Actress Ellen Page swears and attacks Chris Pratt for ties to ‘anti-LGBTQ’ Bible believing church

Image
Lesbian actress and left-wing activist Ellen Page accused actor Chris Pratt of belonging to a church that “hates a certain group of people” over the weekend, despite the Guardians of the Galaxy star’s Bible-believing church being largely silent on homosexuality. Last week, Pratt appeared on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, where he discussed attempting the Daniel Fast , named after the prophet Daniel and consisting of 21 days of prayer, drinking only water, and eating only fruits, vegetables, and grains. “I was inspired by my pastor to do it. It’s kind of like our Lent, you know, you give something up,” he said. “So, for 21 days I had no meat, no sugar, no alcohol, and it was actually amazing. It was really cool.” Page, who starred in the life-affirming 2007 film Juno as well as Inception and two of the X-Men films, subsequently took to Twitter to slam Pratt for not addressing that “his church is infamously anti lgbtq” and “belong(ing) to an organization that hates a certain group of pe

Evangelical groups back ‘sinful compromise’ on homosexual discrimination, religious liberty

Image
Two prominent evangelical organizations have formally endorsed federal legislation that would ostensibly protect homosexual Americans from discrimination without infringing on religious exercise, but social conservative leaders warn that the stated principles could still be exploited by pro-LGBT activists. The boards of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) have passed motions endorsing the addition of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) language to federal nondiscrimination law, WORLD reported . In October, the NAE Executive Council unanimously passed a motion that affirms “God created human beings in his image as male or female and that sexual relations be reserved for the marriage of one man and one woman” and endorses “First Amendment guarantees that protect free religious exercise,” while at the same time declaring, “No one should face violence, harassment, or unjust discrimination on the basis of

Peter Kreeft on the simultaneous rise of homosexuality and Islam

Image
Why the simultaneous rise of homosexuality and Islam?  An interview with Peter Kreeft In a recent interview, Boston College professor Peter Kreeft noted key similarities in the homosexual activist movement and radical Islam which have led to their ascendancy in recent times.  Asked about the simultaneous rise of militant Islam and the homosexual activist movement despite their opposing ideologies, Kreeft replied:   “They’re the only two movements in Western civilization that will fight and die for their beliefs.  It is an amazing paradox that they’re opposites in almost every way, and yet they’re similar in that they will still fight. Christians are supposed to fight too, the notion of spiritual warfare, the true meaning of jihad – a war against sin rather than flesh and blood. This is central to Christianity and we’ve lost it, and therefore opposite forces are entering the vacuum.” Kreeft explained that as the Christian faith has weakened in the West, it has caused a v

‘I won’t let drag queens come in here’: Pastor asks man dressed as ‘woman’ to leave church

Image
A pastor asked a young male who showed up for a religious service in drag to go home and put on “man clothes.”   “I hold a standard in here,” Chicago Pastor Antonio Rocquemore said to the man dressed in women’s clothing. “Whatever you do on the outside is your business, but I would not let drag queens come in here.”   “When you come into this house, if you’re a man, dress as a man; if you’re a woman, dress as a woman,” added the pastor.   As Rocquemore continued to explain his request to the man, using the incident as a teachable moment, shouts of “amen” and applause from the congregation grew to a crescendo. “I’m not going to allow you to disrespect the House of God,” declared Pastor Rocquemore. The brief drama which took place at Powerhouse International Ministries was captured in a cell phone video and posted along with a profanity-laden paragraph on Facebook by Christian James Lhuillier. Since it was first uploaded four days ago, the  video  has been viewed nearly a h

Pittsburgh wants to revoke Chick-fil-A’s sponsorship of kids event over Christian marriage views

Image
America’s most successful Christian food chain may be driven out of a children’s community event in Pittsburgh over the owners’ Christian-based view of marriage and homosexuality if the Pittsburgh City Council has its way. The Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon is a one-mile run slated for May 2019. The event is for children and their families participating in the annual DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. It’s affiliated with the Kids of STEEL physical activity and nutrition program. All nine members of the Pittsburgh City Council have a problem with Chick-fil-A’s sponsorship of the event, however, and have signed a letter pressuring marathon organizers to drop the company, The Blaze reports . “The leadership of Chick-Fil-A has openly and passionately promulgated hateful beliefs against the LGBTQIA+ community,” the letter reads . “Additionally, the company has financed organizations staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage and non-discrimination laws and other groups that eq

Christian college restores ban on homosexual relationships after backlash

Image
Azusa Pacific University (APU), an evangelical Christian school in California, has reinstated official language prohibiting homosexual relationships on campus following the backlash. Last week, the school had removed language from its Student Standards of Conduct singling out homosexual relationships as an example of prohibited conduct. The school continued to forbid “sexual intimacy outside the context of” the marriage “covenant between a man and a woman,” but officials accepted LGBT activists’ argument that the overt reference to homosexuality “stigmatized” homosexual students and “falsely assumed that same-sex romances always involved sexual behavior.” On September 28, the APU Board of Trustees released a  statement  announcing that it had not approved the revised language and the “original wording has been reinstated.” Student newspaper  Zu Media   clarifies  that the previous change had been approved by the administrative board, but not the trustees. “We affirm God’s per

Boston sued for refusing to fly Christian flag at city hall despite flying LGBT flag

