Same-sex ‘marriage’ begins in Florida because one judge said so

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Florida became the 36 th  state to legalize same-sex “marriage” Tuesday, after an injunction blocking enforcement of U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle ’s ruling that the state’s marriage protection law unconstitutional expired without intervention from a higher court. Most counties in Florida proceeded as if the issue had been decided, but state officials are still pursuing appeals with the 11 th  Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court .  While the 11 th  Circuit is unlikely to overturn Hinkle’s decision, the entire nation awaits a possible decision from the Supreme Court, which has so far refrained from directly ruling on the constitutionality of laws that define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Meanwhile, officials in at least three counties refused to participate in same-sex “wedding” ceremonies Tuesday, including in Duval County , where Court Clerk Ronnie Fussell closed down the courthouse chapel ent

Former Navy chaplain faced death threats from gay activists during successful run for Colorado assembly

A former military chaplain who was discharged for publicly praying in uniform has won election to the Colorado General Assembly , despite several alleged death threats from homosexual activists. Gordon Klingenschmitt, Ph.D., was elected on Tuesday with 70 percent of the vote. However, the victory was marred by  three death threats  the controversial opponent of same-sex "marriage" says were received in the last two months.   According to Klingenschmitt, the threats came in September and October, after he publicly called for religious liberty for Christian business owners when it came to same-sex "marriage" ceremonies. One of the two emails received by the then-candidate referenced shooting Christians in the head, while a voice message told Klingenschmitt that the caller "will slit your [expletive expletive] throat." In his report to the FBI , the former Navy chaplain said that he wanted to press charges if the people making the threats could b

32 states ask the Supreme Court to weigh in on same-sex ‘marriage’ bans

(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) America’s so-called “ red states ” and “blue states” may have very different views about whether same-sex “marriage” should be legal, but there’s one thing a majority have agreed upon: The Supreme Court needs to make a ruling on the issue, and soon. Citing the “morass” brought about by dozens of conflicting court decisions at both the state and federal level regarding the legality of marriage protection laws – which define marriage as a union between one man and one woman – seventeen states with such laws have signed on to a court filing asking the Supreme Court to review two federal circuit court rulings overturning  Oklahoma’s  and  Utah’s  bans on same-sex “marriage.” Colorado , which is currently fighting its own battle with the 10 th  Circuit to save its marriage protection law, led the

‘Legal anarchy’: County clerks flout Colorado marriage law, give licenses to gay couples

Image
Colorado 's high-tension marriage debate hit a new peak this week, as three county clerks and a county judge ignored state law defining marriage as between a man and a woman. On Wednesday, Boulder District Judge Andrew Hartman  ruled  that Boulder Colorado Clerk Hillary Hall could continue to give marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Hall has been giving out licenses to same-sex couples  since June 25 . The Denver and Pueblo County Clerks joined Hall in handing out the marriage licenses after Hartman's ruling. County clerk Hillary Hall has been giving out licenses to same-sex couples since June 25, and refuses to stop. Youtube screenshot Hall began handing out the licenses after the 10th Circuit Court ruled that a state marriage amendment in nearby Utah was unconstitutional. However, that ruling was given a stay by the same court. Utah has already appealed the decision, and the case is expected to be heard by either the full 10th Circuit Court or the U.S. Supreme C

Obama ‘fist-bumps’ gay cashier over sex joke

Image
President Obama seems to have been in a jovial mood during his  bizarre  fundraising tour of Texas and Colorado last week. While persistently ignoring the pleas of legislators from his own party to make a side trip to the Mexican border to address the humanitarian crisis as  thousands of abandoned children  make their way into the United States , the leader of the free world found time to  play a game of pool ,  laughingly decline a marijuana joint  offered to him in Colorado (where the drug was recently legalized), and  cut in line  to drop $300 on barbecue at an Austin restaurant. But perhaps most baffling was his reaction to the cross-dressing cashier at the barbecue joint, who – while not dressed in drag during their encounter – decided to use his thirty seconds of interaction with the president to promote the gay agenda. “Equal rights for gay people!" shouted Daniel Rugg Webb, a stand-up comedian, musician, and part-time employee at Franklin Barbecue, slamming hi

Christian baker must make ‘wedding’ bakes for gay couples, court rules

Image
DENVER, CO ,  – A Colorado board has ruled that a Christian business owner must make wedding cakes for homosexual "marriages" despite his religious objections. Business owner Jack Phillips came under legal fire in 2012, when he refused to bake a cake for Dave Mullins and Charlie Craig , who had traveled to Massachusetts for a marriage license, and wanted to celebrate in their home state. They sued on the basis of a state law that prevents the application of religious beliefs if one owns a business. The Commission's ruling, which was issued verbally on Friday, orders Phillips to report every three months for the next two years on anti-discrimination training for his staff, and any customers who are refused service at his establishment. "I can believe anything I want, but if I'm going to do business here, I'd ought to not discriminate against people," said one of the Civil Rights Commission 's seven members in a public statement. Do pro-homosexual policies promote economic growth? In a word — No.

May 9, 2014 ( FRC ) - Activists use a number of arguments in support of the homosexual political agenda (that is, the push for things like a redefinition of marriage to include homosexual couples, or the inclusion of “ sexual orientation ” as a protected category in civil rights laws). One of the more ridiculous arguments is the claim that such measures would actually improve the economy of a state. I was in Indiana earlier this year when that state’s legislature was debating a state constitutional amendment, like those already adopted in thirty other states, to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Homosexual activists (and their fellow travelers in some large corporations)  asserted  that preserving the existing definition of marriage would make it hard to recruit employees. (Legislators ended up trying to have it both ways — passing an amendment but watering it down in a way that prevented it from going to voters for approval this year.) Then just last week,
