Christian mom defends ex-gays, explains why LGBT movement despises them

Image
Elizabeth Johnston, better known as the “ Activist Mommy ,” came to Washington, DC to address what she calls, “one of the most marginalized and censored groups in our culture:  The ex- homosexual .” Johnson spoke to a crowd of about 80 mostly former homosexual and transexual millenials who had come to the Nation’s Capital last weekend for the first annual “Freedom March,” the brainchild of  Jeffrey McCall, a young man who had once lived as a woman .   “I am pro-choice,” announced Johnson, co-opting one of the sacred mantras of the sexual revolution, and turning it on its head.  “I believe people who choose to engage in homosexual sin also have the right to choose not to engage in homosexuality.  And they have the choice to seek therapy for their unnatural and unwanted desires.” “I am tolerant,” she added.  “I want homosexuals to have the freedom to speak their mind and beliefs.  And I believe those who believe homosexuality is a sin against God also have the right––under God

Homosexuals attack ex-gay

Image
Homosexuals attack ex-gay Simultaneously, a church program to help those with unwanted same-sex attractions was cruelly condemned, regardless of the needs of men and women desperate to leave the dangerous lifestyle. The Perth City Church of Christ hosted James Parker, an ex- gay man who converted to Christ and is now the head of a family. The husband and father openly admitted his previous promiscuous lifestyle and offered concrete hope to entrapped homosexuals that there is a way out. Parker said he was abused by many teachers in his home country of England as well as an older male. He developed an addiction to pornography and alcohol. He declared himself “gay” at age 17 and bedded over 200 men while attending a London university. At one point, he nearly considered himself transgender. But then  Parker  “experienced a profound spiritual awakening” and “discovered in a deep way the forgiveness, love and mercy of Jesus Christ .” The way out for Parker, he said, was

If gays are so tolerant, why are they disrupting an Ex-‘gay’ conference?

Image
Anyone who’s been in the pro-life and pro-family movement for any length of time is familiar with the Left’s hypocritical, one-way approach toward “Diversity” and “Inclusion.” It’s all about tolerance and diversity for THEM but not for their critics. Such “reverse intolerance” is on display again this weekend in San Diego, with as many as 1,000 pro- LGBTQ protesters expected to converge on a Christian ex-“gay” conference designed to help and uplift men and woman seeking to overcome unwanted same-sex attraction . The stated goal of at least some of the protesters is to disrupt the  Restored Hope Network  (RHN) conference, representing the largest coalition of ex-homosexual ministries in the world. (A previous ex-gay umbrella group, Exodus International ,  collapsed  after its leaders moved away from the Bible’s teachings against homosexual behavior.)  In a  press release , RHN says that it “has been on the frontlines of helping people overcome homosexuality.” It now comprise

Joseph Nicolosi helped thousands coping with unwanted homosexual desires

Image
Dr. Joseph Nicolosi , a psychologist and a pioneer of “ reparative therapy ” to help people overcome unwanted same-sex attractions , died March 9 at age 70 from complications resulting from the flu. Nicolosi, a devout Catholic and the co-founder of  NARTH  (now the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice), leaves behind wife Linda and their son, Joe Jr. People from all over the world have  written memorial tributes  to him, with some thanking him for helping them overcome sexual identification problems or to understand the nature of homosexuality. A family funeral services for Nicolosi will be held Wednesday. In a field fraught with ambiguous terminology (e.g., “ sexual orientation ”), escalating — even  fanatical  — LGBT opposition, media cynicism and  misreporting , Nicolosi persevered. His  counter-cultural message  of “If gay doesn’t define you, you don’t have to be gay,” was outrageous and “hateful” to intolerant  homosexual militants , but it brought hope to people of faith

