Gay Aussie couple sue printer for sending religious pamphlets instead of wedding programs

Image
Australian homosexual couple  were excited to see the homosexual wedding programs they ordered for their immoral  gay wedding . But when the package arrived, the gay couple also found Christian pamphlets with messages about homosexual temptation and gay sin.  The immoral sinful unbalanced homosexual couple are so upset that a Christian would insert biblical truth into the box that they are taking a federal lawsuit against printing company Vistaprint - to teach people a lesson! The lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday in Massachusetts , accuses Vistaprint of attacking, abusing, vilifying the couple because they're gay by replacing their wedding program order with the biblical truth about homosexuality - which they conveniently call - "hateful and discriminatory."   WHY ARE HOMOSEXUALS EASILY HURT AND OFFENDED AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS? The two homosexual men have a unrighteous immoral agenda.  "Their goal is to hold Vistaprint accountable for the harm

The Ashers “Gay Cake” appeal- one of these things is not like the others

Image
When our children were watching Sesame Street one of the regular clips featured the song “ one of these things is not like the others “, training children to look carefully and make distinctions where things are different. In a case involving Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street, the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal has shown that it is not very good at making distinctions between things that are different. The case is Lee v McArthur, McArthur & Ashers Baking Co Ltd [2016] NICA (24 October 2016). (Thanks to the always helpful Law and Religion UK blog for the link to the official report. There is an “official summary” available here which is a bit shorter.) In the decision the Court of Appeal equates the decision of Christian bakers not to supply a cake, the sole purpose of which was to bear a message which they disagreed with on religious grounds, with a decision of a business to discriminate against persons on the grounds of their sexual orientation. In my view they have

Homosexuality and Religious groups and employment of staff

Religious groups and employment of staff Can a Christian secondary school require that its teachers not openly advocate a sexual lifestyle that is contrary to the Bible’s teaching? Can an Orthodox Jewish preschool ask its teachers to live in accordance with Orthodox moral principles? Can a Protestant church refuse to hire someone to act on its behalf in political advocacy when that person does not share their religious beliefs? These are all issues that have come up in recent months. Two of them are dealt with in decisions in connection with judicial proceedings, one in the UK and one from the European Court of Justice . One has been raised by media reports in Australia . In this post I want to flag these three cases briefly and to comment on the issues they raise for religious freedom, and how they should be resolved.  Religious freedom and groups It is worth, however, setting out a few general principles to start with. When the language of “ human rights ” is invoke

Ireland: All Religious Freedom gone - Homosexual must be employed in Faith Schools, charities and hospitals

Church Schools and Church hospitals, Charities, adoption agencies, Bible Colleges, church institutions, churches- will not be able to discriminate over sexuality, Minister says. A planned change to equality gay law will “raise the bar” so high that Church schools and Church hospitals will not be allowed to discriminate against staff or job applicants because they are homosexual, Minister of State for Equality Aodhán Ó Ríordáin has said. The Government is working on an amendment to the Employment Equality Act, which allows religious-run schools and hospitals to discriminate in order to maintain their ethos. Homosexual groups say the law has an effect on homosexual and lesbian teachers, who feel their sexuality could hinder employment or promotion prospects. Mr Ó Ríordáin said he believed an attempt to repeal section 37.1 of the Act, which gives religious-run workplaces an exemption to discrimination law if an individual undermines their ethos, could be unconstitutional . Court affirms Christian’s right to refuse in good faith to make ‘LGBT Pride’ shirts

The Kentucky Court of Appeals on Friday upheld a previous court victory for a Christian who in 2012 declined to make a t-shirt for the Lexington homosexual “Pride Festival,” saying to do so would violate his faith. Blaine Adamson's Lexington-based company, Hands On Originals Christian Outfitters, offers "high quality, customized Christian apparel," according to its  website . “The right of free speech does not guarantee to any person the right to use someone else’s property,” wrote Appeals Court Chief  Judge Joy Kramer .  “The ‘conduct’ Hands On Originals chose not to promote was pure speech. … Nothing in the fairness ordinance prohibits Hands On Originals, a private business, from engaging in viewpoint or message censorship.” In 2014, Adamson was found to be in violation of Lexington’s pro- LGBT “non-discrimination” ordinance by the city’s Human Rights Commission after politely turning down the “Lexington Pride Festival” design requested by the Gay and
