Queen unhappily signs gay ‘marriage’ law

Image
Queen Elizabeth II has today given Royal Assent to the coalition government’s bill creating gay “marriage,” after the House of Commons   approved minor amendments on Tuesday . The law will come into effect mid-2014. All three of the main parties in Parliament supported the bill, though there was significant opposition within the ruling Conservative party .  Colin Hart, director of the Campaign for Marriage said that Prime Minister David Cameron , leader of the Tory party, “needs to remember that the Coalition for Marriage has nearly 700,000 supporters, nearly six times the number of members of the Conservative Party”.  These, he said, are “just ordinary men and women, not part of the ruling elite. They are passionate, motivated and determined to fight on against a law that renders terms like husband and wife meaningless and threatens one of the foundations of the institution of marriage: fidelity and faithfulness.”  Throughout the process, opponents of the legislation sai

Traditional marriage advocates could be prosecuted in Scotland, legal experts warn

Image
Despite all government insistence to the contrary, those who publicly object to gay “marriage” in Scotland could be facing lawsuits or even prosecutions, a group of legal experts has warned. The  Faculty of Advocates  has cautioned the Scottish government that their plans to redefine marriage will result in serious threats to freedom of expression. Combined with the 2010 Equality Act, the draft law will create “conflict” between those who in conscience disagree with the concept of same-sex “marriage” and “public authorities,” who will be “required to promote same-sex marriage,” the Faculty said  in their submission  on the bill’s public consultation. Freedom of speech to object to redefining marriage would be offered only to religious ministers under the bill, but the Faculty of Advocates have pointed out that this is a right that belongs to all citizens. Police used systematic violent force against French traditional marriage demonstrators: report

Image
A report  will be presented today at a hearing at the Council of Europe detailing systematic use of excessive and violent police actions by France’s socialist government to suppress opposition to the same-sex “marriage” law. (Read the report  here  - PDF) The report on the French “Manif pour Tous and its police repression” will be presented in conjunction with today’s session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and will be presented to the United Nations in Geneva . Reports of police violence, including arbitrary arrest and pepper spraying, were rife during the demonstrations against the new gay "marriage" law. The hearing was organized by the European People’s Party and the Strasbourg-based European Centre for Law and Justice , in the presence of Luca Volontè, President of the EPP Group . The report contains numerous testimonies of victims of police brutality in the course of several mass demonstrations against “gay marriage.” Since late 20

Homosexual marriage agenda targets Christian freedom

Image
Three British Christians who argued that their beliefs saw them wrongly disciplined by their employers for actions such as refusing to counsel same-sex couples have lost their legal battle at the European court of human rights . Shirley Chaplin, Gary McFarlane and Lillian Ladele   had their appeals to the Strasbourg court rejected in January  as part of the same ruling as that in which Nadia Eweida , a British Airways check-in attendant, won her fight against being banned from wearing a cross at work. The three sought to resolve the matter in the court's grand chamber, its final arbiter. However,  judges at the court have rejected the request , in effect ending the legal battle. The success for Eweida, who was awarded €2,000 (£1,600) in compensation after a seven-year struggle with the airline – a decision welcomed by David Cameron among others – partly overshadowed the contrasting judgment in the cases of Chaplin, McFarlane and Ladele. LGBT uses false science over homosexuality

Image
Last week  we reported  about a hopelessly un-scientific  “LGBT Survey”  published and promoted by the EU ’s Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) as part of a larger effort to push its absurd “ anti-discrimination ” agenda, in particular a directive that would eliminate important civil freedoms such as the freedom of conscience and the freedom of contract. According to the survey, 48 percent of homosexuals are afraid of exhibiting their sexual proclivities in public. Potential future adoptive parents This has  angered several political figureheads of the homosexual agenda . However,  when asked to provide a substantial argument  why the FRA Survey (which cost the European taxpayer 370.000 Euro, i.e. roughly $5 U.S. for each of the replies received) was not “bogus,” they remained conspicuously silent. Are they still searching for arguments, or are they aware that they have none? The  leading Austrian newspaper  Die Presse  commented : For this survey, the FRA has follow

Moscow defies EU, prohibits immoral homosexual sin pride march out of 'respect for morality'

Image
MOSCOW, May 17, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The Moscow city government has rejected an application for a homosexual march permit for the eighth year in a row, citing the need for “respect for morality” and patriotism, according to Russian media sources. “According to Russian law , we must work clearly and consistently on maintaining morality, directed to the teaching of patriotism to the growing generation, and not toward unclear aspirations, not to mention taking the city’s central squares and streets for this,” said Aleksei Mayorov, head of Regional Security for the city of Moscow, according to Interfax Not marching this year. If homosexual activists defy the law and attempt to march as they have in previous years, Mayorov warned that “a certain reaction will follow and the action will be thwarted,” according to RIA Novosti . “In our opinion there is no desire for such events in the city.” Mayorov’s statements are reflective of public sentiment in Russia , where 87 per

Amnesty International seeks to force Homosexual Marriage

Image
Amnesty International and a Northern Irish homosexualist campaign group, Rainbow Project , have announced plans to collaborate in an effort to create legalised gay “marriage” in the province through the courts. The two groups have vowed to bring a human rights legal action against the Northern Ireland government “on the basis of inferior treatment of same sex couples in Northern Ireland with regards to the right to marry and found a family.” As with the 1967 Abortion Act , Northern Ireland would be exempt from Westminster’s same-sex “marriage” bill that was passed in the House of Commons in February but is still in committee in the House of Lords . Patrick Corrigan, program director for Amnesty in Northern Ireland, told the Guardian newspaper that a lawsuit is “inevitable” because international law is “clear” that individual territories must provide marriage if the rest of the country does. So far, Sinn Féin, the Social Democratic and Labour Party , the Alliance and Gr
