Loose your child if taken to homosexual reparative therapy?

TRENTON , NJ, July 19, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has given an uncertain answer about whether he will sign a statewide bill that would not only ban therapists from helping minors who are struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction but could cost parents who seek such help from pastoral counselors to lose custody of their children. The National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) is calling on citizens to contact Governor Christie and ask him to veto the bill, which was passed by the state legislature last month. If signed into law, the legislation would bar counselors from providing minors with reparative therapy , which seeks to help people overcome sexual attractions to members of the same sex and move toward developing healthy relationships with the opposite sex. It is similar to a ban that was recently passed in California , but  temporarily blocked  by a federal judge on the grounds that it may violate

New Jersey Gov. Christie vetoes gay ‘marriage’ bill, emphasizes civil union benefits

Image via Wikipedia TRENTON, New Jersey , February 20, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - New Jersey governor Chris Christie vetoed a gay “marriage” bill hours after it passed the legislature on Friday, saying that the issue should be offered to voters in a referendum to decide. “I am adhering to what I’ve said since this bill was first introduced – an issue of this magnitude and importance, which requires a constitutional amendment, should be left to the people of New Jersey to decide,” Christie said in his statement accompanying the veto. Christie emphasized that he has been “just as adamant that same-sex couples in a civil union deserve the very same rights and benefits enjoyed by married couples – as well as the strict enforcement of those rights and benefits.” Therefore, he said, the “conditional veto” would include the creation of an “Ombudsman for Civil Unions ” to increase awareness of and compliance with the civil union law. The Senate had passed a measure redefining marriage on Mo

Image via Wikipedia New York is obviously one of the most socially liberal states in the Union . There are, to be sure, many New Yorkers who reject sexual-liberationist ideology and believe in true marriage, which is why pro-marriage forces in the state were able to put up quite a fight, but they are not well-represented in the elite sector of society and at the moment they lack the powerful political leadership one finds on the other side.  There is no Chris Christie at the helm in New York. Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Michael Bloomberg , the state’s two most powerful and influential politicians, plainly buy much, if not all, of the ideology of sexual liberalism and publicly lead their lives in accordance with it. Although they claim to be supporters of marriage who merely want to “expand” the institution (or expand “access” to the institution) out of respect for what they regard as the civil rights of people to have their romantic partnerships (whatever their shape) recognized
