still in progress. The neighbor said the light in the bedroom went out as soon as the police knocked on the front door. T answered and admitted to the assault. Judge Lynn Cook-Stanhope of Alberta’s Youth Court found T guilty in March. She was supposed to have heard sentencing arguments on July 23rd, but delayed ov

HOMOSEXUAL CIVIL UNIONS MANIPULATE CATHOLIC ADOPTION AGENCY

Image via Wikipedia BELLEVILLE, Illinois,  – A Catholic agency in Illinois severed ties with its diocese last week in order to comply with a state law forcing adoption agencies to place children with homosexual couples. The head of the former Diocese of Belleville child welfare agency, now called Christian Social Services of South Illinois , told LifeSiteNews they had “no choice” but to abide by the law after exhausting their legal options. Gary Huelsmann, executive director of the organization once known as Catholic Social Services of South Illinois, said the decision “boiled down to the Catholic Church needing to stay true to its core beliefs and the agency needing to care for all of these abused, neglected children.” “In order to be able to continue to do that with state funding we had to disassociate ourselves from the Church.  So it’s as simple as that,” he told LifeSiteNews. However, the agency’s decision to sever with the church has its prominent critics. In a column last Fr

Catholic Charities hired firm founded by gay activist, accused of support for homosexual group

Image
Image via Wikipedia As Catholic Charities agencies across the country are fighting government efforts to shut down their adoption services, the group’s national office in Washington has employed a firm founded by a homosexual activist to lobby for them on Capitol Hill, the Washington Blade , a homosexual newspaper, reported recently. A spokesman for Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) confirmed to LifeSiteNews that they hired the Sheridan Group, a lobbying firm founded by Tom Sheridan.  A self-professed “gay Catholic,” Sheridan began his lobbying career with the AIDS Action Council in the 1980s, and his firm has since represented numerous AIDS advocacy groups. At the same time, the dissident New Ways Ministry , which purports to support “LGBT” Catholics, claimed to the Blade that CCUSA and some local Catholic Charities agencies have been backing them “behind-the-scenes.” “Catholic Charities in general have been the most progressive wing of the church other than the nuns,” said Sist

Illinois to continue referring children to Catholic Charities, after gay unions flap

Image
Image via Wikipedia The state of Illinois has said it will continue referring new children for adoption and foster care to Catholic Charities in Illinois. The state backed down Monday in the face of an emergency motion, after telling media last week that they would cease the referrals over Catholic Charities’ unwillingness to allow homosexuals to adopt. Last week, a state judge had prevented the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) from ending its contract with the Catholic Charities agencies in the dioceses of Joliet , Peoria , and Springfield after they refused to place children with same-sex couples.  The Department, however, responded by simply ceasing referrals of new children to Catholic Charities, while technically leaving the contract intact by maintaining current cases. In an emergency motion Monday, Catholic Charities argued that the status quo under Judge John Schmidt ’s preliminary injunction included the continuation of new referrals.  They argued that J

Judge stops Illinois attempt to axe Catholic adoption services over gay adoption…for now

Image via Wikipedia An Illinois judge has blocked the state’s attempt to end its contracts with Catholic Charities after they refused an order to participate in same-sex adoptions and foster care placements.  The move would have affected nearly 2,000 foster children . “We’re not going to be removing children from homes,” said Judge John Schmidt of the Sangamon County Circuit Court, according to the Chicago Tribune . “I can’t be any clearer.” Judge Schmidt ruled that the state’s contracts with Catholic Charities in the dioceses of Joliet, Peoria, and Springfield, which ran out June 30th, will continue until a full hearing on August 17th. On Friday, the state’s Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) informed the agencies that the state would not accept their contracts for fiscal year 2012 because they had “made it clear” that they would not comply with the new Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act, which took effect June 1st. The bill’s promoters

Image via Wikipedia Illinois ’ remaining Catholic adoption agencies are seeking an emergency court injunction after the state ended their contracts last week over their refusal to participate in same-sex adoptions.  The state’s move would end a thirty-year-old partnership and affect 2,500 foster children . “They made a choice,” Gov. Pat Quinn, a Catholic himself, told reporters in a July 11th press conference.  “They have a law in Illinois. It’s the civil unions law. I signed it into law. We’re not going back. Any organization that decides that because of the civil unions law that they won’t participate voluntarily in a program, that’s their choice.” The Thomas More Society , acting on behalf of Catholic Charities in the dioceses of Peoria, Joliet, and Springfield, will ask a Sangamon County judge for an injunction Tuesday. The agencies had sued the state last month asking the court to declare that their policy of not recruiting unmarried couples for foster care was within the l

Illinois Catholic Charities forced out of adoptions over homosexual ‘rights’

Image
Image via Wikipedia The Catholic Diocese of Rockford , IL announced the closing of their adoption agencies last week, forced out of service due to new legislation that would oblige them to service homosexual couples. Catholic Charities of Illinois has been in business for more than 100 years, providing adoption and foster-care homes to hundreds of children.  Currently, the Diocese handles approximately 350 foster family and adoption cases in 11 counties in northern Illinois with a state budget of $7.5 million and 58 workers who will now no longer have jobs. The Diocese announced that the agency is being forced to opt out of contracting with the State of Illinois for these services because of the Illinois legislature’s failure to enact an explicit amendment to the new Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Unions Act.  The amendment failed despite the efforts of Catholic Charities directors and the lobbying efforts of the Catholic Conference of Illinois. The amendment

Homosexual adoptions is not a right

Image via Wikipedia Adoption is an ancient institution which we find in the historical records of many civilizations. On some occasions it was done to take care of orphans or abandoned children, in other cases it was a means of giving continuity to a family that lacked descendants.  Under the influence of Christianity it was accepted that the main reason to adopt a child was for the benefit of the child, when he lacked parents or his parents were unable to perform their parental duties. It is also perfectly legitimate that when a married couple judges that they can raise more children than they were given naturally, that they may adopt out of a spirit of charity and generosity to foster the good of the children. With activists campaigning for adoption rights for homosexual couples, however, it is time to consider some basic truths, and recall why it is both just and crucial that we prevent such false and destructive “rights” from being codified in the laws of our states and our na