Image
A 59-year-old Boston man is challenging the city’s refusal to fly a Christian flag over city hall to recognize Christianity’s historical contributions to both Boston and the state of Massachusetts, the Boston Globe reports . Camp Constitution is a charitable trust dedicated to promoting “understanding of our Judeo-Christian moral heritage, our American heritage of courage and ingenuity, including the genius of our United States Constitution, and the application of free enterprise” through a variety of discussions, activities, and events. Last year its director, Harold Shurtleff, wanted to fly a Christian flag with a red cross on a blue background, with white on three sides, at the city hall to commemorate “the civic and social contributions of the Christian community to the City, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, religious tolerance, the Rule of Law, and the US Constitution.” But the city denied him a permit on the grounds that it “maintains a policy and practice of respectfull

Lesbian couple sues Christian retirement community for denying housing application

Image
A “married” lesbian couple is taking a Christian retirement community to court over its requirement that prospective residents abide by Christian moral principles. Friendship Village is a non-profit retirement community “guided by Biblical values” that holds “Faithful Service” as one of its core values, according to its website. Despite the Bible’s unambiguous teachings on homosexuality, Mary Walsh and Bev Nance of Shrewsbury applied in 2016 to move to Friendship Village, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports . Walsh and Nance have been together for 37 years and got “married” in Massachusetts in 2009. After they paid a $2,000 deposit and got placed on a waiting list, they say Friendship Village rejected their application on the grounds that it would violate the community’s “longstanding” policy that only allows cohabitation among parent-child relationships, siblings, or marriages of one man and one woman. So Walsh and Nance have filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Eastern

Christian university drops morality pledge after top court said it violated LGBT ‘rights’

Image
After fighting for years in court to get a law school going while maintaining its "community covenant" whereby students pledge to uphold Christian sexual ethics, Trinity Western University now says it will no longer ask students to make that pledge. "The community covenant will no longer be mandatory as of the 2018-19 academic year with respect to the admission of students to, or continuation of students at, the university," reads  a motion passed by the board of governors of the Christian university i n Langley, British Columbia. The private Christian college formerly required students to sign a commitment to refrain from, among other things, any sexual activity “that violates the sacredness of marriage between a man and a woman.” The community covenant will still be binding on all Trinity Western University staff and professors.  It's a move that's baffling Christians in Canada, leaving many saddened. "Trinity Western University has drop

Religion is being weaponized against gays, claims homosexual ‘marriage’ icon

Jim Obergefell, the man whose name will be forever associated with the institution of genderless marriage in the United States, said he “was heartbroken and devastated,” by the  Supreme Court’s Masterpiece Cakeshop decision .   But more than that, Obergefell is frightened.  Very frightened. It’s not the actuality of the ruling that scares him; it’s the boogeymen he has concocted in order to shoo away any second-guessing about the high court’s judgement in his favour three years ago.   “After deciding in favour of marriage equality in Obergefell v. Hodges,” asked Obergefell in a  commentary written for The Advocate , “how could Justices Kennedy, Kagan, and Breyer rule in favour of legalized discrimination under the guise of religious freedom?” Obergefell’s reaction to the ruling then launches into ever-increasing hyperbole .   He says this signals the beginning of the legalization of  discrimination.  More specifically, this discrimination will be Christian fundament

Can practicing homosexuals be saved?

Image
If "practising homosexual " means a person who is openly approving of homosexuality and is engaged in it, can this person be saved ?  Yes and no.   Yes, because any sinner has the potential of becoming saved.  On the other hand, if the person is professing to be a Christian yet is unrepentantly practising homosexuality, then it would appear that he would not be saved.   1 John 2:4  says, "The one who says, 'I have come to know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."  So, a homosexual can be saved, but once saved the Spirit of God will move that person to repent of the sin of homosexuality.  If a person continues to practice homosexuality unrepentantly, promoting it, etc., then that person would not be demonstrating evidence of regeneration. But then again, a person could become saved, still fall into homosexuality, be convicted by the Spirit of sin, and all the while seeking to break free from it.  So

Can you be gay and Christian? Here’s what the Bible says

Image
It’s the question that’s dividing churches and separating family members. It’s the question that must be answered: Can you be gay and Christian ? Well, if you claim to be a Christian, that means that Jesus is your Lord and the Bible tells you how to follow him. So, the real question is: What does Jesus have to say about this? And what does the Bible – God ’s Word – have to say? That’s what we need to find out. Of course, we understand that every Christian struggles in some area, whether it be pride or anger or lust or jealousy or greed. But we also recognize that acting on these desires and attitudes is sinful, and so we say ‘No’ to them and ‘ Yes ’ to the Lord.  In the same way, some Christians struggle with same-sex attractions , saying ‘No’ to acting on those attractions and ‘Yes’ to following the Lord. That’s their area of temptation and battle. But what about those who say, “God made me gay, and if I’m in a committed relationship, the Lord is pleased. After a

California bishops oppose bill targeting Christian teaching on homosexuality

After a few days of silence regarding the California Assembly ’s proposed bill  AB 2943 , which could result in the  ban of books  aimed at helping people with unwanted same-sex attractions, the state’s Catholic bishops   issued a statement  against the controversial legislation.   “The bill is inappropriate, too broad and unnecessary,” the bishops said. The California Catholic Conference (CCC) simultaneously issued a thought-provoking tweet, asking, “Could a California bill ban Christian teaching on homosexuality?” CaCathConf @CACatholicConf Could a California bill ban Christian teaching on homosexuality? - The Angelus http:// ow.ly/athf30jDimk   To access an email voicing your opposition visit http:// cqrcengage.com/cacatholic/act ion?0  … 1:25 AM - Apr 24, 2018 Could a California bill ban Christian teaching on homosexuality?
