Homosexual marriage will not bring happiness

Image
A secular author argues the following but inadvertently identifies the failure of the whole : Marriage Equality argument. I don’t really know why anyone would want to stop anyone else from being happy , and if gay people think that getting married will make them happy, I say go for it. Sure, it’s never worked for anybody else but there’s a first time for everything. The only impediment to this seems to be that some people feel a bit weird about it, even though they’re not the ones getting married. Indeed, many of them are already married and clearly it hasn’t made them particularly happy. In other words, marriage for a man and a woman is hard work and sometimes results in separation, divorce,  and hatred with kids caught in the middle. It doesn't promise happiness or lifelong romance. It is hard work for many people with many marriage counsellors dealing with issues.  Hollywood promises happiness and bliss - marriage doesn't! Most Australians, have given u

Obama invites transgender activist who fought bathroom privacy law to White House to use his bathroom?

President Obama has invited a transgender activist who lobbied against a bathroom privacy law to attend a special White House ceremony celebrating LGBT Pride Month on Thursday. Dr. Renee McLaughlin led efforts against a   Tennessee bill   that would have responded to LGBT activism by barring members of one biological sex from using the intimate facilities of the opposite sex. “I know that will be me in harm's way,” McLaughlin, a 52-year-old post-operative transgender physician, told the Chattanooga   Times Free Press . A group of 60 major corporations opposed the legislation before Rep. Susan Lynn, R- Mt. Juliet ,   withdrew   the bill in April. "On behalf of my company, as well as myself, I'm very active in LGBT issues, particularly around increasing access to health care, and of course social justice issues as well. I've been active in a number of national organizations," McLaughlin said . President Obama mentioned the issue of transgender rest

Texas Lt. Gov. vows: We’ll give up funding before bowing to Obama’s transgender mandate

Don't mess with Texas. The state has had an independent streak since the  days when it was an independent nation in 1845, and they don't appear ready to cotton to   new federal guidelines   that all public schools must allow biological males who say they are transgender to use the girls' showers and locker rooms. In a defiant press conference, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said today the state would refuse federal funding before putting its children at risk. "We will not be blackmailed by the president's 30 pieces of silver," Lt. Gov. Patrick said. He said the policy, if adopted, “will be the end of public education.” “People will pull their kids out” of unsafe schools, he said. “ Homeschooling will explode. Private schools will increase. School choice will pass.” “I believe it is the biggest issue facing America since prayer was taken out of schools,” Lt. Gov. Patrick added. He added that, if necessary, the state of Texas will make up the r

When our reporter called this Catholic teacher fired for defending marriage, she broke down in tears

Which two words best describe the reason LifeSiteNews.com exists? I could answer that a lot of ways – unborn babies, traditional marriage , Christian worldview – but I think I'll use these two words: Patricia Jannuzzi. If you haven't heard of Patricia Jannuzzi, she's the high school theology teacher at a Catholic school who is  being persecuted  for posting a message on Facebook upholding traditional marriage. In response to a story on her news feed about vile and vicious comments made by gay activist Dan Savage , Jannuzzi said the argument in favor of redefining marriage is “bologna.” That's it. That's the whole outrage. But ever since she said “bologna,” she's been put through the grinder. Unfortunately, one of the people who saw this message – on her private Facebook account – was the nephew of actress Susan Sarandon . She got her far-Left Hollywood friends to swoop down on the town and demand the school shut her up. But here's where the

61% of Americans don’t want Supreme Court to force gay ‘marriage’ on the states: poll

Pro and anti-Proposition 8 protesters rally in front of the San Francisco City Hall as the California Supreme Court holds a session in the to determine the definition of marriage (Strauss v. Horton cases). (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) February 26, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) -- A vast majority of Americans want the government to stay out of their personal affairs when it comes to defining marriage and how they conduct their work lives or businesses, a new survey says. And a great majority also oppose the idea of the Supreme Court forcing the entire country to accept marriage redefinition. Eighty-one percent of Americans agree with the statement, “ Government should leave people free to follow their beliefs about marriage as they live their daily lives at work and in the way they run their businesses,” according to a  survey  commissioned by the Family Research Council (FRC) and the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB). The poll breakdown also showed that 80 percent of even t

Betty Crocker joins push for gay redefinition of ‘family’

Image
Famed homemaking company Betty Crocker once promoted couples making up over a cake. Now, the 90-year old company says it is adjusting to the times by promoting all relationships -- including homosexual couples and cohabitating couples -- as equal to married couples with children. The change in Betty Crocker's focus became well known in August 2013, when the company – a subsidiary of General Mills , which supports same-sex "marriage” -- released  a video  promoting same-sex couples. At the same time, it  provided cakes  to homosexual couples who "married" in Minnesota after the ceremony was allowed. Last month, Betty Crocker donated cakes to couples at the Twin Cities Pride Parade , and an employee group marched in the Parade. It also  partnered  with New America, a left-of-center think tank, to put out a survey the company says aimed "to gain a first-person point of view on what it means to be a homemaker in America today -- and how those roles and de

Relationship problems, not family rejection, leading cause of higher gay suicides: study

Image
NATHAN, Queensland, Australia , May 30, 2014  – While many assume that family rejection is the leading cause of depression among LBGTI individuals, a new study has found that in fact the problem appears to stem predominantly from the higher incidence of relationship problems among homosexuals .  Dr. Delaney Skerrett led a team of researchers from the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP) in studying suicides in Queensland. He found that a leading cause of suicide among “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex” ( LGBTI ) people is stress from their romantic partners. The study found that “LGBT individuals experienced relationship problems more often” than heterosexuals, “with relationship conflict also being more frequent than in non‐LGBT cases.” “We tend to assume that the psychological distress LGBTI people are often going through is due to family rejection. But it seems that’s not so much the case. The conflict seems to be largely re

Do pro-homosexual policies promote economic growth? In a word — No.

May 9, 2014 ( FRC ) - Activists use a number of arguments in support of the homosexual political agenda (that is, the push for things like a redefinition of marriage to include homosexual couples, or the inclusion of “ sexual orientation ” as a protected category in civil rights laws). One of the more ridiculous arguments is the claim that such measures would actually improve the economy of a state. I was in Indiana earlier this year when that state’s legislature was debating a state constitutional amendment, like those already adopted in thirty other states, to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Homosexual activists (and their fellow travelers in some large corporations)  asserted  that preserving the existing definition of marriage would make it hard to recruit employees. (Legislators ended up trying to have it both ways — passing an amendment but watering it down in a way that prevented it from going to voters for approval this year.) Then just last week,
