So does speculation that the spectacular run of  Duck Dynasty  may be done after the Robertson family's statement last night (see below) that "we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm." Petitions calling for Robertson's reinstatement include two sizable Facebook groups : " Stand with Phil Robertson " has gathered more than 1.3 million supporters by late Friday morning, while " Bring Back Phil Robertson " has gathered more than 909,000 supporters. The largest  Change.org petition  (out of  many ) has gathered more than 103,000 supporters. Smaller efforts include petitions by the National Organization for Marriage Education (more than  300,000 signatures ) and Faith Driven Consumers (more than 118,000 signatures ). During the height of the Cold War , the watchword was vigilance. Civil Defense was everyone's responsibility, and the key was to  remain vigilant . The specter of nuclear war haunted every facet of life. In schools and workplaces nationwide, drills were held to practice for the event everyone hoped would never happen. Sirens would go off, and children and businessmen alike would crawl under their desks and assume the posture they were told would protect them: duck and cover . A&E television network which has raked in millions of fans for the  Duck Dynasty  reality show starring the Robertson clan suspended Robertson in response to a  GQ  interview where he expressed a Biblical view opposed to homosexuality. “We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right,” the message reads. “We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.