Same-Sex Marriage Supreme Court Decision

Image
As a Christian how are we to think about this? To be honest, this decision did not surprise me, but I was disappointed. I had held out some hope that the constitution and not the winds of public opinion would win the day. But that was not to be. 3 Quick Observations About The Same-Sex Marriage Supreme Court Decision 1) The world has not ended, but make no mistake this will have significant cultural impact. There are 2 sides of this balance beam we can’t afford to fall off of. First, we need to remember that Christianity is still true, regardless of what is going on in a particular cultural moment. Our hope is fixed in Christ , not a cultural majority. We have an opportunity to love and engage. Let’s not miss that. The other way not to react to this news is to say it won’t effect me and my marriage and everything will continue on as it has. That is not true. And that will become more painfully evident in the days ahead–especially for children. 2) Whatever your views on same-s

UN agency includes ten year old boys in definition of gay behavior

Image
The UN family planning agency ( UNFPA ) drifted further into controversial territory with a new report on HIV and sexually transmitted infections among men who have sex with men – and boys. UNFPA’s  report  implies that promiscuity and dangerous sexual practices are a pervasive part of the male homosexual experience, a charge that the Southern Poverty Law Center would label as “hate” if it came from a conservative Christian group. At the same time, the report ignores the fact that having multiple sexual partners, especially multiple concurrent partners, greatly raises the risk of infection. The advice it offers for changing sexual behavior is limited to using condoms and lubricants. UNFPA begins with a definition of MSM as “men who have sex with men,” and “should be understood to include young men, i.e. those in the age range 10–24 years.” While MSM is generally considered to be a behavior rather than an identity, UNFPA includes those “who experience sexual attraction towar

Richard Di Natale - his love for homosexual sin and hatred for those opposed!

Senator Bob Brown and Richard Di Natale in Melbourne,   Wikipedia ) HATEFUL. Clap-trap. Intolerant. Demonised. Offensive. From the Dark Ages . These are some of the insults hurled around by panellists during a fiery debate on same-sex marriage on Q&A ABC Australia. Pure abuse with no logical reasonable argument put forward. JUst shut down and shout down any person who would even question ...homosexuality. The verbal sparring began when traditional marriage advocate Katy Faust  spoke clearly and with scientific proof of her reasons for opposing changing Australia’s Marriage Act to allow same-sex couples to tie the knot. Faust, a US campaigner who was raised in a same-sex household, kicked off the debate when she claimed there had not been enough debate in the US about the harmful effects of children being raised by same-sex parents . Labor’s Sam Daystari immediately jumped on her comments and accused Faust, who runs a blog and Twitter account called @askthebigot, of having a

Six North Carolina judges quit after gay ‘marriage’ legalized

Seal of Gaston County, North Carolina (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) In the wake of a federal court decision legalizing same-sex “marriage” in North Carolina , at least six judges in the state have resigned rather than be forced to officiate such unions. All stepped down, since October 10, because they believe marriage is a union between one man and one woman. They are: John Kallam Jr. ( Rockingham County ), Gilbert Breedlove ( Swain County ), Bill Stevenson ( Gaston County ), Tommy Holland (Graham County), Gayle Myrick (Union County) and Jeff Powell (Jackson County). The decision wasn’t easy for Stevenson, whose family depends on his $50,000 per year salary as their primary income. "I prayed about it; I asked for wisdom," Stevenson told the Christian Examiner. "I think our hearts have been led away by the cares of the world, our desires, and ultimately, our intense arrogance – our hubris – against the Lord.” "We've rejected the prime authority of

Did Gay activists push Apple CEO?

Image
Brendan Eich speaking on "browser wars: déjà vu all over again?" (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Accolades are flowing today for Apple boss Timothy Cook, who publicly announced that he is gay in a brief  essay  in Bloomberg BusinessWeek . On Twitter, Bill Clinton , Mark Zuckerberg and Richard Branson lead a Mexican wave of admiration. If President Obama and the  New York Times  editorial board haven’t yet said their piece they soon will. The delight in gay rights ranks is understandable. Cook is not only one of the first major business leaders globally to make their sexual orientation so public; the company he leads is the biggest, wealthiest and culturally coolest corporation on the planet. The effect of his move on young people is expected to be huge. But what about the effect on other corporate leaders and public figures? Will they feel pressured, will they be forced to declare their stance on gay rights, and find their career in tatters if it turns out to be the w
