Students interested in becoming residential advisers at Ohio State University should be forced to undergo training geared toward LGBT “inclusion,” according to a resolution passed last week by the student government. The body of undergraduate student leaders voted November 29 to recommend that all RAs be required to submit to “Safe Zone” training before interacting with students on their floors, student newspaper  The Lantern   reports . Members of a California high school football team are rallying to vouch for their former coach, who has been sacked for his coaching position after an outburst deemed “insensitive to the LGBTQ community.” San Luis Coastal Unified School District removed Morro Bay High School head varsity football coach David Kelley on Tuesday, The Tribune reports , following what Principal Kyle Pruitt called an “unfortunate, and unacceptable verbal interaction that was insensitive to the LGBTQ community between a coach/teacher and a student-athlete on our campus.” On October 24, Kelley got mad at a player who was procrastinating in a locker room and told him to “stop looking at me like a homosexual and get the [expletive] to practice,” according to senior varsity player Rocky Brebes. The student added it was the only instance he had ever witnessed Kelley using “homosexual” as a pejorative. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms ( JCCF.ca ) today released recent correspondence ( 1 ,  2 ,  3 ) between Alberta Education and independent faith-based schools. In September of 2018, Deputy Minister Curtis Clark  threatened  religious schools with defunding and loss of accreditation if they do not remove religious content from their "Safe and Caring" school policies. During the week of October 1-5, several schools whose Safe and Caring policies had been deemed non-compliant by the Alberta Education "Safe and Caring Team" requested clarification ( 1 ,  2 ,  3 ) as to how the religious views expressed in their policies could be found to violate "diversity" or be "unwelcoming, uncaring and/or disrespectful" . LGBT activists are nothing if not creative. Their latest approach involves inviting high school students into, in their words, a "big, gay booth" to talk about sex. In a recent post on the blog of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the "Beyond Bullying Project" bragged about the success of its latest efforts going into Bay Area public high schools to entice students into private booths to talk about LGBT sexuality. "Our pitch to would-be storytellers was open-ended," said the project organizers. "Tell a story about yourself, a friend, your family...the story does not even need to be true." The project "collects" the stories on audio and videotape, and claims to have spent time in schools in North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Apparently, participating schools welcome the rainbow-festooned booths, even directing their shop classes to build the "curricular, emotional space" for "queerness." Schools also

Justice-minded teachers and parents cheered at the recent Janus U.S. Supreme Court decision , knowing that it will likely end compulsory union fees charged by the National Education Association. The powerful far-left NEA is likely to lose at least 10% or more of its members as teachers no longer have to fork over fees to the union to get a job, and thereby financially support Democratic Party candidates as well as anti-life and anti-family issues. Public schools in Illinois may be forced to single out homosexual historical figures for special praise, if legislation that has already passed one legislative chamber ultimately prevails. Earlier this month, the state Senate passed SB 3249 by a 34-18 vote. It requires history courses in public schools to “include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State,” and to adopt “non-discriminatory” textbooks that “include the roles and contributions of all people protected, under the Illinois Human Rights Act,” including LGBT figures. The legislation, which would take effect in July 2019 if enacted, would allow local school districts to set the details of these additions and decide when to implement them, but makes no reference to whether parents will be allowed to opt their children out of the lessons. A government-funded pre-apprenticeship academy in Bristol reported a Christian teacher as a “radicalisation threat” for answering students ’ questions about her beliefs , Bristol Employment Tribunal has heard. Svetlana Powell, a teacher of some 17 years’ experience, told the Tribunal that she was dismissed by the T2 Apprenticeship Academy in Bristol in July 2016 after being asked by students about her views on homosexuality.  In reply to a personal question, Mrs Powell said that her personal belief was that homosexuality was against God ’s will, but that He loved every person, regardless of what they did, or who they were. When told that one of the students identified as a lesbian, Mrs Powell in conviction of God’s care and love for every person, turned to her and said: “God loves you”.
