The Obama Administration’s ongoing celebration of homosexual “ Pride Month ” has seemingly carried over into its ambassadorial nominations. On monday, the president announced the nomination of Daniel Baer as ambassador to the Vienna-based Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).  If confirmed, Baer would be the first open homosexual to serve as ambassador to a multilateral institution. Next on the list is HBO executive James Costos, who together with his boyfriend, decorator Michael Smith, fundraised over $1 million for President Obama’s re-election.  He is expected to be named ambassador to Spain as early as this week.  After that, at least three more homosexuals are slated to be announced as ambassadorial picks, including former Office of Personnel Management director John Berry (Australia), former Democratic National Committee finance chairman and Obama fundraising director Rufus Gifford (Denmark), and hedge fund manager James “Wally” Brewster, a

Now Rupert Everett finds himself in a somewhat less enviable position. The 53-year-old actor has been rounded on by gay rights groups after saying: "I can’t think of anything worse that being brought up by two gay dads." Everett’s comments are likely to offend celebrity parents such as Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish . The couple have a 21-month-old son Zachary, born to a surrogate mother. Image via Wikipedia As if the Church of England does not have enough troubles, word is leaking out of Lambeth Palace that the church is about to allow the appointment of openly gay bishops, so long as those bishops remain celibate. The news has emerged in the form of a leaked internal memorandum prepared for the Archbishop of Canterbury by the church’s highest legal adviser.  The legal guidelines are intended to bring the church into compliance with Britain’s Equality Act of 2010, even as the church is considering new criteria for the appointment of bishops.  That law prohibits discrimination on the basis of several characteristics, including sexual orientation .  The Equality Act has already been used to force some British churches to hire youth ministers and other workers who are openly homosexual . The application, designed to help Catholics prepare for the sacrament of confession, includes among its questions: “Have I been guilty of any homosexual activity?” Wayne Besen, executive director of Truth Wins Out , said the mention of homosexual sin would “create neurotic individuals who are ashamed of who they are.” “This is cyber spiritual abuse that promotes backward ideas in a modern package,” he said. “Gay Catholics don’t need to confess, they need to come out of the closet and challenge anti-gay dogma. The false idea that being gay is something to be ashamed of has destroyed too many lives. This iPhone app is facilitating and furthering the harm.”
